You like Floor? Here she is with Soilwork, a Swedish band, as a guest vocalist. When she's down in the weeds with Björn, though she's a bit buried in the mix as the guest doesn't sing over the lead, she's down around a C2-D2 bass range. th-cam.com/video/-yXB7CB6DmU/w-d-xo.html The good stuff starts at 2:10. She does this occasionally for Nightwish as well, but usually when Marko is singing clean as the lead and she's singing backup.

Both singers are exceptional in their own right.
Tatiana is amazing. Just in case you missed it, when she sung "just enjoying coma" she sang a 3 second phrase, took a quick breath then sang an 11 second note that moved up and down the scale and ended with fully breath supported vibrato, then took another quick breath and went straight into her growls. There are very few singers who could pull that off live. And the rest of the band Eugene, Roman and Vlad were amazing as well. MORE JINJER!
I don't think someone can compare them. They are both extremely talented. Both are queens. Nice reaction though. Really enjoyed seeing you guys react
Ah I'm glad you're back to Jinjer! They are insane. All their live performances are just flawless, it's unbelievable. Hope to see them live in the future sometimes! Didn't get the chance yet. But you know that Spiritbox is in my heart and will always be my #1 haha ♥

Fun reaction. :) It is good to be skeptical, well I was anyway. There is a front-row bootleg of the Perennial performance uploaded by PetriAZ. Best bootleg of Pisces is in the Live in Israel full set uploaded by Idan Shahar a few months ago - it is handicam, not iPhone though, timestamps for the songs are in the top comment. The oldest good videos of Tati doing what Tati does are an older song called Destroy from 2011 and covering Lamb of God's song Laid to Rest uploaded by NosSam in 2012 (title is all Russian after the name Jinjer, laid to rest starts 55s in). Pisces is more challenging for bootlegs because of the extreme dynamic range live, and most boolegs either the cleans are barely able to be heard, especially in the beginning, or the growls are distorted.
You actually haven't seen her low growls yet. Who Is Gonna Be The One official live next - but that is Tati in 2017 so after you do that, either check out what her growls sound like doing that song now in Idan Shahar's video, or do Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev where you'll hear the same low growls though used a bit differently but with better sound quality. I don't compare goddesses. To me, each goddess has her own domain that they rule, even if their domains may overlap they still are epic in their own way. I like several female singers whose vocal skills can't touch Tati's but they each do their own thing and each has a special place in my musical life.
I'm with you on the comparison between the two, they could only be compared if they sang in bands of the same style/genre. However, I have to say that learning to sing opera is "easier" that learning to scream. : )

It's okay, Troop, we have all been in disbelief over her amazing voice. It is hard for us mortals to wrap our heads around, but it is just technique, and Tatiana is a master. But so much respect to you for being open to it by wanting to see a live song, and not just dismiss it as a recording trick!

There is a live version of Pisces at Wacken. Just came out.
Both great, but Tatiana is more versatile. The band is more versatile too. They have songs where they mash up heavy, prog and hard with jazz, rap, ska, reagge, etc. And Tatiana kills it in all those styles. "Who´s Gonna Be The One" live is a hell of a song to showcase my point. And I bet if in the next album they feel like doing an opera-infused song she will nail the singing and the guys the sound! :)
Mentioning I phone check out jinjer at Wally's pub in Hampton beach nh. I guy recorded pretty much whole concert. I was there front row and it still sounded great. Cloud factory sit stay roll over or judgement and punishment
I wouldn't try to choose between Floor and Tatiana either. I saw Jinjer live last fall and I was going to see them again on May 12, but the virus messed that up. If you go back and look at some of their early stuff, you can see a good band evolve into a great band. And they just keep getting better.

Man thank you for this. I recently just got into Jinjer. Even though I remember seeing the Pisces video like over a year ago. But like most people I didn't believe it was really her growling. So I slept on them. Worse decision ever because then I saw this just earlier this year and I couldn't live in denial anymore. Tatiana is the REAL DEAL

lol tati can do both lmaoooo..........floor does soft symphonic music in all the songs while tatiana has a great combo of hardcore growls+cleans.....completely different lanes.

