If anyone currently lives in Phoenix please let me know if it is always like this or if I just happen to go on the wrong weekend or something? lmao

Stumbled across your video! With 100+ degree weather, we prefer to enjoy our activities later in the day when it gets cooler lol! I think it's dead because a lot of businesses are still strict with COVID. It also could've been the time and day that you explored! Tempe ("Temp-E", not Temp!) is definitely going to be a younger crowd because that's where ASU is at! I love going to Tempe Marketplace and Tempe Town Lake! Arizona is a great place to live! Safe travels!

I’ll help you. Old Town Scottsdale is the place you are looking if you want to see people. Much much more action, people on the street, places to eat, shopping. Tempe is a lot of college students with a mix of young professionals. Mill Ave has a lot of things to do. Downtown Phoenix only has 8k people living there currently with a few thousand apartment units under construction. The most action downtown is on Roosevelt, you were a couple block south. Not as busy as Old Town Scottsdale or Tempe.

Yes, the streets of Arizona are dead all year long. They’re not built for pedestrian life. The Phoenix Valley is very spread out, brutally HOT for half the year, and no one ever walks. It’s strip mall central and everyone drives to EVERYWHERE. On the streets, you will encounter meth heads & crazies and only find normal people crowded within the malls and strip malls. NEVER on the streets. As a young female, it is not safe to walk these streets. They’re so vast and so empty that it feels I will get run over or possibly targeted/abducted by some desert rat in their pick up truck with absolutely no witnesses. Scottsdale is no different. It’s strip malls, luxury malls, corporate lots, and luxury housing, with still no street life. Been here 3 years and finally had enough. Beautiful place, but I gotta go.

Wow. I was considering moving there to the Scottsdale/Mesa area, I visited this summer & like it. I did experience a little bit of racism for the first time in life.(it was weird) I love the mountains, dry heat, and palm trees it was like 105 & it didn’t even feel bad imo. However now I am considering north Dallas/Fort worth, because the cali ppl have raised the prices in AZ so much & it’s a drought out west.

Rents for a 2 bedroom in Scottsdale are about $1, 500 a month and UP. Way up. Not much difference anywhere in the Valley.
More and more homeless in this area, even in Scottsdale. Tweakers (meth) crackheads and heroin users all over the place.
We're not L.A. or San Francisco, but we're getting there.
I see this video was posted in April, 2021. Guarantee you, rental prices have increased since then. Landlords, especially the
corporate type, are squeezing every penny they can get.

I'm originally from Phoenix Az. 15th Ave and vanburen is definitely not a good area to be at. Scottsdale is not what they make it seem. Just like any city surrounding Phoenix you have some good & some bad areas. Temp is beautiful but a bit pricey the closer you are to downtown or near the University. Rent definitely is cheaper in mesa which isn't to far from Tempe. It was the last town I lived in before moving to Texas. & Covid has hit AZ hard,, probably why you don't see people. But thanks for sharing this video. It definitely makes me home sick & miss all my family back home. & Just FYI AZ doesn't do time change.

I’m not even a couple minutes in and everything that you said is just the beginning of the problems in Arizona. Everything is so far and spread out, there are no people, the food sucks, and yes you’re right there are a lot of bad and dangerous places. It doesn’t matter where you live because right down the street will be a trailer park or the ghetto it is not worth it to live here at all don’t get fooled just buy a couple palm trees.

@@AshleyRivera Tempe is dangerous. There was a shooting recently at ASU, and someone was stabbed outside one of the dorm rooms ( a girl from tiktok recorded the aftermath, she just went downstairs to get her postmates order!) it makes no sense how it’s a “college town” yet so ghetto. Lots of homeless and junkies. Scottsdale ain’t all that either. Look up some statistics about Arizona being the bottom in yearly household income, public schools, education, worst drivers, worst air / water quality, worst state to raise a family, etc. it’s miserably hot 🥵 and it’s dead like that even during the holidays downtown Phoenix is a ghost town. The mask mandate was lifted so basically it’s full of corona and racists. I’ve seen so many confederate flags especially during the trump election . Also very dangerous for pedestrians people here are always getting run over and killed . Look up the news girl don’t be fooled!
