    That's awesome, Andrew! Well done, and you sound great on the air.

      Thanks, Matt! Maybe one day we can set up to record me at different bandwidths and pre and post processing samples that I can share on here.

    I use a similar setup, the TX-Audio first goes into a soft knee expander, then a bandpass filter between 50Hz and 6KHz then into the first stage compressor 4.5: 1 and low headroom of 8dB to compress the transients, low attack of 6ms and release of 15ms.
    Then into a multiband compressor, with 22db Headroom, the low frequencies below 100Hz 9: 1, lower frequency band 4: 1 to 350Hz, then 1.5: 1 up to 3KHz and above 3KHz 3: 1 with 20ms attack and 600ms release, then an AGC control Loudmax with brickwall limiter, at the end an equalizer and de-esser.
    RX audio is processed by Loudmax, and expander / gate at the end.

      Hi, can you repeat in plain English thanks.

    • @fnordist

      @@geofham8332 I use several stages and a compressor with a gate to suppress background noise. As described, several compressor stages one after the other with different parameters make more sense because this improves the overall volume and thus the intelligibility and voices still sound as natural as necessary.
      I cannot explain everything in detail here, you have to take the time to deal with the topics of audio engineering and psychoacoustics in order to gain a deeper understanding.

      With a simple 1/4" TRS into the balanced input on the radio. I'm now using the same setup on my Flex 6600.

      @@F41Driver hi, where does the 1/4 trs input come out and how do you configure the audio output is that through the interface or pc? Let me know how you feed it to the radio and what you do to change it in the software I also would like to do the same thing on my radio please let me know thank k you!

    How you are feeding audio from cantabile lite to sdr software for TX? Are you using VB cable or any other audio pipe? I have VB cable installed but it's not showing at audio out of cantabile lite. Required some guidance please.

    Greetings. I have an ic7300 and I use the usb connection to work with audio processed through the mixxx program on my linux pc. the solutions that you use would be compatible with linux? Thank you

    • @F41Driver
      @F41Driver  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, my friend, I have no experience with Linux, so I'm not sure at all about compatibility.

      @F41Driver  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never used Live Professor. I’m running an Electro-Voice RE320. I see you saw my updated video as well. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get on the radio much lately.

    Do u need the flex radio thing to sound this way. I want to record TH-cam videos and sound this good with all my audio rack gear that I have. I didn't realize the way ppl got this ham radio voodoo sound was using actual radios is this needed to achieve that type of voice quality.

    • @F41Driver
      @F41Driver  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're just after great sounding audio on TH-cam then you don't need the radio, just the UR22 MKII interface to pipe your audio from your rack into the computer. I hope that answers your question.

    May as well just download the Zello app on your smartphone, and call IT amateur radio.

    • @F41Driver
      @F41Driver  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You obviously have no idea what I'm doing. I'm processing mic audio before it gets to my radio which uses an antenna to transmit said audio. This has nothing to do with the internet.

      Yes.
      You have taken the next step! What used to be beautifully built stuff with inductors, capacitors, and tubes, became transistors, lcd screens, and such, which then became microprocessors, and waterfall displays, to your stuff which is a bunch of graphics on a computer screen emulating an analogue "feel." So the next step is just using Zello. Get rid of the last bit of "radio art" (which at your point is just the antenna maybe,) and go with the all sterile digitally supported smartphone 2 way radio apps. I hear they even have ht radios that work over the cell phone services, you even get to pay a monthly fee, just like a cell phone, but it's in the form of an ht radio. The step you take next!🤣

      @@goatsinker347 Wow, OM... Are you afraid of SMT components as well? Stick to your homemade spark gap transmitter if you can't understand how progress works.

      Sure,
      I understand now even better what they mean when they refer to certain people as appliance operators.

      @@goatsinker347 Sorry man. Your thought process is one of the reasons why the FCC keeps taking allocations away from our hobby and limiting where we can play because you choose to sit back and wish the world was the way it was when you got started into the hobby. Not the way the world turns my friend. I love old gear just as much as the next guy and have an old Kenwood TS-520 that I have re-built as my main radio but I like this idea of adding new tech with old analog tech for speech processing which a lot of the older cats wished they had back in the day. I also have a HOME BREW (meaning home built by me) QRP SDR transceiver (takes some know-how) that I used a computer as its front end in the beginning but built a HOME BREW (meaning home built by me) PIC33 based front end (takes some more know-how) so I don't need a computer anymore. It makes a nice QRP rig to take out on Field Day with a couple of small batteries instead of hauling my TS-520 and 6 car batteries around to keep it running for a few hours. Did I loose ya? If I was to connect my analog hardware versions of this setup to the rig, which I do have since i have a music studio, would I be considered an appliance operator also? BTW, the Kenwood can be considered an appliance so whats the difference? I actually know some stuff and know how to operate ALL of my equipment. What do you call the old school Elmer's that use digital and analog versions of this setup? You need to change your thought pattern about our hobby and technology and progress and stop hoping the pass will resurface because you keep thinking about your childhood tuning in Tokyo on your shortwave receiver you made from a Radio Shack electronic kit. I did that too. The pass is what got us to this point. BTW, I bet you're still rocking a flip phone and pager. Try something new my friend. You might enjoy this thing called technology.
