Something like this is gonna go aloooong way in helping new/mid hamish players who are struggling as much as I did. Great job mate, love your content
I really learn a great deal from listening to you process through setting teams and champs out loud. Much more so than simply hearing the "finished" version
The problem is, getting that level of gear and champions, getting fast enough to do that team needs pretty solid speed gear. The issue is how early the silver 1 mission is in the arbiter mission list more than anything (and then the rank4 one also). Arena stuff should be way later in the chain.
I’m stuck on the rank 4 great hall now for a month since I was stuck in silver 1 for most of it recently iv pushed into silver 2 and it’s speeding up double now since I get 2 medals but still it takes so dam long
Totally agree. This account had some pretty damn good speed gear. I started a second, FTP account and I don't have anywhere near that kind of gear yet. Lucky to have pulled an Apo though, so I managed to scrape my way into Silver I but having played for almost 2 years I have a significant advantage over a first time player. There's just no way to NOT see how Arena missions are clear choke points for newer players. Its really silly.

@@greythanaetherion5519 It's clear that the choke points exist but it's not clear why they should be fixed unless it's agreed that players are entitled to progression. People are clearly making it past this point so it's not like it's impossible just not free.
@@berekexer8158 Progression missions are made by game designers to mentally entice you to make progress and stick with a game. It is actually game design 101 in a game like this. You can certainly feel free to believe that game designers are all idiots but they all believe it (and all psychological studies on the subject back them up). If the progress missions no longer match how progress occurs in a game, it is time to either fix the game or alter the progress missions... assuming game designers actually have any control as opposed to some bad businessman who doesn't understand the product he's selling and is trying to make a quick profit to turnaround and sell a company as quick as he can (Bain Capital method of fraud).

I don’t think one should have to put that much thought into arena’s in the bronze and early silver stages. They should be able to take a mix of whatever they can muster, and have some success regardless of who they have and what gear they have. I’m not saying they should be able to slam everyone they meet, but you shouldn’t have to need speed tune calculators, epic or legendary gear, pushing 200+ speed and such. If that’s what they want, then why even have Bronze Silver Gold and Platinum?

Yeah but they aren't losing me only because my dedication carries me I will find a way to become powerful but first I need a rank 6 which is turning out to be my greatest trial yet before I can even begin to challenge the horror of horrors that I finally unlocked that is Doom Tower.

I’m in Silver ll and I reckon this sort of team comp hits it’s ceiling around here. I’m running at 80k team power with Elhain, Umbrel, Dhukk and High K. I can hold my own but so any teams have counters, insane stats etc it’s hard to advance against them. The hardest part is getting your great hall up to par in my opinion.

Yep. I just made Silver II and don't see getting out any time soon with my blender comp. Though I'm running a level 40 Fahrakin. Lol.
The player in the video has awful gear. Looks like he has spent zero energy farming dragon. How hard is it to use 1k or 2k energy every couple weeks to farm the highest level dragon or other dungeons with all your energy? Would seriously help in arena and dungeon content.

I've been stuck around bronze 2 and 3 for months, just barely reached 4, but went back down overnight. I'm completely f2p, so I can't go on a rampage spending money, plus I'm still a minor and my mom put a screen time on my phone. I only have 30 minutes for Raid on weekdays, 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours on weekends. on weekdays, i spend around 20 minutes doing daily quests, and spend the last 10 minutes doing whatever possibly helps
I plan on putting Khatun on my arena now, then Ursala, then Dracomorph, which I got a month ago, working on ascension to get the 60% decrease defense debuff, and then Kael last for the nuke
For the record, until I used the strategies in this video I was barely able to get to bronze 2 occasionally for a short time. Once I followed Hell Hades advice and started paying more attention to the specifics of the teams I was going against, I easily went from bronze 1 to 1/4 through silver 1 in just over 5 hours (I only took that long because I was short of gems and needed to sometimes wait for the free refresh). Now I am even clearing teams with higher power when I used to regularly loose to teams my power was well over before this. Thank you Hell Hades for giving me a fighting chance in an area that at best frustrated me to no end.

