I don't understand why Brad Dourif and Don Mancini dislike this movie, I think it's great, the film may have been a box office disappointment, but the writing, direction, and acting are all solid.. deciding to use a Midwestern military school as the backdrop was brilliant and Chucky really took full advantage of it.
While I like this movie I saw this in an interview. The main reasons are 3 factors. 1. The second movie was already approved by Test audiences, causing pre-production of this movie. In layman's terms, they rushed him. Which in hindsight, he's lucky to even make a movie that coherent. 2. As a result of 1, he was getting exhausted from writing the script and was worried this would get repetitive. 3. He didn't like the actors that played Tyler and the head of the Military Academy. But the main problem was essentially that he thought he could do better if he could redo it. That said, he was a great stickler for continuity, so Andy's experience at Kent stayed to make any fans of the movie happy.
@@Shanethefilmmaker Essentially also, he originally pitched the third movie to have multiple Chuckys, but because of budget constraints, the studio rejected it causing Don to start from scratch again. Luckily, he was able to do the storyline in Cult of Chucky and the Chucky TV series.
True but the CEO talks like an evil man almost. The kind that only cares about the money and greed. He don't care about kids, hell we don't even know if he had kids of his own. The only reason he got into the toy manufacturing business was money in my opinion.
That's definitively what the intro implies. Makes sense too, since all other instances of Chucky dying were by directly shooting the heart or crushing the head (the latter of which might only permanently paralyze rather than just ouright kill him).
Well yeah, that's the reason why he sounded so pissed after getting remade apart from being blueballed and not getting revenge at the factory. Chucky is the essence of being vitriolic; never forgets betrayal or being unsuccessful and I'm pretty sure he's been stewing on it as an immobile, blobby abomination for all those years.

You would think there would have been security camera footage in the toy factory at the end of Child's Play 2 that would have confirmed that Chucky was alive and Andy was right.
There's many facilities today that still don't have many camera's around in 2021. Most of the time corporations only bother to put camera's in places where groceries or electronics are sold.Thats because these things are the most frequently stolen. I doubt anyone was going to steal doll parts from a toy factory,so camera's weren't needed. And like the other guy said, they weren't nearly as common in the 80's and 90's anyways.
Thank you guys for posting my FAVORITE chucky movie! This is the most underrated one of the bunch. I don’t care if anyone thinks it was “rushed”, that’s your opinion. But this is my favorite chucky movie, and I will always enjoy watching it no matter what🔪
This was the first ever Chucky movie I’ve ever watched and it scared the sh&t out of me a lot when I was a kid especially the intro of how Chucky is coming back to life again and I could never forget how it freaked me out when Chucky suddenly screamed *”NOOOOO!”* that scared me shitless and the rest of the night scene of the old man with chucky running around without him even noticing and the music is what makes the entire scene so Terrifying and Menacing. That’s why until now it still gives me chills since I remembered the experience of watching this movie for the first time and that’s why it’s by far my Most Favourite Chucky Movie from the Franchise and for other reasons too.
The thing is, there isn't really anything wrong with selling the Good Guy dolls again. The only downside was the fact that one of them got possessed by a serial killer, but I don't think that happens on a regular basis.
I always found this intro, as well as the other movies intros, to be so satisfying. Chucky being rebuilt, Chucky being remanufactured, Chucky being reconstructed. But Glen/da's conception wasn't really at all entertaining, more weird.
My grandma allowed the grandchildren to watch this on Halloween, we were horrified. She didnt know what the movie was. She passed this week and while we fondly look back on it now, at the time it was the scariest thing in our young lifes.
remember how Tiffany tricked Jesse/Jade into taking their dolls across the country? Something like that I imagine. Chucky made a call over the phone and said he needed someone to come over and package/mail a good guy doll to Kent academy. He could have taken some cash from the CEO and told the person over the phone that there would be cash there for their trouble if they would do it.And I suppose if Chucky got a dishonest person that just took the money he would kill them, take the cash back, and try it again with someone else.
In all honesty that melted mess was probably dropped right into a junk pile or incinerator for disposal,so it never came into contact with another human. Also I highly doubt the crane operator would notice the blood, from all that distance away in his booth. And if they found blood on the gripper after the fact I'm sure they would just have investigated it as a potential workplace accident. I highly doubt 'OMG there's a serial killers immortal soul inside one of these dolls' would have ever crossed their mind.
Crazy how this film has the best opening sequence and Chucky death yet both Dourif and Mancini despise it. It's also the one Chucky sounds the best in.
Watched this movie (plus the other ones with friends) yesterday. Ive only seen one and two when i was younger but never saw the 3rd one until yesterday. I have to say the intro for this one is pretty good cause like how it shows the blood getting mixed into the liquid that makes the dolls.
As soon as I heard Mr. Sullivan say those horrible things about Andy and the evil things he said about children and how greedy and cutthroat he is. I knew he had first to go in this. Anyone who doesn't believe the truth about what Andy and his mother went through because of Chucky being a doll that was possessed by Charles Lee Ray would only be opening up another opportunity to make the incidents happen again to someone. They kept trying to redo the same thing over again but they should've cut their losses and tried something else.
This movie is so under appreciated in the chucky series. It’s the last movie that I consider horror before it went more comedic route. Just the sounds and music alone in this film make it very eerie and chilling.
I love Child's Play 3 it's the best movie ever and chucky isn't dead he got trapped in his melted body and so he will stalking tyler also Andy is playing sick games.....
