In this video 3 women of varying ages talk about their gray hair journey. Sharron, Beth, and Johnnie each have a very creative and unique story to share about their gray hair transition.
Check out this feature If you are still coloring your hair and have questions on why and when you should just stop coloring your hair and let your hair go gray. Going gray naturally can be a bit of a challenge as far as the hair color transition.
Many women make excuses and won't go gray because they don't know how they would look without color. I felt the same...find out my reaction after I did my big chop and cut all of my color off in September 2019.
The grey hair journey of these three women will definitely give you some inspiration on when to stop coloring your hair and embrace your gray strands.

I started going gray at 15 and henna dyed my hair until the age of 65. It took me from ages 60-65 to finally make this gray hair journey decision. The pros definitely outweighed the cons and I started going grombre. After 10 months, I got a pixie cut and never looked back. I’m 28 months dye free, 18 months post big chop and very happy with my gray hair decision. Our journeys are all unique. Peace and blessings.

Been coloring my hair since i was in my early 20s. Colored because no one including my grandma always had their colored. First i had a reaction to dye so i stop useing dye went to rinses for many many years. However 3 to 4 years ago i had a bad allegic reaction. To the rinse. Cut hair down still wanted the color when it go out i looked like a raccoon. This went on and on. But that bad reaction i had with rash and hair falling out. During my transition I stayed hidden because I was ashamed of the gray then one day I went out to the store and someone gave me a compliment about my hair that made me realize that I was okay with the gray hair.

This was an awesome video, and it really boosted my confidence, and let me know that there are some beautiful sistas out there with gray hair of all ages. So, this may have just been the boost I needed to embrace my gray. Thank you!

Sometimes I feel like if women go through this process and are just brave enough to take the plunge they should just cut the color off and rock the short hair.(now that’s coming from someone who loves the short hair) With the right cut for your head shape it can be hot!!! Blessings sis on your journey to even more greatness!!!

I am so glad I found your channel. First of all, hello Johnny, so good to you 😊 You may remember me from Macedonia Baptist Church and from Sonny and Kathy get togethers fun times. During this pandemic I have been transitioning to gray and natural. It has been a journey for sure. I decided to go for it because, my hair was falling out getting shorter and looking unhealthy. So It occurred me that I should take a break from coloring and the heat.
My hair is now about half and half. I have clipped, and trimmed to take off the black dyed ends and hair that was not my natural curl pattern. Can I just say Whew! At any rate ladies, thank you for sharing, it really has helped me to here about your journeys with the gray 😎

The grey hair is Gods built in programming. I'm allergic to dye so I just say this is how I'm designed. With precision. With built in details created by God My hair is white like snow in the front like the lady on the panel. But after going natural for 8 years it's so long and big. And that white streak sitting right on the front. I'm a lil overwhelmed by the color. Not sure how to rock this huge white Afro. But I'm going to.

I saw my first gray strand in my early thirties. It didn’t bother me at all. Gray hair appeared to increase when I turned 40. I colored my hair a handful of times but by age 45 I decided to stop coloring my hair, had my hair cut to my shoulders and now currently allowing it to grow out. I am someone who wants to embrace my gray hair and avoid chemicals from color. It is difficult dealing with the contrast of my dark hair and white hair on the front of my head, also the different texture of the gray. I’m still trying to determine what the best style for my hair as it transitions

I had surgery on my head a couple yrs ago as a result I had to buzz it all off. I have been wearing the twist out & french braids. I also pin it up in different styles & get a lot of compliments. I love my gray hair ❤💯👏🏽👍🏽 btw I don't like gray eyebrows 👎🏽. I enjoyed this video...dyes aren't good for us any how 🤗🤔.

+Mitzi Lawrence thanks for watching sis!! Wow you’ve had quite the experience when it comes to different transformations. Love ❤️ when I hear that people cannot embrace it right away. And yess girl funny I’m gonna do a video about the brows. I don’t have gray brows and I do believe I would NOT wear them if they started graying

Wow, I never met anyone with natural grey hair in their twenties, or maybe they just colored. I didn’t get my first grey until my late forties. I colored at first but got tired of it. My hair hair is now salt and pepper.

