Nothing about her is great. She sold her soul to the Illuminati. I couldn't help but notice the triangular pendants on her necklace(s).

The first time I saw her on "This is Us" I thought, this woman is so brave and vulnerable. She's beautiful and flawed and does not shy away from being honest and authentic. This makes her beautifully brave. I admire that!

I have battled obesity all my life. I'm 62 and diabetic. My insulin was costing $900 per month. I've lost over 100 pounds 3 times only to gain it back. Most recently I've lost 140 pounds then gained 40 back. I'm back on track and lost 25 pounds. I'm trying to lose about 70 more. I am healthier than I have been in years and completely off insulin.

Congrats on letting addiction win. 65 years of abuse and still fighting it instead of fixing it. Good its so hard not to close ones mouth while in front of food. Just awful.

I've been reading all the comments.. and my conclusion is that Chrissy Metz is Living out Loud.. she loves acting and she is doing a damn good job of it.. she seems fearless and in command of her craft. Most obese people live in the shadows. so for me she has the confidence to pursue her dreams.... it takes strength and conviction to believe in oneself.

I really hope the character can lose weight because of how much pain I feel for the character, but I keep remembering that there is an actual real life person behind the character which makes it so difficult, in a story a character can just easily lose weight, but in real life it's very hard.

More than the physical effort and healthy diet, it takes massive mental power and discipline to create good weight-controlling habits. Those old unhealthy habits are hard to change, believe you me! Hard to change but still possible :)

I'm usually indifferent when I watch TH-cam videos. I just watch to be up on information, be it politics, world news, celebrity entertainment, etc. Now, this video was great! First off, the show "This Is Us' is amazing. Also, I really like hearing the backstory of the actors on this show. Mind you, I already knew of "Bec" from her teen pop-star days, "Jack" from "Gilmore Girls", "Kevin" from "Y&R", "Randall from cop shows like "Third Watch", "Criminal Minds" and "Without a Trace", but I didn't know "Kate". Thank you for letting me in on her! Also, one of these days, I'll have to tune into "American Horror Story"!

I don't watch much reg TV so I didn't know about this show. From what I gather it was a hit. However, I just viewed the TV show cancellation list and this show was on it. Hopefully once this pandemic is over..... they will bring these shows back or make spin offs. It's easy to put yourself out there when you're young, in top shape and beautiful. These people are also a dime a dozen. You also need talent, the right management and timing....and a lot of determination. I don't know this actress Chrissy but she didn't let anything stand in her way of becoming what she wanted to be. I admire that immensely. She refuses to be a victim of ignorant people.

i Absolutely LOVE her character. I completely imagine she is the same in person. So intelligent, human, normal. I love that her character is one who can laugh, be a really good person, etc. People are so sick of seeing heavy women cast as mean and bitchy OR strictly an object of crass humor.

