I drove on that from Harbor View to Yallahs a few days ago. The road is beautiful on video. But I noticed major defects in many sections of the roadway. There are many sections that are already sinking, especially from about a mile from the harbor view roundabout going east. This should be of major concern because the areas in question are not far from the sea. To be honest, I wasn't impressed. The only section of the roadway that was impressive is going east to Albion after passing on that major bridge constructed. I'm afraid that China harbor is slopping things up that will not last. Also, out by Grant's Pen, you can see rocks coming down from the hills already blocking the drains. And that major backfilling that was done to connect the two sections of the mountain roadway is already showing major erosion at the culverts below and flooding the grants pen community. I really don't think this roadway is going to last.
Nice dream about roads looking like this or even close. I would be just thankful if the roads in my section of Jamaica i have to drive on, along with my family and friends daily had less sinkholes pretending to be potholes.
The only way Jamaica's ever expanding community roads (and sidewalks) will remain significantly improved is via fiscally and technically empowered regional county councils (to strengthen the resource smaller/fragmented parish municipal councils corporations)....fiscally empowered county councils will be far more timely than is possible via central government ministries/national agencies (which are spatially moribund).
Thanks for the information, I was on that wining road back in 2019 and I was happy when I came through in 2023 and drove over it .
Thanks
That's great news! I hope Portland will get their roads fixed.

With all these defects mentioned it's not good but I do hope before they fully done and move on these obvious defects are fixed before it's too late.
Thanks
@nfan4. only you have seen these things, because only you are from the negative Drkness I spoke about...
@hotbiz123 how did you come to the conclusion that it's only I have seen faults in the newly built roadway?
