It's crazy how well spoken and intelligent David is. And watch Eugene when David is talking he just looks at him and listens it's super respectful I can't imagine all the Shit these two have went through together
Idk what type of ppl you hang.around but.when somebody speaks its normal to listen to what they are saying and look at them.. David just seems like a man of average intelligence.. He didn't say anything very intelligent? But compared to some idiots he probably seems like a genius
lol, Yavid is extremely intelligent. If you sat down with him in person you wouldn’t be able to participate in the same conversation because he’s on a different level than you. He’s a fucking artist not an intellectual. He’s not trying to impress you with words jstrap. Yavid is well educated. He’s from the hood. He looks and talks a certain way. He doesn’t give a fuck. He’s not trying to impress you or anyone else. But you couldn’t hang jstrap, not mentally or physically
Been an 810 fan for just over 10 years because of this exact reason. Remember hearing Midwest monsters on one of the Total Deathcore collections and they’ve have been on repeat ever since!
i knew seeing king 810 open for slipknot that they were something special and authentic. this band gives me feelings that 1st hearing cradle of filth or marilyn manson gave me! also being that half my family came from michigan, i got right away where they were coming from!!! also my bud from here in texas jams with em! so there is that too!!!! good stuff garza!!!
I grew up in Mid-Michigan and caught these dudes live several times around the state in the late 00's, early 10's. They were signed to Roadrunner shortly after I moved south. Trust me, these dudes are 'LEGIT' and everyone knew to either respect them or fuck around and find out. That having been said, they were cool as hell just like this, in my personal experience. They'd simply treat you as you treated them. Good times and great conversations. I'm super proud of them and am always looking forward to what they'll do next.
Awesome interview! I really like the depth to which this displays the intersecting paths of the circumstances of their physical reality and an evolving creative flow.
Grateful for you're music king 810 well spoken. survivor's guilt whenever you come from a dark place is very real. Authentic and relatable music to ride too Thank you for speaking truth instead of watered down bs
I've been jaming them since 2014. I went on my first tour with my band in 2015 all through the east coast. I'm confident King was one of the influences that gave me that energy to bust ass and land a tour and get the band going. Of course we crashed and burned but I'm not giving up lol.
@HoshiFanatic what's your band called buddy? I grew up with these guys playing since 2009 with them. Rowdy group but if they knew you they would ride for you
I discovered "King 810" by doing a stupid game I came up with when I get bored from the music I listen to. I request "Siri" to play songs on Spotify by saying random words with no sense. During one of those attempts, "Alpha and Omega" played..... I said WTH!!! THIS IS AWESOME! Since then, not one day goes by without listening to at least one song from "King 810". 🤘🤘🏏
I got to see them when I was like 14 (so like 10 years ago) during a Mayhem Fest. Since there were multiple stages going at the same time, of course I did my research and picked these guys. Even my dad got dragged into the pit 😂 good times
The he first time I listened to King was when they were touring with Slipknot, what a band dude, what a voice I love them, they are so talented and different
i remember seeing them back when the guitar player of chiodos was in the band, at a venue called Station 4, it was the most violent crushing concert i think I've ever been in the presence of, still to this day.
This interview sold a book instantaneously. For context I do not even know what king 810 sounds like, I just liked this so much that as soon as I heard this dude wrote a book I was like, lets go
Love King 🤴 ❤️. Such an incredibly creative band, most people probably wouldn't have a clue about much variety there is in their music. Check the Queen EP for an example, all songs dedicated to women and plenty of love songs written on piano etc.
Young me went to dates on the mayhem fest and Korn and Slipknot tour, didnt see King at mayhem. Missed their set for the Korn and Slipknot show. Old me is kicking myself in the ass.
Badass podcast.Just started listening to this band. Great stuff. Seen Jack off Jill in 1997 in Austin tx. Met Daisy Berkowitz from Marilyn Manson playing guitar for them
I havent heard anything from this band that I've been able to grasp onto. YET. I've only heard a couple songs. I'm not much of a nu metaller. The calm and articulated voice talking about some of the shit these two are talking about could honestly work as spoken word samples in some intense deathcore music. We went down a path on this episode, I was locked in.
David, thank you for putting yourself out there. I found you during a point in my life where there was so much fear and pain. You motivated me to fight through it, overcome what felt impossible, hold my loved ones tighter, focus on what i had to do to get better, and slay my own Goliath’s. Your spirit vibrated the tiny embers in my inner core and over time my heart became a fire hazard. I can’t fathom my life without you. Same goes for Jonathan Davis and Corey Taylor. You three are everything man. My tri force in Zelda. 🤘🫶
He takes three steps forward, one to the left. One to the right, three steps back, then he lights a candle, takes one bite of non binary energy, but doesn’t chew it, so the energy doesn’t get offended. He waits till it’s properly absorbed and then hits record.
I'm ashamed or proud but glad to say that 2 times in my life 1 single song changed my life in a pretty big way but I appreciate regardless for the music they made and now that I think about they were both from Michigan the first was 1999 Eminem Brain Damge 2nd 2020 King 810 Vedettas my astrol plain lost cabin pressure and just went nose up into the firmament that day between 1:11-1:21 of that track dude it will be forever chemically burned into the inside of my ears eye lids Thanks David most underrated musician alive not counting me I don't count yet I don't believe in keeping count anymore tho okay ima shut now -CLU1812- up over & out
Just skipped over Anachronism like it was nothing yet it was the best thing this band ever did. The guitarist from Chiodos, that was in King at the time, most likely wrote the whole thing. Strange.
YUP SURVIVOR GUILT IS REAL IM FROM BAY CITY 45 MINS NORTH OF FLINT & LOST & AM STILL LOOSIN WAY 2 MANY🙏☮️♥️✝️ & YEAH I GET DOWNLOADS OF LYRICS & IM A LIL BIT PSYCHIC ITS SHOCKING🤯 #MERKMITTEN
My band played with KING alot around 09 in the flint area and they were unable to function, fighting everywhere, showed up to a festival with mutiple animal carcasses abd tossed them into the pit. Unreal to be involved.
When David says he knows he was “ supposed to rock be on stage and play with bands” sounds like a very jack black think to say and it’s weird because David is being dead serious
This interview was incredible! So chill & insightful. I was hoping to see them in Memphis but the show was cancelled. Hopefully they will come back around soon!
Played with them at the Modern exchange when Jason from Chiodos was with them....Liferuiner/Dr acula tour..I think 2008. Band was nothing like this. Don't remember any of these dudes.
I wish Yavid would do a fucking podcast. He doesn’t even need to be a rockstar he’s just fun to listen to. If Yavid started a pod and actually took it seriously it would be the next JRE in his own way
It's crazy how well spoken and intelligent David is. And watch Eugene when David is talking he just looks at him and listens it's super respectful I can't imagine all the Shit these two have went through together
Dude you ain’t lying… listening to him he’s so much further along his human journey than most people can ever hope to be. 🤘
Idk what type of ppl you hang.around but.when somebody speaks its normal to listen to what they are saying and look at them.. David just seems like a man of average intelligence.. He didn't say anything very intelligent? But compared to some idiots he probably seems like a genius

