I tried other "free" things and ended up paying Sketchup $250 for it. It really is the best for planning / designing woodworking projects. Especially cabinets. Get used to the idea that you're going to spend a few hours on your first design and then scream, throw it away and start from scratch all over again. Unless you're really lucky, the first few things you design will be for learning the tool. You'll throw them away and start over again a few times, but each time you start over you'll go faster and faster until you'll finally be able to throw down a good design in about 15 minutes. It's frustrating but worth it.

Beautiful piece. My girlfriend just asked me if I could make a bed frame for her, so this is very timely. I think the only change I'll make to your design is applying a full roundover to the jutting portions of the side and footrails to match the aesthetic of the round legs. I've been looking for an excuse to build the tablesaw lathe anyway.

WOW. That table saw lathe! I watch a lot of woodwork TH-cam and never seen that. Next job: search ‘table saw lathe’ on TH-cam. Amazing video as ever. Stunning build. Looking forward to the next!
A castle joint that deep is certainly a challenge for the woodworking tools most of us use. I really appreciate how you tackled it a stage at a time. Great job, Tamar!
GREAT jig creation/utilization! Especially when working with white oak on the table saw….as well as little things like the dowels to increase strength for end-face grain joints. Beautiful work!
Another fantastic video! I’m getting jealous of your new shop and equipment. It’s amazing how your kids all look alike. We also protect our grandkids from exposure. It’s a reality with live with.
Nice build, Tamar. It's always good when you can do something positive with your children. I like the easy-tuck corners you designed. Good idea. Looking forward to your next project.
Absolutely love this build! The castle joint is such a cool look. Knowing my kid, being as accident prone as she is, she would likely scratch her self on those bits that extend past the post. Trust me, she would find a way!
Very first thing I see in the video is Tamar using a skateboard to move large heavy objects ! FANTASTIC! I was shown this by a friend and I am ALWAYS sharing it with others. I have moved quite large bulky objects by myself with a skate board ! I actually own 2 sizes, a small "backpack" size and a long board - longer is good for heavier/larger pieces, basic physics ! P.s. cheap skateboards are FINE! Okay, back to the video !
This is the kind of stuff I love about the internet. Wholesome and practical learning, with a wonderful example to girls (this whole channel accomplishes this, but this video is the epitome) that woodworking is accessible to everyone with today's tool kit with tact and grace as opposed to being loud about it. Kudos and subbed.
Nice bed, those cylinder feet are tricky to do. I've done smaller one's like that before, but I used a dado stack on the table saw. Made a custom table saw jig to push them across.
The dowel solution for screwing into end grain is pretty trick. The bookshelf you added serves a dual purpose. It also helps support the top of the headboard, preventing the bottom joint from breaking if someone fell against it.
As a non woodworker, I loved watching all the steps that go into making something that all fits together perfectly. Loved the bed, especially the castle legs.
So glad to see you working in your new shop with some heat! I used to "feel your pain" when I noticed your "red" fingers in your old shop!! Happy woodworking!!
Your innovations are not only beautiful but so practical too. Some beds make it very difficult to change sheets, but not this one. Good to see the crew getting so involved too. Thanks, Tamar.