  • @youcancallmevette6545

I have been thin and active my entire life and always considered myself a very good person.
I am older now and got put on a medicine that caused 70lb. weight gain. I am unmotivated now and find myself in fear to go in public because I know what I would think to myself and honestly sometimes joke about in regards to another person's weight.
I don't believe in public humiliation at ALL or being mean in general, or at least I didn't think I did. I was friends with everyone and I didn't say anything mean to anyone's face so I thought it was okay and I was a good person even though I had harsh judgements about others and their lifestyle when clearly over weight, especially toward parents and caregivers of children with weight issues. I thought they should be ashamed of themselves for not taking control of their child's health in a world where "fat kids" were the first target to be bullied. I actually viewed it as a form of child abuse.
I myself never had experience with it so I was an idiot on the issue. I had a grandiose attitude and never realized what a harsh and nasty person I was being.
I am so ashamed to admit this but it really bothers me. If I am harshly criticized for what deeply personal information I am about to share then I deserve it because I never took the time to learn that medications, health issues, food addiction and a whole slew of other factors tie into someone's weight. Weight problems exist for many reasons and not simply because "fat people are just lazy" (oh its so hard to even type those words out because they are so mean and I have always thought I was so kind...SMDH...because I didn't put people down or joke or be critical of them to their face. I am so ashamed of that part of my life. Especially since I already knew how three dimensional a person's life is but too stupid to see I didn't realize how one dimensional I actually was.)
I don't use words like I used to because they hurt. Now I don't look at someone overweight that is eating and think "yeah, go ahead, shove some more in."
My weight lifter husband and I no longer look at people from a far and say "I can only imagine how nasty their house is", or "Hey Honey, if you are hungry I bet she has a twinkie or a turkey leg in her purse, just go ask, but I doubt she shares", then break into laughter. (Going to make myself cry, we were so awful.)
Now when I see someone with weight issues or someone with a child with weight issues and wonder what their story is and if the weight problem has caused depression like it has with me. I wonder if they feel like there is no point in trying to loose it because they have lost their will to try or if they feel like it won't matter bc of the core reason they have the weight issue in the first place, whatever that may be.
I could sit here and say that the medicine made me gain all of it but that would be a lie and why lie at this point. I already have a knot in my stomach admitting this because I am afraid of the backlash or cruelty of others, but I am willing to take it because I hope that even just one person reads this and learns something from my mistakes and sheer ignorance because that means it will spare at least one person's feelings who already feel bad enough without all the critical and judgemental eyes they deal with on a daily basis from irresponsible people that behave the same way I used to.)
The truth is, it wasn't 100% the medication's fault. After I gained 50 lbs, the other 20 was because I just gave up and didn't care anymore and started eating whatever I wanted and whenever I wanted while telling myself it was okay because it wasn't MY fault, it was the medication's fault. I justified my own short comings and laziness because I already felt bad about myself so what did it matter?
It was this thought process, ignorance, denial and self pity that led to a downward spiral and I packed on another 20 lbs. because I was being a hypocrite and blaming it all on the meds I had to take.
I told myself that I was different because my weight gain was from meds and not laziness like other fat people so I wasn't as bad as them.
Even when I readily decided to cause more damage to my health (all while under the veil of health, how is that for irony??!!), I still didnt realize or even stop to think I was actually ignorant.
It wasnt until I felt like I was now the person who the athletic couple joked about having a twinkie in her purse instead of the envied skinny girl I had been my whole life that I changed.
Now it was ME who felt like people were probably wondering what my obvious gym buff of a husband was doing with a chunky dunker like me, that I finally began to educate myself on the topic.
The education was spurred not by the need or desire to learn from curiosity but rather born from my own selfishness and narcissistic attitude since I was empathizing with the very people I targeted for the first time in my life...how shameful...
Even though my thoughts and "wise cracks" were never straight to the face of my victim, I still somehow didn't see my uppity ass attitude when I always prided myself in the fact that I didn't think I was any better than anyone else. WOW!!! How out of touch with reality was I??!! Holy shit!!! I still don't know how I could be so Damn blind and I am so very ashamed, so so ashamed of myself.
I want to say that I am sorry. I am genuinely and deeply sorry to every person I have ever made feel bad or feel less than human. I am sorry I was so ignorant and laughed at the expense of others. I am sorry I thought it was ok. I am sorry to every man, woman and child I have ever passed undue judgement on for whatever reason I justified the cruel behavior with. I am sorry it took me getting to the point I have before ever even thinking my thought process was wrong and behavior and word choices were justified and or appropriate to the situation.
I am sorry I didn't try to help or understand sooner.
This is me showing you that my apology is sincere and genuine in the only way I can think to. I am publicly humiliating myself in hopes of saving even one person from it in the future. Even if it is one time, then whatever happens is worth it to me because of the shame I have brought upon myself and my family.
My mother did a far better job than what I was reflecting. (proof that even when you are the best parent you can be, there are times when the actions of children have absolutely nothing to do with their upbringing.), another subject of my immaturity.
Now I find myself inspired by the very people I used to be so critical of, especially when I made comments about someone's house based off of their BMI. That is just beyond absolute ridiculousness...smdh...
I have had a HUGE slice of humble pie, as a matter of fact I have had the whole Damn pie and its probably the only thing I should continue to glutonize so my heart can grow bigger and my ego shrink. I can eat all I want and never get fat, and yet its been the hardest thing I have ever had to swallow.
I want to thank in advance all the people who will be kind to me for this no matter how big or small as I am undeserving; however, I would also like to thank those who will ridicule me for this because even though it will hurt it will make me even more humble which means I will have even more compassion for my fellow man and the positive effects will continue to ripple out for all eternity. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.
On the bright side I no longer joke about what others carry on their person in terms of food. Now my husband and I joke about my own weight gain.
Things have changed in our lives. Now If I see a person whose weight I envy, my husband asks me if I want him get the Twinkie out of my purse and throw it at them, to which I reply, " both of them" (meaning both Twinkies, not both people)!
Wishing everyone health, wealth and prosperity in all aspects of your lives. Remember that cruelty is nothing more than ignorance and the person or people dishing it are no better than that of a school yard bully. They are not enviable winners by any stretch of the imagination no matter how good they may look.
    xoxo -Vette-
(Damn, didn't know this video would cause me to write a thesis statement!! Thanks to all who made it this far! I'm not even gonna proof read so again, you are a better person than me!😁)