Thank you for this insight. I climbed to GIV with a now unuseable tank team when the game was new. Everywhere you go, you read about how bad arena is and while it clearly is way harder, you showed it is possible to adapt.
Even more interesting than the fact you have proven is reading the stream chat though: Even though you clearly showed and explained what to do, some people will still find excuses!
Wow this is insane. These accounts in bronze back when you filmed this are REALLY strong compared to the bronze bracket about 10 months later. These teams are the ones I see in silver or higher, which is where I'm currently at as a new 19 day F2P account.
I wish there would be a time when my champion had too much speed instead of too less speed😭😭

@@aryanjain9467 I was in the same spot about 2 months ago. The only way I found around it was through it. Kept grinding dragon, rolled up gear that looked like it might be good, reevaluated whether I had the right line-up. Now I'm in the same spot on Nightmare, just trying to find those improvements that will move me on to ultra. But I'm in no hurry, so it'll happen eventually.
@@Kurgosh1 in that matter I have the worst luck in the world, I have about 50 items in lifesteal with a speed substat of 5, but all of the rates got 2 rolls in the second substat, I have real bad luck
Awesome content - what really helped me was not focusing on lifesteal for example and gunning for stats. Amulets etc are tough to find for me ATM
I'm on day 58 and managed to get into silver 3 times but can't seem to stay long enough to get 50 medals, but seeing this video has helped a lot in how to build kael now, my team for it is high katun speed lead into zagala def drop into spirit host att increase into nuke kael, but a lot of the time my kael doesn't hit hard enough, so now seeing its fine to make him arena only masteries might help alot. Good job on the vids, keep them up always helpful and entertaining! Also didn't know what the costume button was for until this video, it's going to save me so much silver from replacing gear.
As a FTP, on my 8th day since I started I did my 1st 1 mil clan boss run! Bronze 2 @ 1150 in classic arena. Mostly due to the advice from videos like this one.

HH you are missing by far the worst aspect of arena at the moment.
Arena ranking effectively means nothing because it is a different scale for every player. My arena team would knock the crap out of the one you built in this video, but my arena ranking is worse - this is because of the player power matchmaking.
I've just reached 100 days so my account is even newer than this, but because I have done a way better job of farming my champions up to 5* and 6* my player power is almost double this guys. As a result I'm now stuck hovering in fucking bronze 3 and 4 because my opponents have between 100k - 180k team power with multiple legendaries. And what's worse? The more I progress through pve content the WORSE my arena prospects become.

Same, its fucking brutal. I'm finally approaching gold but I've spent ass loads of money because I'm lazy and impatient. I have 2 legendaries on my team and still struggle. I also have all crit rate and am speed tuned. Bleh.

I have 170~ days in with around 15 6 stars and I can easily and comfortably sit in gold 4, in fact I've been doing that since I hit 120 days. Most of the opponents I see even in gold 4 are less than 150k power and only maybe 1/3rd have arbiter teams with mostly gold

Same here! I am only 28 days in on my second account and I am already facing against teams with 80k-90k team power because I have made decent progress in PVE. Sucks big time.

I play Raid shadow legends only 2 weeks ago, my champions are weak, my gear is crap. Now I am at Silver I! I do everything what you advice, and I can not be happier with the results. My team has only 27k power when I break the Silver I brick wall. :) Soo if i van do it, Everyone can. Thank you so much! :)

power level start to matter from s1 above, in s1 and above you will have hard times to be able to beat even bad team which power level is 35k+ higher than yours
btw: The more players watch & follow your arena advices the harder the arena gets. Think about it. ;)
That's true. I've checked my defense log. The teams that are beating me are as insane as those I get matched against. It's an arms race in Bronze and Silver, new players are hopeless til they have leveled, geared up and speed tuned a team.

I do want to point out 2 things:
1) Arena is based on Player Power so if his rating were higher (i.e. more 6 star champs), would this account be facing tankier and/or faster teams?
2) Drop the speed to 230 and that apoth looks to lose the speed race in those bronze battles. That is a lot of speed for a starter account. What is the current minimum speed for a speed booster on a starter account?