Beth has beautiful thick hair...WOW. My hair broke off recently due to color. I have natural hair and it is greying...I wish it looked more modern. I don't have a curl pattern so my hair looks dated. Still thinking about cutting it down very short just want it to look feminine. Do you have any tips?

      @gograybechic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

+josephine armstrong thanks for watching. Yes everyones head size and shape deserves the best cut that works for it. As far as hair I don’t use tons of gels and creams for my clients and their hair/curls. I have a few products that work for them and me. And sometimes they have their own products that they prefer.

I use mostly design essentials. I use their foam on my hair which is white they have a lot of clear sulfate free shampoos and great moisturizing conditioners and a clear and very light hairdressing oil for the hair and scalp as well.

+Vicki Campbell hey lady thanks for watching. Two things…1 it will fade out over time. 2. The best option in my professional opinion would be to let it grow out a little more where you are comfortable with cutting the rest of it out. That way you have a clean slate. Hope that helps. I have no problem with being grey in & of itself --- it's the fact that I'm not fortunate like some people whose grey comes in with a nice, well-placed streak, or the salt-n-pepper grows in balanced amounts well-blended. My grey is scattered randomly. Not to mention that my greys grow in VERY wiry/almost straight compared 2 my black hairs & it looks like I have white pieces of lint scattered all throughout my hair & it just makes it look unkempt, even though it's not. Only time it looks alright is if I wear it in a coiled style via a sponge 🧽, a brush, or some other tool. But if I just want 2 wear it in a plain afro 👨🏾‍🦱 ---- UH UH ☝🏾😤 --- it looks a Flamin' Hot 🔥 Cheeto MESS!!
I currently have my hair bleached blonde 👱🏾‍♂️ to hide the greys, & it looks cute on me (I've been blonde b4 & various times in the past), but for the 2nd, my scalp is not reacting favorably to either the bleach or the chemicals in the toner. So now, my only option if I don't wanna continue to deal with the scalp irritation issues due 2 those factors, I'm just gonna have to let these stringy greys show once it grows out. My dilemma is that I don't want to continue to dye it black cuz dyes are just as toxic as bleach. The only natural (or "used2B" ✌🏾natural✌🏾 in terms of it containing no peroxide or bleach) hair dye I've heard about is Bigen. My friend says she has been using it for a decade or more with no issues, BUT I've read several views on Bigen's website, videos on YT, & internet articles about how several people have experienced balding 🙅🏿‍♀️🧪💥👩🏿‍🦲 & allergic reactions severe enough 2 require hospitalization after having used Bigen either after 1x or a few years. Many of the comments also mentioned their formula changed over the last few years since the company switched ownership, even though it's still Japanese 🎎-owned. So it seems I have no options in terms of coloring. I'm just through 🙌🏾. I don't know of any other options but 2 let this "thang" grow out & look a mess🙄🤦🏾‍♂️!! 😭

+booginas thanks for watching appreciate your response as well. whew girl you said a lot 😂😀 you have definitely done your research. And you are too funny girl!!! I realize all of your concerns but this may sound basic…the main thing that I always tell people is that you first need to start with a great haircut that has low styling esp when you’ve found the best products for you. I know that everyone has so many different patterns of gray hair. If only we just learn to love our own and make it work for us then we would embrace this gray hair journey a lil more proudly. ❤️🙏🏾 and btw I love all your emojis 😂💪🏾

@@gograybechic 🤭 I know I'm ✌🏾somethin 🙄.✌🏾 My momma, daddy, grandmama, & every1 else been telling me so since I could talk. WHAT that something is --- I do not know 🤷🏾‍♂️. But the struggle is REAL. I'm trying to stick 2 taking this molasses every day, but it's not my favorite thing to take everyday plain & ain't too many things I eat in my diet everyday that I can incorporate it into, but I heard over some months it can lessen the # if Grey hairs you produce, & in some cases --- reverse it. I tried other natural remedies like taking turmeric & taking iron supplements, but I've yet 2 fund an iron supplements 💊 🌿 that agree with me. And it doesn't help that I have an anemia 🩸 disorder among other issues. But anyway, Chile . . . the search for a cure continues!!
