I have done several of these and found that the problem is in the reproduction fenders. The new tubs seem to fit pretty good with original fenders and hood. MD Juan is pretty much crap but it is better than nothing. I always try to save the original tub when ever possible. You did a great job making all that stuff fit. Keep up the good work.
Too many "and then I had too fix, put, cut, bend, more cut, Weld...etc etc" I'd just said MD Juan repros sucks for even being a close fit for what you paid for it. Seems like fixing the old body would be cheaper in the long run.
The repli tub is the same body but willys overland checks the body against templates and makes some of the corrections I have one and there are still some issues. For example 78 cj5 clutch bellcrank mounting studs are about 1 and a half inches off and the transmission tunnel seems to be off about the same. I also know that the factory Jeep parts could also be off on passion. I have a factory hood that is 1 half inch narrow on each side. No one else seems to notice but Brian over at the metalshaper. Videos would probably catch it. People give MD Juan he'll but I'm glad to at least get something. When I see that even Jeep had some issues I know it can't be too easy. That said I hope MD Juan can make future improvements
