I can not figure out why this channel doesn't already have 1M subs.
It's coming. He's already gotten about 7k since I came on board.
I don't either. There's a lot of channels that have well over 1m subs and their content is just stuff they copied from someplace else. Rod lives and creates his content. He doesn't copy it from anyone. Even if you don't like to fish or camp, the escapism is intoxicating as is the photography, and his personality is affable. There's nothing about his videos I don't like. I just feel sorry for those who haven't discovered his channel.
Rich fully agree. The vids just come across as him and not like he trying to prove anything to any one. Just living and creating his passion

I'm like everyone else.... can't wait for the next vid, Rod. Watching you gives me the same feeling I used to get from watching Bob Ross on PBS... the painter? He was just like you.... he made happy little accidents on the canvas that turned into awesome paintings. You have happy little circumstances.... sometimes not so happy (ie: fishhook through the finger...eeeikes!)... nevertheless, it all makes for great vids. Also, sometimes you remind me if Dick Proenneke, the Alaskan Wilderness guy. Just some good "plain people" kind of video. NICE!

Hi Rod for sand pegs/anchors for my beach sun shelter I use a shopping bag filled with sand and buried. I have strengthened the handles so they don’t rip out. They weigh nothing and take up little space. Tying the guy rope to a bit of driftwood buried in soft sand also works a treat!!

Seems you have a lot of options when it comes to these trips which must be nice. I'm planning on doing some 4wd trips as soon as it is acceptable to do so but I doubt many will be near water like that unfortunately.

Great alone time camping trip, wish I could get away and do one myself. Man that seemed like way more work that necessary setting up a shelter. Why don’t you just use a lightweight tent? Get one with a waterproof bottom that keeps out the wet and any critters that live on or in the ground. The rest of the tent is mosquito net and a rain fly for over the top. I can have mine set up in less than 10 minutes. The rain fly ties up out of the way if you don’t need it and let’s the breeze blow through. Big Agnes makes some really nice ones, check out their clearance sale page. Time for some crab!
