A true friend is such a precious gift in someone's life. David and Jonathan were such good and true friends (2 Samuel 9). When David ascends to the throne, long after Saul and Jonathan had died he feels he should show kindness to anyone from the lineage of King Saul for Jonathan's sake. Mephibosheth was the only remnant. He was crippled since childhood and the King made him come and dine with him. How well do we treat our enemies. We should love our neighbours as we love ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). In the end God Himself will gather us together at the feast of the Lamb (Revelation 19:9) and we shall reign with Him forever more (Revelation 3:21)
