The Seymour Duncan’s don’t sound bad, but they don’t have the same classic dirt/girth as the Fender Nocasters pickups. Sure, the Fender pickups have some hum, but that’s the price you pay for that beautiful Nocasters sound. If you compared the Seymour Duncan’s against different Fender pickups, they may compare for favorably. Thanks for the video!
Yes my thoughts exactly! When I installed those nocasters I really fell in love with that guitar and really stopped playing the Gun with the Seymour’s, but in revisiting them for this video I was actually pleasantly surprised. They sound great. Thanks for your comment!
Recently,I almost bought a 2004 American deluxe Tele with fender noiseless pickups. They were ok, but just ok. I’m not a gigging musician, so a little hum isn’t an issue for me. If I was, I’d seriously consider the noiseless pickups, as they really are quiet. But for me and my social jamming playing needs, I’ll take the single coils. That said, if I had cash lying around and room in my closet, I’d seriously consider an American Deluxe style Tele with noiseless pickups. They definitely have a place.
I totally get where you’re coming from! At home, the hum isn’t an issue, however in certain gigging situations it definitely is. Thanks for your comment!