And protecting your kid without dismissing them from what you do is so amazing and I have the most respect for you (great video, I’m excited to start my own home makeshift lathe)
Glad you’re back! One of the only channels on TH-cam I don’t increase the playback speed.
All those jigs and templates. So much handwork to achieve an industrial look. Nice design !
Simple things are the hardest to make
It's so cool that you're using Woodworkers Source, I used to buy all of my wood and supplies from them while I was living in Phoenix, been in South Carolina now for 9 months and really miss them, they do ship, so that's a plus. Just really cool. Keep up the great work Tamar.
Wish I was closer to them!
Project fantastic, involving children in the project, priceless.
Again great job, you're a Pro. And this stuff is GREAT for kids. My son was mig and tig welding when he was 12. Now a journeyman sheetmetal worker.
Awesome
My hat is off to you! I can’t believe you managed to square the router cuts after removing the circle from the square jig AND WITHOUT any clamps! 👏👏👏
Wicked cool how your narrations walk you through the whole process!
So glad you liked it!
table saw lathe blew my mind. what did i just see?!! amazing.
Nice build and great to see you include your daughter.
Thanks! She had a lot of fun too
Congratulations: You have really stepped up your game with some nice new "high end" tools. Saw Stop TS, Shaper Origin, Powermatic band saw and Woodpecker squares. You go girl. Isn't it nice to work with great tools.
It really is!
Wow. You are so talented. I love that you teach the kids a skill that they can pass on. This country needs more like you.
It’s so fun to involve them
the slanted sides and fronts are genius for fitted sheets i love it !
It’s been working out really well!
That headboard during the glue-up looks awesome the you Ladies did the layout of the grains!!!!
WOW. That table saw lathe! I watch a lot of woodwork TH-cam and never seen that. Next job: search ‘table saw lathe’ on TH-cam. Amazing video as ever. Stunning build. Looking forward to the next!
The multipurpose shelf support and the angled cuts for fitted sheet access are genius
A castle joint that deep is certainly a challenge for the woodworking tools most of us use. I really appreciate how you tackled it a stage at a time. Great job, Tamar!
It was fun to figure out!
GREAT jig creation/utilization! Especially when working with white oak on the table saw….as well as little things like the dowels to increase strength for end-face grain joints. Beautiful work!
Outstanding work. Way to go, Mom! 👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
To the eye, it looks like a simple bed frame until you look at the efforts put into the joinery. I love the minimalistic look and overall style.
Sometimes the simplest things are hardest to make
Those cross joints and legs look fantastic. Beautifully simple = simply beautiful.
Thank you SO much. New things always make the day better!
Another fantastic video! I’m getting jealous of your new shop and equipment. It’s amazing how your kids all look alike. We also protect our grandkids from exposure. It’s a reality with live with.
Haha they do all really look alike
Nice build, Tamar. It's always good when you can do something positive with your children. I like the easy-tuck corners you designed. Good idea.
Looking forward to your next project.
Thanks so much! On to the next one!
Absolutely love this build! The castle joint is such a cool look. Knowing my kid, being as accident prone as she is, she would likely scratch her self on those bits that extend past the post. Trust me, she would find a way!
Thanks! Haha yeah. We had a long conversation about that before building it. She said she was willing to take the risk 🤷🏻♀️😂
Great build Tamar.
Looks like you're enjoying the new shop.
Great job keeping the kids privacy intact. I applaud you for that.
Thanks!
3:50 BRAVO for not flinching and staying calm so you didn’t chop off your finger near that blade.
Yes, kickbacks can happen I got one once right in my chest! Boy, it really hurt for some time after. I am sure glad it missed you.
Tamar I'm so glad you look warm!
great bed I love the joints!
Good on you for getting the kids involved. More parents need to do this.
I’ve seen a lot of jigs in my 30+ years of professional woodworking ….that is one I have not seen and it is really cool!
I love templates and jigs, as well. They are a godsend when you want/need repeatable results
Template is always the answer
As a non woodworker, I loved watching all the steps that go into making something that all fits together perfectly. Loved the bed, especially the castle legs.
So glad to see you working in your new shop with some heat! I used to "feel your pain" when I noticed your "red" fingers in your old shop!! Happy woodworking!!
Wow, lucky daughter, bed is amazing. Love your vids, keep up the good work.
Love the narrations to your videos...better I think than live audio.
Glad you like them!
Thanks for the "artistry" in motion in woodworking.....
Your innovations are not only beautiful but so practical too. Some beds make it very difficult to change sheets, but not this one. Good to see the crew getting so involved too. Thanks, Tamar.
Can't wait til my kids are old enough to do woodworking with me, some of my favorite memories were woodworking with my dad. So far my boys don't seem interested but my daughter loves watching me use the table saw
I love love that your kids are getting into this. My youngest always wants to help esp with drill and driver.
There is something about the drill that is so fun for them!
Looking at this video after your floating bed design and build. This castle joint would be great support for the edge of the bed.
lol so fun to see your daughter getting involved in the building process
Your jig making skills are most excellent
🤘🤘
