If I'm not mistaken, collocation is two or more words that often go together. The combinations just sound "right" to native English speakers, who use them all the time. On the other hand, other combinations may be unnatural and just sound "wrong". Notwithstanding the similarity of meaning, which is more formal of these collocations: "have a seat" or "take a seat"?
Oh!!! Nice comment! I would suggest ‘take a seat’ could sound a little more formal but it’s more about how you say it ‘would you like to have seat?’ Vs ‘take a seat’ could actually sound rude as an imperative. Depending on the situating.👍👩🏻🏫
Hi Leila.I like your lesson my problem is in writing. I wanna improve it and for that I am taking exercise on regular basis. My writing is still not improving .this is what troubling me a lot.hope you can understand my concern . besides, grammatical errors and suitable words at the wrigt time are also my major problem in my writing. Hello my beautiful teacher May l question one. "Miner's lady stranger to blue water" from Country roads, Take me home by John Denver What does this sentence mean? Please explain.
1) We should take action to save our planet. 2) When we have arguments we should remain calm and we should take control of ourselves. 3) I am proficient in German but it took me ages to accomplish that goal. 4) Every morning I like to stop and smell the roses and take my dog on a walk. 5) Almost every night I have a shower before hitting the sack.
hi leila, thanks a lot for your effort teaching us i can understand what iam hearing but i can't speak as fluently and quickly as native . i'd like speak with native. how can i get my goal of speaking with native?
To my knowledge, "coffee" constitutes an uncountable noun, doesn't it? Which is grammatically correct in English: "Have a coffee" or "Have a cup of coffee" though the proper collocation is "Have a drink"?
I would love to take a risk to have a conversation with you 'cuz this kind of challenge would be awesome for me for sure but looks like so far away mainly for whomever just want to make international friends! Have a bath every day is it need, isn't it?

‘I did make a mistake’ you don’t need ‘did’ there. Unless you are trying to add emphasis. You’re English is good. The only error you made in your first comment was that you didn’t have an object at the end of the sentence ‘I’ve got not money to pay for it’ 😊👍💕👩🏻🏫😉🇬🇧