I think the real problem is Arena Defense.
I used to be G4 and dropped to Bronze to farm medals. Biggest mistake ever. I can't get back up (with the same team as in G4).
I win most Offense fights, but lose Defense all day. That's the problem imo.
I am definitely no he'll Hades by any means and yes I know I am a horrible friend but I got a buddy of mine playing this game. And he's having the same problem so I jumped on to help him out and I ran into a team that consisted of duchess krisk warlord and candraphon. It is absolutely absurd for a team like that to be in bronze that needs to be fixed
I had to remove all my unsued champs to reduce my player power by 50k (from 420k to 275k) to start getting resonable opponents in s2- this is the bigger issue. When my player power was on 420k every time i rolled out get unbitable opponents.

I'd been considering quitting after the arena changed. Then I pulled 3 voids in 2 weeks I needed to make a Blender comp. I'm still not able to hold myself up in G4 but I'm not Stuck in G2. Speed is my issue now, eeking out 320+ is hard.

Word on team power, i'm currently at 76k climbing to gold2. Kael, psylar, uugo/deacon, battlesage. And believe you me, 50% of my points are from defence cause psylar is OP.
Honestly, a /very/ slight variation on this team is currently keeping me fairly comfortable in gold 3 (depending on the day, up to recently it was a mid gold 4 until it got "fixed")
Very good video. I enjoyed watching. Still pretty tough especially when you consider what early players got to face but well done.
I have some of the best arena champs in the game with Arbiter madam, Trunda, Rae, Astralon, Archmage Helmut works well with Arbiter also. Still gold 4 is now a sea of Arbiter heggies, torman; and the list goes on. If I go first I win if not I lose.

Pulling champs out of CB may be the most important thing to progress in arena. And i think it's the same time blocking starting players unreasonably.
Im sitting in gold 3-4 and i feel like i cant progress bcs my most important arena champ - valk can't be speed tuned for arena bcs she's already tuned for CB and same for my tayrel. They are overburdened sadly.
I just wish MY bronze IV looked like that. The comps in mine are insane.
Using arbiter, ninja, deacon and ma'shalled pushing to reach platinum once got within 20 a while ago, not even to finish in it, very low spender very exciting
Learned a lot. Definitely need to farm better gear first and save up silver. 80 days in today. And I'll have to see if I can miss the champs in the other parts of the game. I still have a very limited champ pool. But I'll definitely rewatch this vid and give it a go in a couple weeks or so.
Been playing for close to a year and lack proper resources. Than again I made lot's of noob mistakes early on.

I went from bronze 4 to gold 1 this week with some gem refreshes but mostly seen speed teams on my way up. My team is 75k power (287k Account power) and it can beat 150k non speed teams. Still struggle with speed teams and I avoid those fights. It is possible to reach the higher ranks with a bit of effort, I've been less than 1mill silver for the last few days since I've been focusing arena
I'm less than 40 days into the game and I'm in Gold2 right now. It's possible guys. I got some of my best gear from competitions. go hard on those! And build your masteries. Extremely helpful
On my alt I’m running a High Khatun, into Warmaiden, into Kael, into Sinesha. Don’t have a Gorgorab. So while my Kael my not be a total nuker like this one, he brings them all down a good ways and Sinesha finishes them off. Could use some better speed gear because I don’t have those kinds of speeds.

It's something people need to learn: as they gear and tune champs for the Clan Boss, they should do the same for arena, then they'll do well there too.

