I already use the service.. highly recommend it. I have one number for my work and coworkers, another number for others (no family or close friend) and other number for advertisement/retail stores. Plus a couple spam emails. 💪🏼
Simple and easy to manage using the app either on my phone or PC. Only my family and close friends have my real number (that I replaced) before that, everybody’s had my old phone number… I received 5 - 10 scam/spam calls a day 🥲

What happens if Cloaked shuts down one day, unexpectedly, and you can't then log in to websites you need as the number and email addresses are now invalid? It appears that you're reliant on them staying around. I'd prefer this to be self-hosted.
Ive never seen a shut down happen instantly. I’ve always seen companies give you a few months to update your info or migrate your data.
The reply below is right. Our goal is to make sure we're here to stay. We already let you export all of your information on Cloaked so you can see what is used where.
In the very low chance something were to happen to us, we would absolutely provide a detailed transition and migration plan.

This looks like a great service but it would definitely lock you into their ecosystem. Imagine if they made a change to the service, such as increasing the cost, that you didn't agree with. It would not be a small task to migrate away. With other services such as Addy, which yes only supports email, at least you can bring your own domain and just update the MX records if or when you need to migrate to another service.

If you want to KEEP IT REAL, even this is NOT enough, b/c whenever you input any account info on any Website, your info is Compromised!
This seems extremely involved. I'm sure all use case scenarios vary, but for most people, a Google voice or carrier number on a cheap plan and an extra email address or 2 should suffice. All my 2fa go to a separate phone number. It's also the same number I use for "gym friends" and strangers. Eventually I give out the same number my family and coworkers have. My family have both numbers, so when I switch phones at the gym, they can contact me on that line. (I only bring my cheaper phone without any Gmail or personal info to the gym.) the only contacts are the 20 or so dudes in a basketball group.
I need this. I have an email server and dozens of emails to try to manage this problem and it's a giant pain
Two questions arise..The first is with the cloaked email adress, many sites might not accept this email for an accountname. I have had this in the past with hotmail, live and gmail account and certainly when I used the email adress provided by my internet provider. The second question is, you say email is directed to you desktop, but this must go through a server somewhere in (the US?)
and then gets to you, therefor it is the vpn service for emails am I correct? If so how long will they retain you email and will it go through a encrypted tunnel. Cheers ron
What is the site only accepts gmail and doesn't accept aliases.
That can certainly be tricky, although we don't love when sites do this!
Short term, most sites don't have Google SSO only
Short and medium term, our identities can often be used to create Google Accounts, and we are working on more tools to ensure that our credentials are accepted at Google
Long term, we hop for users to be able to SSO via Cloaked directly!

Hi Shannon. Not sure if it's just me or what. I had zero problems with sending text both ways no problem between Andriod to Iphone. So I can get text message from Iphone, but when I try texting IPHONEs back they don't get my text message. Not sure if it's when Iphones got its IOS update. I tried tweeting google but there net getting back to me. If you think it's good enough for you to do a Video on, and if there's a fix. Thanks love the show.

That is super interesting. The Alias creation for emails with the likes of Proton etc is one thing but this seems to take it to a whole other level in the auto generation side of things, plus the phone number obfuscation. It would be nice to see it with the ability to handle multiple core email addresses so you can maintain the email segmentation whilst simultaneously auto generating new emails. Definitely going on the keep an eye on list.
That's interesting feedback! Most of the functionality is currently contained in our category feature - you can make a couple of core Categories where you put your most important identities and then can make other, smaller-throwaway categories for your less important identities. Inbox can be filtered by message type (email, text, call) as well as by category or specific identity, so we find that this level of customization works pretty well!
You should try it out - and if it doesn't work for you, let us know! We always welcome user feedback.

I definitely will give it a go at some point though. Although I'm based in the UK, so not sure if it's even compatible.

OK, what's that thing on your chest? At first I thought it was a microphone ant that would work pretty good but then I though it might be some medical device like a glucose monitor or something like that. If it's something medical we all care about you, and if its a mic we also would like to know more.

@@ShannonMorse I'm always amazed to hear about seemingly healthy and beautiful actors and actresses (and TH-camrs) that have health issues or even psychological issues. It makes sense in some cases that some people just aren't suited to a regular job but do great in short spurts. I'm old and have cancer and survived another cancer as well as assorted other health issues. I love to say that my heart and lungs are the only thing that I don't have problems with for some reason. Covid did a number on my lungs though. I'm hoping diet and exercise can fix your problems but don't be too afraid of surgery. Just be careful to pick a good surgeon if that's the solution. I had a problem with my leg and two of them wanted to basically disable me but a third had a different solution and I'm still walking around.
