As a funeral director I have huge respect for all the people who are organising these ceremonial aspects. People have no idea how much work this has been and will be for all the people involved. Much respect for the boys who carry the coffin. They are trained in detail.

I come from Aberdeenshire and live 46 miles from Balmoral. I can honestly say I have never seen this country turn out like they did for Her Majesty. The roads were lined from Aberdeen to Edinburgh. Very moving.

Not quite sure what power you think the monarch has ? You might also not be aware of the fact that we cut the monarch’s head head off nearly 400 years ago when he assumed too much power and ignored parliament. Since then we have evolved a fully democratic parliamentary system.