The best way to fix arena is to have matchmaking based on age of account then player power. Granted the more I play arena the more I run into players well over my player power.... I feel I shouldn't be going up against teams with Scyl and Arbiter while I'm 49 days in.
So, for accounts that haven't got Apothecary, High Khatun is a good choice? And when you get Apothecary and build him, he will take her role as speed booster?
Let's see you take that exact same team to Silver 2 and beat opponents who have two or more of the following champions in their defense: Sifi, Rotos, Krisk, Ma'Shalled, Duchess, Trunda, Tormine, Mountain King, Khoronar, Hakkorhn Smashlord, Valkerie, Altan, Lysandra, Arbiter, Astralon, Cardiel, Big 'Un, Prince Kymar or Sir Nick. Those are the defenses I face every day now. Good luck with that one buddy!
is it just getting good champs or gear ppl struggle with? Im f2p, day 87 and i have no trouble getting to silver 4 in the arena (1856) with not even a speed lead. Maybe ive been lucky with champs n fairly decent gear. None of my champs have banners on. Most have 5* okay gear max. I run........ Hotatsu (lead, lvl 60) Dark Elhain (lvl 60), Sepulcher Sentinel (lvl 50) and Underpriest Brogni (lvl 56 of 60) Only Dark Elhain is fully ascended and Brogni is 3* ascended. Granted i only go after easy teams to beat. Cant get into gold yet, but thats just down to gear. Great content as always HH.
I'm Ftp I comfortably sit in arena gold 4 on my main account but my alt account lvl 44 is stuck in silver 1, the teams are way overpowered for silver, something is seriously wrong with silver arena.
Did they recently change the battle arena? I only ask because I was FTP, left for about a month, came back and shot up from Bronze 2 to Silver 4 in a matter of 3 days.
Back then like one year ago i got into gold with just High Khatun, no Gorgo, and only the nuker at 60 with meh accessories. It clearly got waaaaay harder
You have any of these on more of a newer mid player. I'm around lvl 45 with about 8 lvl 50 and about to get my 1st 60 been about 3 weeks but The arena is killing me and I can't figure out who I can take away from my dungeon farming and still be able to do both arena and dungeon

i'm stuck in G3 after the junk teams left. i can't get back to G4, but i know why :( i don't have a good speed aura lead like arbiter, but i'll have yoshi soon enough and my team should be better after that
I'm struggling to get out of Silver 2/staying in Silver 3 it seems every time i get up to 3 I immediately get smacked right back down and it's preventing me from progressing...I also have low silver (this account had 22M) and decent but not amazing toons. It's so disheartening
Ironically I already like this account your on MORE than my current account team my current team is full of rotten luck even my starter champion was bad because I picked Elhain like an idiot.
I have a Galek but he's only a 4 star right now and not even fully maxed I have an Occult Brawler but I can't get his poison to land most of the time on Clanboss, I have a Frozen Banshee she's the pride of the clan boss team along with Outlaw "Punk" Monk (I have 3 monks now leveling them occasionally), I finally got a High Khatun unlocked Doom Tower can do NOTHING in there though but I still don't have a rank 6 yet which sucks still going ham trying to get one.
I do NOT have a Man Eater or a Doom Priest and a lot of exotic champions that everyone else on the planet seems to own.
I have Klodd beast Feeder and the Jizoh Lizard both lv 40 and maxed level but I don't have all of the rank 4 food to level them yet especially since I'm saving the food for Elhain so she can get to rank 6 and become a Vampire practically.
I do not have a single Legendary and my Shard pulls even on mystery shards lately have been very low rank food champions things like Sister Militants and Thralls.
Hi Hades, it seems wrong to me i don't see anything below 100k power in bronze 3-2, though i am playing 180+ days and have not build the arena team properly. Could it be that match making takes account power into the equation not the arena team power ? I have a bunch awesome legendries and pretty huge account power without arena team. Most opponents i am facing are having 250+ speed not 170
I have a ColdHeart at 6 stars, and on clan boss and dungeons, I can only get her to hit 100k-120k at most. What kind of gear and substats should I really be looking for?
I would like to know how you manage to have only such simple opponents because I am bronze III and I only have opponents between 130 / 150k which prevents me from progressing while I use exactly the same team as you and with pretty much the same stats.
The biggest problem with arena is not acknowledging the difference between FTP and new player. So many things can go wrong with this.
Knowledge is key and that's the difference in bronze arena. New players don't think to upgrade an Armiger. A player starting a second account does.
A new player doesn't know how to setup a team. A player just starting a 2nd account does. Plarium needs to take this into account and only then the whole arena mess will get better.
Brb gotta go farm 20m Silver and whatever gear I get with that so I can fix my Arena team as well! Been playing about 2 months and I'm struggling to stay in Silver. Losing 90% of my defense battles which just wrecks my score, but I've got a 70-75% win rate on Offense.
The thing is, i though, we were able to get into silver 1 in the first 1-2 months, not in 100+ days.
Team power means very little right now, I have more "power" than most and lose the foot race over 3/4 of the time, and avoiding good leggos is impossible right now in gold two.....its a total flood
Gold IV is the easiest. It's full of teams with single Arbiters. Unfortunately, I didn't play over Christmas and am now stuck in Gold III which is extremely difficult.

