- For this Signal Colors Primer, I'm taking my first look at a mastering solution from Endorphines - The "Golden Master". This stereo compressor/eq/mid-side box is the perfect final touch to your mix. Check it out while I give it a try w/ the Elektron Syntakt and Modor NF-1.

Great video, it’s a shame they didn’t make a with a golden coating 😂 I wish they made a in and out VU metering.
Thanks man! Yeah, at least you can switch the VU to either in OR out, but not both at once, so at least that way you can view your preference at a glance. I could see them doing a gold special edition! lol maybe not real gold though haha, that would be sick
Hmmm. This pedal leaves me undecided. While i like it overall i can imagine it becoming confusing if you are tired it a session
to remember what everything is set too in all layers and also miss attack-release for the compression tbh.
Don`t know any similar pedal somehow .Still very nice
For making a mix "crunchy" i prefer what the Platform pedal did
Hm I get where you’re coming from, I’m more of a fan of knob-per-function too. I think this sounds great and probably shines more in a studio environment for sure, and I’d see Platform definitely being perfect for live shows, easy and cheap to replace if anything went wrong from being beaten up out at shows! 💯
@@Duskmos I see!
Exactly! This is why i thought that the golden master looked too layered (i guess cause of the real estate restriction). The biggest brain freezes i had till now were the ones with multi layer menu`s and devices :-)
do you experience a phasing noise when activating just the mid band? It feels/sounds like it is constantly shifting the x-over frequency around by a couple of Hz or something like that...
I haven't noticed but I'll see what I can suss out this weekend! Stay tuned.
Don't you realize that in preset 2 the low band is muted (that makes it ''thin'' as you put it) and in preset 3 the highs are?
Yep! Just commenting on what each preset sounded like out of the box. As you noticed the big mute buttons not being lit make that pretty obvious I thought. Thanks for the comment!
@@Duskmos You are welcome! Keep on with the reviews. Greetings from Macedonia.
Thank you for tuning in 🙏 - cool to have you here :) I love my worldwide friends
