Hi Sandra, there is a 1/4" audio in jack on the back. So you'd just need to have a mic that's compatible with that type of connection, or use some kind of adapter if it isn't. Hope this helps.
DGX - 650 has touch sensitivity lv4 and DGX - 640 has lv0 touch sensitivity as i have compared them in a web site. Do you think that touch sensitivity really matters ? I am about to buy a new keyboard and the seller only has DGX 640, should i buy it or wait for DGX 650 to arrive ?
I think it matters as far as having it or not having it, but beyond that I'm really not sure how difference there is between those two versions. I got to play a 650 recently and it doesn't seem that much different expression wise (which is what touch sensitivity is for). when I press harder it got louder, when I pressed lighter it got softer. The real advantages to 128 notes of polyphony as opposed to the 640's 64. That being said, you really don't notice too much unless you're layering instruments. So in the end it really depends on how soon you need the instrument, what features you want or need in it, and if you're okay having a version that's not the latest. So it's really up to you.
If the price has dropped that's usually a pretty good indication that a new one is coming out. I got my 640 for $100 off and within 7 or 8 months, I think, they had the 650. It was definitely within a year.
Jaron Belboda It dropped considerably, I can find one for €699 so I might wait a bit more, it's sad though they don't give a hint :p (a part from the price drops)
+JustAName I know, right? A hint of new specs would be nice. Then you can decide if the new one had features you need, or if you're fine settling for the current generation. Thankfully they don't depreciate as fast as smartphones.
+Bot Aim That sounds like a pretty good deal. I guess it depends on if you need 128 note polyphony (DGX-650) or you're okay with having 64 notes (DGX-640).
Hi, does Yamaha DGX-640 have transpose (to raise or lower the value (tune) of any particular key? If so, how can I activate it please?

I got my 640 like 4 years ago but I rarely play it. I'm going to build a thin cabinet for it next month and really put it to use again.
Good for you!
Hi there, I have the yamaha dgx 650 and was wondering how do I get sound through the keyboard using a microphone. Which port can I use. Thanks

Jaron Belboda Thanks for your advice. Since the playing is not that different, I will go with the DGX 640 and subscribe to your channel.
+Sirijan Thakur No problem. Thanks for the sub =)
Do you think they will release a new version this year? They usually add a new model each 2 to 3 years... The prices dropped a lot on the 650.

Jaron Belboda true, hahaha I feel ya? 3 years ago I knew everything about new tech, nowadays I can't follow and keep up with the pace :p
Jaron Belboda Looks like the 660 is out!!! hahahaha, too bad they didn't improve the screen :p
Do you think i should buy the 650 or the 640? i have an offer 350€ for the 640 whit pedals
