Kamakura is probably my FAVORITE day-trip area to go to. I have been to the Buddha Statue probably about 20 times or so from living in Yokosuka as a teen and flying back for work at Yokosuka.
Sharmander Sharla, thank you so much for pronouncing “Tokyo” correctly!!! As a Japanese American, it makes my skin crawl when I hear people saying “Tokiyo”. 🤬 ありがとう ございました!!!
Sharla and Sho!!! My universes are colliding! When I was in Tokyo I went on a bar hopping tour with Sho. He took us to really cool hole in the wall type of places and after that to karaoke! He is the best. Highly recommend Magical Trip.
Your intelligence makes your channel better than a lot of others. I can’t stand watching someone who clearly has no idea what they are talking about but pretends like they do. Keepin’ it real girl.
She means she says, “holy shit” a lot. Which she does lol but I assume only when something tastes really good or something is really cool. It’s warranted.
@@sharlainjapan OMG Sho is so cute! He reminds me of a young surfer boy I once dated down in Chigasaki about 60 years ago. Back then I could still wear a bikini without scaring people. Those were the days!
@@BothHands1 Funnily enough one of the first things i missed while living in Japan was peanut butter. They have it but it's very different, like a sweet spread that imo isn't very tasty. My parents shipped me some Jif peanut butter as a christmas present and i cried lol
I loved visiting the Daibutsu, especially the quaint train station and the semi-long walk through a mix of modern and rural houses on the way up; it was quite a magical experience. Also of note was that the train from Tokyo to Kamakura travels along bridges and the seashore, so even the journey there was gorgeous to behold. Thanks for another wonderful vid, Sharles!
So cool to have a local tour guide. That would be a fun job as well. Thanks for sharing those local treasures, especially the nature and food. It was fun to watch you and your friend. Looked like so much fun!
I loooove it when you show us the street foods in the area's you're exploring! Everywhere seems to have their own variation, and it all looks so good! 😍
I'm not even done with the video but can I just say Jackie needs to be in more videos. She's hilarious! I was at Kamakura not too long ago and boy was it a different feeling than being in Tokyo. I love it!
Omg your friend Jackie is funny, your friends are always nice, funny and so friendly... I guess is the energy you attract, that’s why I love your videos 😊🖤
Thank you, Sharla. Hello from a fellow Canuck in Victoria. I love your content and delivery. This is so timely as I'll be returning to Tokyo in spring. Between classes I have long weekends and am currently creating a bucket list of sights I want to see. I will definitely look into where in Magical Trip's world I might want to go.
Back when I was in the US Navy stationed in Yokosuka, upon arrival, we had to take a week-long course to familiarize ourselves with the base and with basic Japanese customs, and at the end of the session, we took a day-trip to Kamakura! I loved it out there! And I can't wait to move back to Tokyo next month to study abroad and make more videos!
It's so nice to be able to fully enjoy a video on street food. I'm vegan myself so usually street food vids turn me off because of all the meat etc. I think this is very nice for people to see that it is possible to find nice treats and not having to miss out :)
Also, it's really great that Jackie is back with you. I first saw her on your HILARIOUS video where you were blindfolded and fed each other disgusting snacks. The part where you tried to feed her dried squid had me in stitches.
@Tidder T They look the same. Pigeons and doves are related and are very much the same bird. In most places doves are mainly all white, with mourning doves which are brown and even then some places call mourning doves pigeons. I would just call what Sharla called doves, pigeons and save the name dove for white pigeons.
@@Peorhum There's no difference between a pigeon and a dove in scientific nomenclature, but colloquial English tends to categorize them by size. Something called a dove is generally smaller than something called a pigeon, but that's not always the case. A common pigeon, for example, is called both a rock dove and a rock pigeon.
In new zealand doves and pigeons are way different . Pigeons are the rats of the sky and doves are slightly smaller usually white or light grey with pink and purple tones and they coo more softly. Those were pigeons for sure.
Ahhhhharrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh your videos make me wish I had ended up living in Japan. Dang dang dang dang dang. Great videos! Great content! Great beauty there in the people and nature!
Had my notification on but was working unfortunately, but able to watch now! Sho was so cute and goofy and awesome he was so comfortable on camera. Definitely some of these to my japan list of things to do/places to go!!
I've been to Kamakura! Saw the Buddha and went to the beach on a school trip when I lived in Japan years ago. It's awesome finally seeing a place that I've actually been to in one of your videos haha
I really enjoyed this video. Your reaction to the food was real. I love it when someone that eats something and really enjoys it instead of just pretending. This was a great tour I havent seen anyone go inside the Buddha before which was super cool. Your tour guide was really fun as well.😊
At the start I was like "oh that's cool she's friends with Jackie. I love her videos" then while I was watching I was like "wait a second... they're both Canadian, no wonder they're friends!" haha. Loved the video. Japan always looks so beautiful
That is awesome. It's nice to have local show you things that are hidden or meanings behind certain things or places. I went one a local tour in Australia and had a blast. I will have to look them up when we visit. Thanks a lot. For the upcoming Olympics people are searching for great videos on things to do and see while they are visiting Japan.
Awesome! I'm so glad to see you and Jackie together again! She's fantastic, and a vlog about delicious food (and super aggressive pigeons 😂) just makes this all the better! Also, I notice there always seems to be a "money" option with Japanese blessings. Do they usually come with specific options to choose from, or do you make your own?
omg kamakura looks amazing! i wish i had a guide when i lived in japan lol he was really cute too, like, _really_ cute. i love 庶人料理 (shojinryouri) soo much!! i only had it a few times though, because it's so hard to find. even the biggest temples in Nagasaki don't have a restaurant. :(

I stayed at the nicest hostel in Kamakura when I went to Japan on a tour, it sucked that there was only one day we spent in Kamakura, so going back there and going to the beach is one of the top things I have to do when I get back to Japan
I had an epiphany this year. I’m working very hard to get as healthy as I can, and if I manage to achieve it, I’m going to live my dream and come to Japan within the next five years. If I don’t achieve it, it won’t be by not trying as hard as I can ☺️. And either way, if I can get healthier, I cannot lose. 😃
Sho is not only gorgeous but that hair! Can you imagine if she went by herself with Sho?! He looks Hapa. I grew up in an Asian community in Los Angeles, Gardena, CA, a lot of my friends were half Japanese and half Caucasian, Sho reminded me of one of my good friends in high school, he had a lot of curly hair and a surfer. I must go to Japan immediately! 😁😉