LMFAO
Been an 810 fan for just over 10 years because of this exact reason. Remember hearing Midwest monsters on one of the Total Deathcore collections and they’ve have been on repeat ever since!
This is the most I've seen Yavid or Eugene open up in an interview. Good stuff.
King 810 is so different but i dig tf outta them. So much raw emotion in their lyrics. David really is a tortured genius
First song I discovered was "Fat around the heart"
What a song to start with. When I heard the story that inspired that song, my jaw dropped!
Garza….thanks for the letting the guests actually talk. So many interviewers cut them off and it’s so annoying. So thank you for doing that.
Never clicked on a Garza podcast faster in my life! Great episode!!!!
Same! I just saw this in my feed
This is prob the most intersting interview I've watched on here and learn from, King 810 is an awesome band.
I loved this episode. I really appreciate how you let the guests speak without interruptions its brilliant. Good shit man
Our boys 🤝🏼
This was a rare one. A lot of wisdom and things to reflect on when it comes to life.
Greatest interview done with this genius underrated band.
i knew seeing king 810 open for slipknot that they were something special and authentic. this band gives me feelings that 1st hearing cradle of filth or marilyn manson gave me! also being that half my family came from michigan, i got right away where they were coming from!!! also my bud from here in texas jams with em! so there is that too!!!! good stuff garza!!!
Maynard James Keenan and David Gunn simply fascinate me. Artists who truly don't want the spotlight, but they love the outlet.
Love to see Garza cover some more controversial bands. King is still one of my favs.
The stories about David chilling outside the school and the Kmart robbery were hilarious
This is one great band. Thanks for the pod.
Super excited for this one

