  • Being justified before God because of what Jesus did on the cross gives us as believers a whole host of benefits. Paul expounded on some of these benefits in Romans 5, explaining how sin entered the world through the one man Adam, but we can be saved through another man: Christ. In this message, we learn that even though we're sinners by nature, our sin cannot erect a dam so high that God's grace can't flood over it.
This teaching is from the series 45 Romans - 2021 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

Hello again from the North of Scotland (70 miles from Aberdeen actually). Thank you again for your teaching and praise the Lord for all the blessings he gives us. I ask you might pray for me as I go into the last 7 weeks of my theology degree and take up my post as probationer minister in the neighbouring parish. Thank you 🙏

Pastor Heitzig must be very happy when the congregation gasps in disappointment wanting to hear next weeks teaching right now. I sympathize with them. 🙂

Hello Ann, according to scripture baptism is an outward sign of what is inward. We are saved by Grace through faith. We are saved by believing on the Son of God Jesus Christ. See James 2:14, John 3:16, and 1 John 1:7.

Romans 5:13 😵‍💫 does it mean before the law was given to Moses, no one’s sin was held against them? Or are we to assume that from the beginning everyone’s faith was accounted as righteousness, as ours is counted as righteousness when we believe in Christ Jesus, the son of God?

Man you all cut out the singing before this and the recall from last times message. You should leave both or at least the recap. It helps.

The whole live-streamed service is available on the church’s TH-cam channel. They only cut them to put into the playlists. Before COVID they didn’t always leave anything livestreamed up (if they livestreamed much before; IDK), but since all the quarantines, they have been.

How could Paul have been "alive once" and then spiritually died if he was born spiritually dead and guilty ?
I like Skip but he's wrong about this one. Calvinism is false.
    Romans 7:9 KJVS
"For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died."
We are born with the law of sin and death in our FLESH, our physical bodies that we inherited from Adam. We did NOT inherit Adam's guilt. We become guilty sinners ONLY once we ourselves sin.

Exactly. Skip is awesome in all other stuff except calvinism
