If you are new to golf and just starting to introduce yourself to the instruction that is on youtube, STOP. This channel is really all you need. If you do not like his instruction that is fine, move on, but you wont find a better A to Z instruction that makes sense to the beginner all the way to the pro. This guy has a way of telling you what you need to hear and giving great visuals of what you are supposed to feel. So much of golf is feel, and he does a great job of explaining the why, and explaining what you should feel between good and bad. He is a great coach! Never met the guy, but he can coach his pants off online for sure.
Adam is such a great coach. His knowledge of the game is phenomenal! This aspiring collegiate golfers are fortunate to have access to Adam / Porzak Golf.
Love this drill. Most instructors are emphasizing hip separation from the upper body during transition, but if your range of motion is maxed out at the top of the backswing, trying to create separation is going to cause the upper body to come across and go over the top. This approach keeps my swing more balanced and consistent.
I made a short list of your best videos…. Almost including all your videos… so I have several list… fix my problems, to do next practice, refresher before a game, etc 😂😂😂😂… your approach is the best of the art!
Amazing video. A summary of what should be done in order to acquire an amazing golf technique. The technique he explains involve not only to sync hip and club, but hit the ball putting into the equation the abdominals, gluts and triceps. I think there is not better technique to balance compression and consistency.
Thanks for this, I've been helping a friend (and myself) who was a bit "armsy", and told him to feel more like he was hitting from his sternum. This is a better way to illustrate the feeling. Will definitely help me, and hopefully himbas well.
This came out at the right time for me- woop woop! Still got a long way to go but I'm starting to be able to keep my hands and arms in front, and it's making me realise how much speed/energy/efficiency I was losing fighting to get around myself. On the cusp of a total breakthrough regarding this aspect of the swing. Always knew this but other stuff had to change 1st, so I could achieve it. For me, it was my coach telling me to swing back with more chest turn, with what I perceive as super short with club more vertical (like your wall drill + big turn-short arm swing concept), now everything else is incrementally falling into place. These videos are coherent with my lessons, and are proving to be a great supporting resource. Thank you!
Love Ethan’s grip ,very Hogan like. 15 going on 35 for sure . When I was 15 I think a saw 4 knuckles fighting a closed floppy face that needed inhuman timing to hit it straight. Great video
Hi Adam, great lesson once again! Love your work. I was wondering if you could could do a lesson on the follow through (if you have any students that have a similar problem). When I attempt to cover the ball, I tend to move a lot forward through impact (head and upper body clearly in front of my lead leg in follow through) and I also struggle sometimes with my head getting in front of my body-hands through impact and hitting it behind. My coach is trying to get me feel like my hands-arms do all the work, but that makes me feel very disconnected and I don't like the thought of 'just let your body follow your hands'.
Can someone clarify the swing sequence for me on the downswing? Should I be dropping the hands into the position demonstrated in this video before rotating through??
You can preach connection to most players and they don't change a bit. Go watch them 10 minutes later and they are right back to that hacker's swing. But when I went to a connected swing (which was not easy) my whole game went back to when I was 25 to 30 years younger. And I was very straight again right off the first tee. The first 4 inches of take-away is very critical just as Nicklaus always insisted. That's because it is the only place in the swing that consistent connection can be initiated.
God I keep trying to do the pump drill, but my trail side isn't loading correctly so everything else is kind of getting screwed up. I keep flipping between thinking I need more hip bump, or my upper body is the one messing it up. When I have had it working, the pump drill is seamless, feel's like all you need is a 3/4 swing to hit full distance on everything. If you can load correctly, the pump drill is kind of the king of drills, hope I get to experience it again.
This may be due to the release of angles. When you do that feeling, make sure 1. Your hips stay closed and 2. You maintain the wrist angles. Once you get to that slot position, you are free to rotate through the ball!
Do you do a military discount with your online lessons? lol. I recently played the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island for $175 with a military discount... Couldn't believe it actually... I originally paid the $600 for it and I was walking down the 18th hole and my caddie looked at me and says... Did you ask for a military discount? I said, No! I went back into the pro shop and they refunded me $425 for the round... Pretty amazing day.

Wow! The little hip bump along with this pump drill has transformed my impact. Thank you.

Adam - would be great to hear an explanation of how or if this changes with a driver
Need a coach like this in Michigan

I would call that "elegant". Such a perfect solution to a difficult issue that many young players struggle with. Top class coaching.
I cannot tell you how incredibly helpful these videos are to me and understanding the nuances of what works and what doesn’t and why. THANK YOU
I’ve added the pump drill to my practice and warm up sessions and it’s great. I appreciate your ability to as a teacher to both tell and show.
I made a short list of your best videos…. Almost including all your videos… so I have several list… fix my problems, to do next practice, refresher before a game, etc 😂😂😂😂… your approach is the best of the art!
Simple drill and will probably solve quite a few swing flaws. Thanks!

Oh I really like the hands in water thought
Gold! Thanks!!
Another great lesson.
So helpful for me.
I played a whole month doing the pump drill during a real round . Did great . May use it in a tourney
Would love to see some tees, hoodies, etc in your store.

Would you do this with driver too?

Awesome Drill. I have been trying to work on keeping my arm in correct spot in my turn so this is Perfect timing. Thanks✌️

Absolutely gold dust what moves first…..BRILLIANT 💥🏌🏻
Another incredible session 🔥
superb drill. thanks Adam.
Very welcome
Would you make it with fairway woods too?
Tysm pro❤❤
I hope this is the missing piece for me. Going to try this pump drill next practice session!

Bit like the Justin Rose drill, and the drill Tiger did with Butch on the golf channel, Tiger hated it i remember him saying
How can one purchase those white headcovers?

Where is that hoodie from dude? Anyone know?
Johnnie-O! He is a good friend of ours!
The long drive champ does that pump, then hits it into outer space lol.

God I hate this drill, but it definitely produces results
That’s a huge 15 year old lol
Definitely got a mortgage😂
That’s what she said
Almost didn’t recognize you without a hat 😂
When I do the feeling of throwing a medicine ball straight down, I tend to chunk the ball.
This may be due to the release of angles.

Seeing Kaymer at -10 after Grants performance puts into perspective how out of his mind he played that week

Who is this guy without the hat and sunglasses?
