    Hey guys! Behind the scenes this lesson also encompassed a lot of work on the Patron's Keybinds, the reasoning behind the control scheme, learning DCS as a software product and finally actually flying the jet and learning about the F/A-18C!

    Excellent training video. I actually sat and watched the entire thing. I will try some of the things I learned from watching. Thanks Spud, you really are a great and dedicated aid to the DCS community!

    Hey, well done on this flight tutorial and great idea with taking on students, showing them how it's done. You seem quite knowledgeable on many aspects of flight combat and DCS. So much to learn and so little time. Keep 'em coming!

    Sitting here, watching this, thinking to myself... Damn this is soo friggin' cool! Flying together from all around the world, teaching how to fly. Again, this is seriously sick!

    I thought BALT only held altitude, not heading. That's what HSEL is for.

    • @Spudspike
      @Spudspike  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You are right, however when you turn on BALT it autotrims out the jet to maintain altitude and as a result makes it much much easier for a new DCS player to maintain heading as well

    Really enjoy training videos!! Would be interested in the AB configuration for the Warthog. Is there a way to have the engines Stop and Start work on the Warthog?

    Nice video. So after cv ins align and take off from SC. My ccip line appears to be stuck at an angle as if in auto mode aligning to pre planned target. Anyone else?

    Timestamps on the video would be great, I really love the content. I'd probably pay for an hour of your time once I get a head tracker.

      lt_d4n well that’s a pretty solid setup! One thing that I would do is in Nvida settings make sure all of the AA settings are set to application controlled and in DCS I would use SSAA instead of MSAA should get a sharper picture with less stutters, also make sure to double check your monitor settings

    The trick with Warthog? If it's something with 3D printer, I have a printer.

    Hey man if you still do trainings and have a discord I also recently got the F/A-18 and have been struggling a lot with the CCIP modes and BVR engagements, Honestly kinda just general advice on the jet as a hole, and I would honestly love some advice. I am newer to DCS and have no one to help me other than youtube haha

    WHY
    WHY DO YOU FLARE THE HORNET
    WHY

    • @mushroombadger4780
      @mushroombadger4780 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because he was'nt trimmed out. Was using stick to maintain AoA.

    • @Spudspike
      @Spudspike  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everything was trimmed out, there was no flare there, but contrary to popular belief you don’t want to just smash a Hornet onto the runway. Most people land the jet way too hard.

      @@Spudspike happy to admit when I am wrong, and replicated the same landing, I am indeed wrong. The confusion was the way the E bracket swings like it does but didn't account for the crosswind. Nicely done!

    • @robbiemane
      @robbiemane 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Spudspike so you’re saying going from -400 decent rate to -160 on touchdown isn’t a flare? If you’re teaching people to land a hornet you should really have them land properly so they don’t carry bad habits onto the boat. Even if you aren’t flaring you’re coming down FAR to soft because the standard decent rate is -750 on land and carrier
