  • Today’s color review is Sherwin Williams Egret White, many people will say it’s an off-white paint color, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m going to show you what makes this paint color so complicated, how it reacts to natural lighting and I’m going to give you some valuable tips you should know.
    If you want to prevent from making a costly mistake and you want the perfect interior paint colors for your home then feel free to check out the link down below.

    It IS a very complex color! I chose it because my kitchen tile has taupe swirls and it looks gorgeous in there. Yes some walls look white, some look grey and some look violet greige. The other color which probably looked even BETTER in my kitchen was Panda White but I loved this Egret so much I just had to have it! Now it's going in bedrooms I think. It's a fresh clean color more so than the Panda which is beautiful but this one is just so different.

      Hi Cindy, thank you for sharing:) You did a great job of highlighting how Egret White reacts to lighting and how the different undertones reveal themselves. You are spot-on:)

    I wish I saw this video before I painted my living room this color last summer. It is a very tricky color. In some lighting it looks like a nice off-white that I was hoping for, but most of the time it looks taupe with violet undertones like you said. And yes, my living room is north facing, with not a lot of natural light. It's a beautiful color, but unfortunately I'm going to have to repaint eventually.

    Thank you so much! I’m looking for an exterior color for my home. Can you share info on SW Pediment with a complimentary trim color. I prefer warm colors looking to tie in stained timbers & shutters.

    I've been picking egret for bedsheets. That taupey violet undertone is great for cool pink and soft blue romantic themed bedrooms that you don't want bright white but don't want a yellow off white beige either. Warmth without what I refer to as a dirty yellow look.

    Hi Jacob, have you done a review on Eider White? Our new construction home has a standard Dover White but for just $780 for a 2400 sq. ft. home we have an option to choose White Duck (Saw your review), Eider White, Aesthetic White, Moderate White, Incredible White, Antique White, or Divine White. We are leaning more towards White Duck or Eider White. Any tips or advice? Thanks in advance!

    Will it be a good choice for a great room, with cathedral ceilings with dovetail color cabinets. The flooring is a distressed, looking grays with splashes of warm whites.

    Does Egret White pair well with stained woodwork? The wood work has a tinge of cherry stain color.

    I painted my hallway Egret White I order to lighten it up and I love ❤️ the way it looks, it has a nice sand color to it, however I am trying to repaint the inside of my house one room at a time. My dining room is what I am working on now. It was Lobster Red 2005 vintage color which I loved but getting tired and wanted a change. I have put some Egret White up but it looks too cool. The dining room has an East facing Bay window 2 South facing window and some North facing light coming in from the kitchen. My table is a light gray that has a tendency to change to a light muted blue and the top is more natural color. My husband wants the red back for drama I want something in between dark and light. I have tried Natural Tan and sometimes it looks too warm and sometimes it looks just right. My kitchen cabinets are birch stained early American and furniture is Dark Brown. I think the Natural tan will be fine in the Living Room and Kitchen since 98 percent of the light is coming from the north but I am at a loss what to do with my dining room, which is adjacent to my Egret White Hallway and my as well as being just off the kitchen and living room. I just want something that will coordinate well with out painting cabinets and changing furniture.

    Great information on Egret white, I like this color and plan to use it for my house's (exterior) siding.I painted swatches to see how the color would look like on a south facing house, I still like it so far. I plan to use extra white for trim and iron ore for the shutters and metal roof. What are your thoughts?

      How did your project turn out? Considering Egret for my siding as you mentioned.

    What is your fave off white trim and cabinet color with accessible beige? Looking for a calm earthy vibe

      Hi Brooke, I don't have any favorite colors. All interior paint colors look beautiful when it's paired perfectly with the fixed and furnished items of a home. I don't have a list of off whites strictly for trims to pair with accessible beige. I select the correct trim colors based on all the other fixed elements in the kitchen and home. I can't give you the write answer without any visuals. Maybe try SW Greek Villa.

      Hello, a lot of people love Alabaster by SW. If you look up Jenna Sue on Instagram, she uses Accessible Beige on her trim/doors, and Alabaster on the walls in her home, so it's probably opposite of what you're doing. But the colors look great together.

      I just painted Accessible Beige and used Pure White for the trim and it looks nice not to stark just right..

    I'm looking for a off white color for cabinets. I don't want yellow undertones or too creamy. Looking more in the brown you said the color could look grey. My sceme is more earthy traditional. What other off white color would you recomend.

      Put bright white poster board up next to your main elements to see which undertone you need. Like your floors, your tile etc. If it's taupe, then you pick a taupe off white paint and paint it on posterboard and move it all over all day long to see how it works.. If it's rose undertones, you need a touch of pink in the paint. If it's green/beige you need the same undertone. If you put say, a green beige undertone paint in a room with mostly rose it will never look right. If your room is mostly brown earthy that means it's a "dirty" palate versus crisp and clean so you want a muted paint, not a bright crisp one (like Egret - probably wouldn't work)

    it is a fantastic color for a basement family room / TV room. It keeps everything light, but it has some warmth to it. And if its in a basement with few windows, you don't have to worry about it changing colors. If you use warm light bulbs it will add to the warm feel of the color. Really great and came out even better than expected in our basement.

      Does it make your basement look dark? We are deciding to do egret white in our basement and i am kinda confused.

    • @aucklandkar
      @aucklandkar 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aalamkaur7393 Nope. Not dark at all. It’s light but has more warmth and depth than a stark white.

    You always talk about south and north facing rooms, my house’s windows are easy and west facing, how does this affect color?

    • @adriel7229
      @adriel7229 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was just reading about it. My open kitchen/living room gets east, south, and west facing light, but the living room walls never get direct light, are always in shadow. It's so tricky. So, east is a yellow light in the morning, west is an orange light in the evening. Kylie M has some articles about the different directions of light.

    Have you painted your home with off-white paint color and how did it turn out for you?

      I have painted an east-facing wall with Egret White. The color changes throughout the day. Right now it is 9:45 am in late February and the wall appears light grey. In the evening, it appears more griege. I am trying to find a color that pairs well with my trim and doors as I do not have the time to paint them. I painted everything - 10 gallons - with a color the was 50% of the trim color. YUCK! It appears yellow when the light hits it. I need to repaint most or all of my walls (open concept) but I cannot find the perfect color. I have paint color fatigue!