There's not not one soft, symphonic note in Empty Hope, and Floor is famous for her vocal versatility. Nightwish can make 20 min songs, and keep you pumped the whole time, and Floor's voice and presence has a lot to do with that! Long live the Valkyrie Queen!
That said, the way Tatiana can sock even a Nightwish fan between the eyes with a total personality and style switch, and pack a vastly superior growl is awesome beyond words! I haven't heard a fitting nickname for her yet, but lioness, serpent, shark, and volcano all come to mind, and I have full respect for her fans who put her at the top of their list (until they trash Floor to do it)!
Adding more Jinjer fans - One day at a time! Rock on'... Follow the rabbit down the hole.... it's one hell of a ride!
The next videos always recommended are Teacher Teacher and Who’s Gonna Be The One. They both give you a glimpse of her range and vocal styles. If you want some full on aggression check out Sit Stay Roll Over!
Floor does, rarely, growl with Nightwish (Your is an Empty Hope and Greatest Show on Earth both see her growl), but if you want to see Floor really roar her pre-Nightwish band called ReVamp check out the song Wild Card live. Scary.

Tatianna is amazing and no one can do what she does as good as her. Same with Floor. Floor's singing is unmatched by anyone I've heard in rock. Tatianna is the best female there is from clean to scream.

Cool reaction. For me, Tati and Floor are pretty even bc while Tati can't do the really high, opera style singing, Floor can't growl, so they each have their special talent that they've mastered.
You guys want to see Floor's growls check out ReVamp Disdain live at Grasspop and Wild Card at Bloostock. There is also Nightwish Yours is an Empty Hope from Wembley.
By the way in the ReVamp videos Floor goes growls AND opera

People are always comparing Tatiana and Floor. Two different styles / sub-genres and two different style singers. They are both awesome singers. Enjoy them both!! Floor is great with those highs and Tatiana can go even lower. I would recommend Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) if you want to see how low she can get.

Sure, Floor is great. In a very different way. She’s classically trained; operatic. Tatiana has no vocal training at all. She’s purely self taught. Honestly, it’s unfair to compare the two. They’re both great (and I’m not even a Nightwish fan). Floor gets higher, but Tati gets lower. 😊

Nice, reaction. I tried Spiritbox since so many people said they were similar. For some reason it didn't come close for me, but who knows. Nightwish is too melodramatic, but agreed she does have a good voice but never seen her growl.

Tatiana is good, but Floor is better. Floor growls but not as often. Tatiana doesn't have the range or ability to pull as much emotion.

@@davidjames6036 some of it is physical too. Floor said she could not growl at all safely until she turned 30 or so.
Tati isn't as vocally trained too, so she has a lot of room for range if she wanted to try and work on it, and some of Floor's has come over the last 20 years, with her latest "Wow, I can do 'this' now" being this last album. That said, I think Tati is just fine in her lane, and fits it well, and feels rather comfortable in it. I guess we'll see when Tati is 39.

If I have to choose just one band to listen to for the rest of my life, I'd definitely miss Jinjer, but my choice would be Nightwish. Even as a vocalist alone, not putting the rest of the band for consideration, Floor wins for me. Luckily, I don't have to make that choice and I can enjoy them both and all other epic bands.✌️

You guys clearly have not yet heard the full range of Floor Jansen ;)
I'm sure Tatiana (who is entirely self-taught and couldn't even tell you the first thing about what technique she uses from what I've seen of her in interviews and stuff) would be the first to say that she is not as good as someone like Floor who has actually studied singing for years and pushed to the full range of what her voice can do. And yes, Floor actually has a pretty damn mean growl, she just seldom uses it.
Also Tatiana's growls are not exactly extremely low. She is more in the mid to high range as far as growlers go.
Please mind: I'm absolutely NOT talking Tatiana down! She is amazing and I've seen Jinjer live which was as amazing as any video! Also what she does is PERFECT for the band. It's just that she is something quite different from someone like Floor Jansen.