You didn't happen to go to SYS Fest in 2009/10 did you? That set was WILD. Carcasses and fights and they literally shut it down, cops everywhere.
This pod rly does get guests I wana hear from.
Good shit always and much love every1
Awesome interview! I really like the depth to which this displays the intersecting paths of the circumstances of their physical reality and an evolving creative flow.
Grateful for you're music king 810 well spoken. survivor's guilt whenever you come from a dark place is very real. Authentic and relatable music to ride too Thank you for speaking truth instead of watered down bs
I can listen to David talk for hours and hours. I only discovered King 810 recently but hes one of the most interesting people i learned about lately
Garza always brings some amazing interviews, but I gotta say THIS is probably the most inspirational one I've ever seen, this is deep.
Seeing you both in 2014 at Mayhem fest was amazing
Goddamn I love King 810! They should be bigger but artistic n financial freedom is a valid trade-off.
I've been jaming them since 2014. I went on my first tour with my band in 2015 all through the east coast. I'm confident King was one of the influences that gave me that energy to bust ass and land a tour and get the band going. Of course we crashed and burned but I'm not giving up lol.
What band are you in? Can I hear your music
Right on! Don't give up!😄👍
He is the alpha and omega, after all
@HoshiFanatic what's your band called buddy? I grew up with these guys playing since 2009 with them. Rowdy group but if they knew you they would ride for you

King 810 deserves so much!
David is very well spoken a lot of things he said really resonate. Garza and David are also instrospective which made for another great interview. 💥
The he first time I listened to King was when they were touring with Slipknot, what a band dude, what a voice I love them, they are so talented and different
I know king. Didn't know of Garza. Great job hosting man
About time these under rated beasts get on a decent podcast 👏
Hell yeah Garza! Love king, so sick!
KING 810 the GOAT. There is absolutely no one around like them. They are completely unique.
Hell yeah, huge fan of King. This is awesome
This episode was so very beautiful and a work of art. Basically, an aesthetic experience par excellence.
awesome pod sorry i took so long to find u haha but all things king get recommended to me. legendary
These guys are crazy. Love it.
i remember seeing them back when the guitar player of chiodos was in the band, at a venue called Station 4, it was the most violent crushing concert i think I've ever been in the presence of, still to this day.
it was before they tagged 810 on the name KING
Station 4 in St. Paul?
@@jacobtinucci2642 that’s the one!
@@jacobtinucci2642 that’s the one!
Yup. I don’t think a lot of people know they were KING
I’m so glad that I found this podcast and channel
Good shit
I was surprised to find he is straight edge, but that's from listening to David rap album. that's good
Never really paid attention to then till this interview. When you hear deep philosophical passions for your band I have to check them out.
Anyone remember Jason Hale from Chiodos starting this band? OG King before the 810 part came. That song Libertine was fire
Grew up with these dudes around 09 playing alot of shows with Jason and these dudes are everything they're made out to be.
This interview sold a book instantaneously. For context I do not even know what king 810 sounds like, I just liked this so much that as soon as I heard this dude wrote a book I was like, lets go
Sic! The book is amazing. I couldn’t stop. Thanks for watching
Love King 🤴 ❤️. Such an incredibly creative band, most people probably wouldn't have a clue about much variety there is in their music. Check the Queen EP for an example, all songs dedicated to women and plenty of love songs written on piano etc.
Thank you Garza for this ep. KING is love
yes these guys are sic! thank you
Young me went to dates on the mayhem fest and Korn and Slipknot tour, didnt see King at mayhem. Missed their set for the Korn and Slipknot show. Old me is kicking myself in the ass.
Badass podcast.Just started listening to this band. Great stuff. Seen Jack off Jill in 1997 in Austin tx. Met Daisy Berkowitz from Marilyn Manson playing guitar for them
"They said we need it right and you're the only one we trust -
so promise that you'll write about us."
Went to see these guys on the thekla boat in Bristol...amazing night, then took my son to his first gig...slipknot korn and king810
Amazing self awareness and truth mind... a lot of Tao Knowledge on this soul. Thank you for sharing that...
Yoooo was that a new intro or am I trippin? Either way it’s sick 😂
"you want some merch" yea sure, right after i fish this stick out me face! haha. great interview.
Such an epic chat! 💕
Respect and blessings
I'd really like to see Dickie Allen on the podcast I'm surprised he hasn't been on here yet bro is a legend
New fan! Love Garza! Safe space! I dig!
Ps.
This is for David: You have big shoes to fill, brother. Step wisely.

They have a few spoken word tracks "Anatomy 1:1 - 1:5". "Eyes" and "Devil Don't Cry" are very nice acoustic songs
Let’s fuckin go🤘 I was just wondering when these guys were gonna be on. One of the few podcasts I watch. These guys are underrated
Yavid is trying so hard not to laugh or show happy emotions in this whole pod
Did we ever find out where homie was when they would ride??

Bro summed up my life in the begining lol feeling alone but its your own doing
You should have the band Distartica on the podcast, they are a thrash metal band and the lead singer is also the drummer and he's also blind
I’m wondering what is his rituals to record 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
He takes three steps forward, one to the left. One to the right, three steps back, then he lights a candle, takes one bite of non binary energy, but doesn’t chew it, so the energy doesn’t get offended. He waits till it’s properly absorbed and then hits record.
