a) USB-C is faster than Lightning at both data transfer and charging
b) USB-C charging cables are often symmetrical, so you can plug either end into your charging brick
c) Even if you only use Apple products, you probably have a USB-C charger anyway

I have never understood the elitism that comes with having a certain brand of phone. They're phones at the end of the day and ultimately do the same thing. I've switched between both iPhone and Android and have has pleasant experiences with both.

I remember back in 7th or 8th grade that my English teacher was doing a split room activity.
One of the promts was you using an Android or iPhone and literally everyone except me had an iPhone in the classroom. So just imagine everyone on the opposite side of you in the classroom. The teacher felt bad for me so he went on the same side as me since he used both before. What really mind baffled me was one of the arguments one of the girls made was that "the camera quality is better" when Android has pretty good camera quality as well. Nobody made fun of me thankfully (well not in front of me at least idk if they did behind my back or not) but it kinda made me feel kinda guilty about having an Android not gonna lie. I ended up not caring though since a phone is just a phone and both are about equally as good just as long it works properly and you can use it for whatever you want.

I don't have to lurk 4chan anymore, no more scanning sites for interesting material, Mutahar does the work for me, then condenses the relevant information and presents it from a point of view that aligns closely with my perspective. Saves me so much time and effort, damn man, i almost feel obligated to join ur patreon or i feel like im stealing or taking advantage or something... 1st time I've felt that way from commentary, outstanding man.
I use Android. I like game console emulators. I like having an actual file system. I like that I can easily root my phone and disable most in-app advertising. Most importantly of all I like that I never have to use iTunes and can simply drag and drop files onto my phone without having to care about anything else. I do miss when Android phones used to all have SD card slots as well cuz that used to be another huge benefit to them.
I hate when devices remove sd slots but android is my go to OS. Even though I dont currently own a working phone right now, I would take anything.

On a more serious note - my 350 dollar android beats the iPhone 12 in almost every specification except screen resolution and Camera quality. Better battery, RAM, and processor.

in terms of Apple killing background processes for better battery life, you can also make Android do that selectively with battery saver, or you can make it do it explicitly in dev options. They're just off by defualt.

My android Is like that, going from 100 to 20 in somewhere around 4 hours, but then that remaining 20% just refuses to fizzle out, and lasts too much, up to 8 hours. Then they 100% can last up to 8 hours, but as soon as it gets to 20, it decides to speed run itself until it reaches 0 and dies.

My IPhone doesn't last 10 minutes, it turns off almost instantly after I charge it and turn it on. The battery deteriorates over time and you have to pay apple to change it.. that's one of their schemes to make money off your back. And unfortunately other brands also removed the removable batteries cause they saw apple got away with it and they could exploit the consumer too

My exact experiences summed up.
My android cost me the same amount as previous iPhones I had purchased. My last iphone bricked when the iOS updated and it was unrepairable. I was deeply annoyed by this, as I had just bought the iPhone less than a year ago at that time. So I now have a OnePlus 9 Pro and have for almost a year. I find this phone very pleasant. It has a shit ton of features and customizable elements. I can very precisely control my device privacy and security, lay out, etc... And the camera is very good too.

I respect Apple products, but I hate their selling scheme and anti-repair tactics. How can they call themselves eco-friendly, if they don't allow 3dr party technicians to repair their products and instead force users to buy a whole new phone for the price of kidney?
as for me i dont respect apple products because their said products are what leads to the benchmark for anti repair tactics....apple claims they dont earn much in the overly costly repairs because they cannot salvage the "broken parts" (saying it in quotations because they are soo easy to solder or plug back in only if you know what, where and how to fix) which is false because they CAN salvage, its just that they WONT salvage and risk the increasing amount of ewaste
3rd party repair shops KNOW how to repair the said phones and CAN repair the said phones (even if it is extremely hard to pry open the phone) but apple butts in and denies said service for more expensive option and yet less resourceful one)

Androids are a lot easier to repair. They also last a fucking lifetime if you take care of it. Some are also prone to upgrade (new CPU and such). Plus, they're a lot lighter on your wallet.

I've used both but im "stuck" at OP7 Pro now, its still fast, 90hz is just enough, unlimited Google storage(pictures atleast) with custom rom, sideloading apks, ad blocking, rooting without having to fight about warranty and so on are something that keeps me on Android, also this bad boy can take so many drops without breaking.

I bought a got a NUU G5 mostly for gaming on and so far has been great. Only paid around $100 for it. The speakers on it are great for music too. The lowest volume setting is as loud as my old IPhone 5s was lol

I've had my s21ultra since it came out and the battery still holds for 24hrs easily, unless I'm playing games on it for over 8hrs. I don't see the power drop like you said aside from that I feel the same about both, they both got goods and bads like I like the fact you can do motion capture better on the iphone

I really like having a clean home screen on my phone and it's just impossible with ios.
They just discovered widgets, they made a big deal out of their app drawer that's 10 years late, and even now you can't move the icons where you want, they will allign top-to-bottom left-to-right and you will like it.
I've always prefered my 4-5 most used apps on a single row on the bottom of my main screen, such a basic thing can't be achieved on ios.
Androids are for financially saavy people. If you're spending 1,600$ for a phone that does the same thing as a 50$ phone, you've got scammed.
The ability to manually install apps is really the deciding factor to me. The fact that Apple wants to be everyone's mom is just weird.
It helps for people like elderly who need a phone but don't understand well.

I use it for it was one of the cheaper phones I could get on the market. Just wanted something on hand to call emergency services incase of emergency.

I run apps like syncthing that requires being able to create and manage folders on my device. I use this to create a peer to peer network between my devices allowing me to keep the files in sync without relying on external cloud services.

I was using iPhone for the longest time. Switched to Android when the Samsung Note 10+ came out, after that I upgraded to the LG Wing (about a month before they announced it was being dropped from future Android updates), I have really been wanting a Nothing Phone 1 or a Huawei, but at the end of the day I like some sort of gimmick that makes the phone more unique. I am also honestly thinking about getting the iPhone 14 Pro Max (I prefer the bigger size phone and the regular 14 is literally the 13 with like a better camera same internals). To me, its whatever phone interests me, idgaf about who the maker is, or what text bubble color I have. If you are messaging me, its probably through discord or snapchat, or (i know this is crazy) on a phone call, I barely actually text people.

In HS I was in the cusp when it was 50/50 between iPhone and Android. I mostly had a 3GS but the S4 was legendary.
I've got myself a higher end android device pretty recently and the battery topic is super relatable. I have to charge my phone twice a day if I use it heavily, if I use it lightly, then the battery lasts until evening with some reserve left on it. I personally have only experienced android devices and would like to dip my feet in iOS department to experience it.