I had the sleeve 16 months ago, lost 113 pounds and have been healthy, normal weight for several months now. I was sad she didn't have weight loss surgery, losing as much as she needs to lose on her own is almost impossible. I love the show but I hate how they talk like this is all about her looks, she is a beautiful woman but she is unhealthy and will not live a long life.

I have no clue how difficult the road is to lose weight. I was up as much as 152 lbs and am down to 109 lbs by making walking a lifestyle and getting bread an pasta out of the house. When you weigh as much as Chrissy, walking the 5-7 miles that I did is no easy feat. Putting that weight on did not occur overnight and does not come off overnight. I will never criticize those who re overweight, but it is NOT healthy.... diabetes, high blood pressure and it is a major strain on your heart muscle. Thought for today: It is much harder to go uphill than to go downhill. Meaning: it is easier to put on the weight than to take it off..... No one can tell me that it is healthy..... and you can be cutting your life short...

    • @patsychavez9285

you're right, I was overweight when I was younger and as I got older all the effects of being obese , diabetes, high blood pressure, bad knees, and foot pain. the reality is that you're body can only take so much and as you age it falls apart because of the damage you've done to it when you were young. I understand about body image accepting yourself for what you are but the reality is that you are killing yourself, food isn't worth it. I've lost weight and healthy now and tell myself why did I wait so long to do this.

Chrissy Metz is a beautiful and talented actress. I worry about her excess weight is a dangerous state to be in. Maybe she could slowly eliminate certain weight gaining triggers. Start by eliminating one food item say for example anything with sugar in it. This alone could make a world of difference to her health. She has a great future ahead, but not if her excess weight causes her health to decline. God bless you Chrissy and stay positive.

I can relate to her. I have to watch everything I eat or it a goes to fat. I had to find hobbies and other satisfying things to do other than eat. My horses, excercise, my Cane Corso dogs, reading and handwork. In my profile pic I was heavier. Some people are not born with a great metabolism.

Love Chrissy, great actress & a very real person. Beauty is within a person but Chrissy has both. No point being thin an having an ugly heart. A person should not be judged by physical appearance but how they treat others. Thin or not kindness love an sharing shows exactly who you are.❤❤❤

No one who has ever not been understands that it is the way your body processes food. I am not as big as this lady but I totally get the struggle I have two friends who can't gain weight if they are ice cream 9xs a day. I eat it once in a week and I gain weight.

    • @lacee7494
      @lacee7494 6 ปีที่แล้ว

How old are your friends? Most young people who can eat all they want and not gain weight can't keep eating like that as they get older. No one needs ice cream every day.
