El Alamein with choppers was horible. I was on a server with 127 bots. In fact they didnt teamkill me like the mates in the next round. I didnt even tried this elf mode. The discription just was enough. Thx Dice and EA!
They completely shut down portal XP to prevent grinding ai enemies and then put out their own weekly zombie mode where you grind ai enemies with getting full XP. Did you experience the release time when they had breakthrough checkpoints on rooftops with 128 players, where 64 enemies did just camp like 4 elevators which where the only way to get there except a really rare well piloted chopper. It took the community less than one day to find out it plays like shit but seems their play test and quality check didn't notice. We didn't have a scoreboard. No squad management. No voice chat. In a multilayer game where the only content is to play with friends. They cut the campaign to put all their glorious efforts into multi player to release maps with hundreds meters of walking distance and sight lines and barely any cover from snipers and helicopters. It is beyond human ability to explain the complete scope of their decision making before launch and through most of the time. They put out a live service game where the first season launched over 6 months after the start, with no content asking the way, and then provide one new map where old dlc had 4. And within the time to season 1, bf4 had 3 or 4 dlc released with more maps and weapons in each of them. I could go on and on.

This style mode worked great in Battlefront 2 as Ewok Hunt. There it was dark and scary in the forest. This doesn't hit the same way at all here, especially with the 50 ticket limit.

Seriously... DICE Devs most of the time has no good "rhyme or reason" when creating game modes. Kinda explains their map designs, at least for 2042.

I would say the testing team for this mode should never be allowed to work in gaming again, but we all know there was absolutely no testing team for this mode.
4:05 shooting the grappling hook really works in this situation it does 50 damage

And the other thing is how are you supposed to get combat ribbons that mode anyway, they didn't think that through when designing this game mode dice really screwed this one up massively
You can't. You can, however, earn combat ribbons in standard game modes and they will also count.
There's nothing wrong with adding funny modes, the thins is DICE's execution is so lazy - portal has so much potential, imagine if they made rally race modes with mario kart-esque mechanics, an infection mode like this but with crazy speed and jump height, integrating vehicles somehow
idk, seems lazy, and DICE has yet to add a single legitimately funny and entertaining gamemode to portal - in fact this elves gamemode isnt even new, it was added to the game in its first christmas right after launch

i think you need more health ( like 150% health or maybe 200% health) since they have guns. unlimited smoke grenades would help too. maybe increased speed too. like halo has for their infected mode
It's crazy because I just watched an old TBAG video where he was playing infected in portal and it was light-years ahead of this crap. They had smoked like you said and it looked fun!

Half the time when I died to an elf in this game mode I never even got infected I would just respawn as a soldier 😂😂
Ironically I had the opposite issue when playing this mode. It was basically impossible for the uninflected to win in my lobbies.
I couldn't last one round since we couldn't find any Elfs to shoot, they were getting killed instantly by players.

The game mode can be a lot of fun, just not in battlefield. Ewok Hunt in battlefront was hilarious, Infection in Tower Unite is also fun. I'm sure there's many other games that have their own take on the mode too. But then here comes battlefield to screw things up again!

The first week was alright but this weeks game mode is absolutely terrible.
EA Dice made the worst game ever, and its getting even worse.
Reach never had cloaking for the infected, however they did have higher jumps and they had faster movements speeds, unless you played og infected on reach in which the infected would have evade which broken and hence why they made alpha infected and switched to sprint instead
Guess a lot of people don’t know about the grapple hook having the ability to kill people, I’ve literally killed 3 dudes in a row before on this mode, it at least gives you range over having to get right on them
It's a good game mode (although we've seen it before) but my only problem is how badly it was thrown together. For instance there isn't good places to defend and every match ends quickly and your thrown into another random match there's no sense of fight or build up
I'm 100% not playing that.

Fitting that the worst mode of all time is in the worst Battlefield of all time.
I think if they made it so Survivors could use different weapons and ADS, but increase the ticket count to 100 or maybe have a 5 minute time limit with no kill limit or something. Also remove the cooldown on the grapple so the infected can actually move around more consistently.

I recently tried the new gamemode without reading the description. I found myself on a 5000 tickets server with 4 other players and 120 bots, Hardcore HP but regular HUD. Safe to say I had the fun of my life and didn’t immediately quit the game.

OldManwoopedYa here and Yes this is the worst . I want the unlocks from it and not a single person ever joins Never ! Ive sat in this crap and nobody joins ... Nobody BF2042 has such few players its getting bad . Portal is the only way to play and theres only like 6 servers that are up

For well over a decade I was a huge BF fan and played thousands of hours total. No more, I've moved on to Hell Let Loose and probably may never play BF again unless they get back to the things that made it a great game like it was for BF1 and BF3/4. As far as console WW2 fps games go HLL is awesome