I just saw you seeing gear on other character when in the Equipment screen, I am 130days in to my account and I had no idea you could filter who has gear equip that you want and see the character picture in the bottom left. Ive been mind blown..... DOES EVERYONE know this>>>>??? I didn't... I feel Dumb.

Champions and gear are solid for 100 days on F2P, I'm around the same with nothing like the same gear or champions from the few shards you get as an F2P...
I wonder why he couldn't get to Silver I. I am only 2 months in and my Arena team is Mother Superior, War Maiden, Elhain and Ninja and I am Silver II. The first 3 champions I listed are only level 40 and Ninja is level 50. I only have one level 16 artifact. If you're persistent and pick your battles wisely you can go really far.

just got scyl of the drakes. so been playing for a while. im running 2 accounts. spent lots of money on this game. I canceled my raid card. when spending your shards work hard for, and get ones you get when farming, makes you feel great ...lol i was in silver at one time. but cant get past Bronze. so this is telling me time to go. I have 5 computers. 3 are gaming. lots of other games to spend my time with. Also. them pop ups are not what im going to see again.

all i do know or was doing is going to arena hit the top 5 hit all just to get for dailey quests. and done, dont even play it. so the whole game is around the great hall, how can you increase it when you lose all arena battles...lol. Im done have fun . and spend to win

I'm confused i got into this game like 2 months now, not knowing anything about it. Then got my kael to level 60 in about 20 days, then i am always in silver 1. I don't understand how to build, i just look up the sets they needed on TH-cam, didn't worry about stats very much until recently. Only got warmaiden, spirithost, athel and fahrakin on level 50. Is this because of different server region? Can somebody explain.
arena is brutal hard is pretty much the reason. Main factor is generally speed of course /farming dragon. Second is damage if your team isn't messed up in some other way.
Standard team is a speed lead with a turn meter booster on the team. Booster is the fastest of course. So perhaps booster is 250 speed (if you can achieve that).. then others should be about 170 to 200 speed around there. Booster then attak up or defense down.. followed by 1 or 2 hard aoe nukers.
Your debuffer (warmaiden) needs about 75 to 175 accuracy for silver players (it's a large range).
If you haven't built high-khatun as your turn meter booster you should, unless you got something that is better, but i doubt you do. High khat is useful in lots of places (like slowing spider).
So, i'd build this team... high-khat, apothecary, warmaiden, then kael. This is 2 boosters to make sure you get the speed lead.. then make a slow-super heavy damage kael. A strong kael for silver 2 would be about 2800-3800 attack, 170speed, 75% or more crit rate, 150 to 200 crit damage.
Why don't they do what summoners war did and put 2 separate arenas, one with bots that refreshs daily and normal arena
The problem I have with arena, is that even as a low-mid spender, I just have to avoid 30-50% of the arena teams cause they are afk vets, or whales. That just means I have to do twice as mean free refreshes and waste even more real time. Not to mention its gonna take me longer cause I have a lower win rate than the whales. And those are just some of arena's problems. The rich get richer, the poor realize its a scam and quit, the game dies cause 300 whales in plat cant support the entire game. I've seen it before and I give it till 2025-2026 before the game shuts down.

FTP at first i come in 1st to 4th all the time! soon as got 1 -6s kael.. all the whales took over and i come in like 50 ish.. take away 2 or 3 parts the game and poof.. i go look for new game !
Been in FTP 87 days. No legendaries. Been stuck in Bronze I forever. Having to match up with teams with power 2 to 3 times my best team's power. I'll never be out of Bronze I. Half my opponents have half their teams built with Legendaries ... in Bronze I. FUBAR.

