How does the boardwalk connect into the cycle crossing of Tower Street from St George's Field to connect into Picadilly and other parts of the safe cycling network in the city? Will a 3m wide boardwalk align with LTN 1/20?
Have followed this proposal for a number of years, hope it can now progress! Really like the addition of a boardwalk behind the courts and a linking bridge to a river walk. But still too much of the green space given over to car parking, even with Option 1. By reducing this to 10 spaces would give an open view from Tower green to the River Foss. Please rethink.
The whole point of the original design - in which we invested many hours of our own time and resources for free - was to remove cars from this site and create a safe, open and flexible space for play, entertainment and creativity/markets etc. I have never seen all the disabled parking spaces in use - how many spaces are actually used and needed (there must be plenty of CCTV available to determine this) and how much of that could be accommodated on the streets and/or other car parks adjacent to the site? Disabled parking dominated the last local elections and this is a political decision that is going to derail a once-in-a-generation (at least) opportunity that could provide multiple benefits to everyone in the city. To live in a city with many thousands of other people means compromise and compromise needs to be found now.
Does the Mr Costa (Coffee) actually live or ever visited the City. Also as a Director does not look like much experience. then 1 Its a Concrete approx feet thick. No Water on the Surface unless after a rain shower. The "Drop" is a significate part not to be hidden away. The River Walk (Could) become a jumping point. His "Historical" is Design History NOT actual History No link to other sites . .
Thank you, looks good to me. I prefer the smaller, more compact blue badge parking area which gives more green space.
