My gaming experienced changed weeks ago when i changed out my Router, Modem, and added a 'pod' that sits essentially within 6 feet of my Playstation. Fewer laggy games, very few freezeoff's. I was the problem and its done now. Not a single dropped loss.

All you need to do is have a wired connection. That’s the best way to maximize your internet. But you still have to deal with other people “bad” internet unfortunately

Lower ping is actually better than higher ping. Think of it like input lag the lower to 0 the better

It’s crazy how much lag can affect the mlb the show experience. I played a game on legend against pete crow with great connection. I mercied the oppenent. Then my next game was on hof against mason wynn and the connection was terrible. I barely scored 3 runs to win.

Peer to peer in 2024 is ridiculous, especially when sports game players are known to be technically illiterate bozos who unironically play online games using wifi instead of wired connections. You simply cannot have ranked/competitive game modes on peer to peer servers. People that say they have "clean" online games in MLB are delusional, lying, or just have gotten so used to the inherent input lag that comes with p2p sports games. There is SUCH a marked difference playing offline, when everything is buttery smooth, and then going online, where things like 1 second freezes happen every time you make contact with the ball. Baserunning is probably the most clear example of the difference between offline and online, they have SUCH a delayed response on the basepaths which is unacceptable in a sport where milliseconds can make the difference. The amount of times my shortstop online has taken forever to throw the ball to first on a routine ground ball and a the batter reaches 1b is INSANE. That NEVER happens offline.

We need to start a movement Kenny for everybody to use wired connections!!! And not just the WiFi!!! It literally costs like 10 bucks on Amazon to get a Cat6 Ethernet cable!!!

The only way I have found to eliminate as much delay and lag was to have one modem in my house that I use to connect to all devices in my house, and I have fiber dedicated for gaming only. With that said having nothing running on the fiber a gaming monitor and disconnecting cross play, I generally have clean games.

That doesn't do anything. You're still at the behest of your opponent's connection. I play on wired internet and every game is a crapshoot. There is no such thing as a "clean" mlb game. Compare an online game of mlb to a game of counter strike. There is inherent input lag even with pristine internet speeds.

Can you also talk about disconnects in off line gaming modes like conquest, player vs cpu, mini season and Showdown where sometime you can't even finish games because loss of connect to SDS server and PSN and it counts as a loss.

It's crazy how we can tell the smallest fraction of lag. When it's smooth it's butter but man I swear if there is even like a few frames of lag u can tell.

It's very easy to tell. PLay an offline game, then go play online.

Internet speeds don’t actually matter, your upstream downstream and ping matter the most.

peer 2 peer is trash and unacceptable in 2024, end of story. i have excellent internet and im tired of being held at the behest of other people's mcdonald's wifi connection

This game is peer to peer connection so the better internet carries the majority of the responsibility to run game. Therefore the bad internet runs better and the good internet runs worse. This is backwards and creates a clear advantage for bad internet. That’s why guys who are dogshit like Victrx22 aka golfzilla even makes it past 500 rating.