@@JP-my7fu Give it another push, the matchmaker was just adjusted, and I went from having only two teams I couldn't beat a rotation to two teams I couldn't beat. I'mn Bronze II, ~45 days in.
@@JP-my7fu Given how few levels they have moving up one every 30 isn't bad. If you do that then in one year you would be an elite player in Gold 4.
This is where I see the problem, especially early on. New players want to make progress. If it was set up so that average player could get make it through Bronze in about 120 days there would be fewer complaints.
Would it be difficult to work time in game into the formula that determines how many players are in each tier. The problem is that there is a glut of long time players with teams that are too powerful for new players to compete against in the lowest levels.
I"m having the same problem as well. check your Player Power. I think the way it works. based on Palarim's response the HH's questions. They try to pair you with teams based on your player power. If you're building up a ton of food to level up champs or to get ready for these fusions, you're building up your "player power" without knowing it. Your Arena team than stay the same, but Plarium assumes that your arena's team's getting stronger just because you're focused on other aspects of the game.
I'm in Bronze I - II and I'm facing teams that others are seeing in Silver 2 or 3.
In Gold 2... Every team has Arbiter and most teams are 160-200 K teams.... This game is impossible
When bot teams disappeared 3 weeks or so ago I experienced the same. Strangely in the last week I faced many weaker teams again (100-130k) in low gold 4.

That’s an understatement
This was a very informative stream. One note not to be overlooked, it was very key that you were able to take Kael out of CB: granted in this case, there was also Soulbond as an option.
But the principal applies.
Kind of simplified to, rush to get your starter out of CB, then tune for Arena.
This was actually something I figured out when I did my f2p as well, as soon as I could get Kael out of lifesteal and clan boss and into actual good damage/arena gear it made such a massive difference in being able to win right off the bat with one shoting the other team with better crit rate/crit dmg and putting him in the few cruel pieces I had.
@@TeKnoVKNG23 definitely. It's almost a trap for new players, that the 2 best places to focus dedicated teams for have almost completely opposite requirements to specialize in.
@@thorstienn2317 Yeah it's tough, especially with Kael since he can be a big poison damage source in early clan boss for you so it's hard to take him out of that setting.

People need to start using their level 40 epics as food to drop the player power - otherwise you get a pp that is significantly higher than what it should be based on your pool of mid-end game viable champs. A smaller number of maxed champs will get more advantageous arena matchups than a full stable of lv40 and 50's.
Obviously check that you are not going to use the champs in late game content first though!!

Watched the stream replay yesterday, this was really an eye-opener for early game accounts like myself. Really a must see for players who struggle to advance their (arena) game and how optimize the champs and gear with the stuff that you already own.
Timing is everything if my seeker goes before my zarg i sit comfortably in silver 2 if zarg goes before seeker(used to be spirithost) id shoot down to bronze 4

This is how i got into silver I as f2p with a arena defense strategy: (only 20 days into the game)
Step 1 - got kael to lvl 60 + max him out (lifesteal gear on him + make sure he has max crit chance)
Step 2 - included 2 lvl 50 HP based champions. (any champ with high hp works)
Step 3 - did put shield gear on the two hp based champions
Step 4 - included one debuffer (warmaiden in my case)
You get into silver I thanks to setting this as your ARENA DEFENSE, because of all the people in bronze IV atacking you with "not maxed out" nuke teams
Your shield soaks up the first nuke wave and after that you often outsustain them and win.
I think it worked because most of the active players in bronze IV all run the same stuff - kael / elhain + champs like spirithost and warmaiden (and these are the players who try to get out of bronze IV and atack - that your power lvl appears low helps)
If this is not how it works, sry. (you can gain points from winning arena defense battles, right?)
I just woke up one morning logged in and was silver I after i did exactly this the day before that.
ps: non of the champs i used was legendary and only one of the 2 hp based champs (jareg) was epic
Dont need the shield set that also requires having to farm fk instead just run diabolist, spirithost, warmaiden, kael made it to silver one within my first month
@@ApexOdyssey I think you can get a shield set in campaign rewards or login rewards fairly early on, 4* epic set i think. I agree with your team being one way to win, however the point about having a defense team with good sustain to counter the speed nuke strat is very valid as well. a second warmaiden built as a nuker is a bit cheeky, but takes advantage of the affinity differences against the starter champs and many top tier nukers (foli trunda etc are often magic affinity)
Best way to get to gold 4 is to get a speed booster and a spead leader. And let that speed booster have around 185 speed and you will start 95% of the games.
