To use your controller in your map menu to set an autopath, you will hover over the spot you want and hit X (Square on PS controller). Then, out of the map menu, and to autopath/run you just click in the Left Stick. You use the Left Stick to move around the map, and LT and the Right Stick to zoom in and out of the map. To Guild ping you hit the Left Stick in, and to Party Ping you will press in the Right Stick. Also, you can bookmark a spot by pressing and holding X (Square on PS) on your controller. Let me know if you have any issues.
Here is an advanced tip for the Ring Menu. If you have a controller that has extra buttons, like an Xbox Elite, or Astro C40 like Slushie said in the video, (i have a Razer Wolverine that has 6 additional buttons): You can map the extra paddles as DPad buttons (up, down, left, right)in your local controller software (this is either through the mapping system built into the controller itself, or the PC app specific for your controller). Then in the Ring Menu, assign 1 skill to each specific menu. This will bypass the need to open the menu and input a direction to use a skill. The skill will be used as soon as you press the button because it is the only skill assigned. You can effectively have 8 skills mapped this way Skill 1 - Up Skill 2 - LT+Up Skill 3 - Down Skill 4 - LT+Down etc etc for left and right. Does not have to be a skill thats mapped, you can map anything in this manner, like an HP Potion. Hope this helps. Great Video!
Thanks for the guide, I'm gonna give it a try, If I can do this with the controller I'll give this game a second chance. I hated combat with ms/kb, probably because I've been a console player all my life. Your video literally gave me a chance, before your video I tried, and since the game doesn't show you how to fight with the controller I was about to quit.
actually it is pretty straight forward for how to cast the skills once you enabled the Gamepad UI (otherwise it is different) - For DS4 controller Triangle - C Square - E X - Space O - F L1 - Q LT - SHIFT R1 - LMB RT - RMB Skills are pretty much the same on keyboard for the classes I tried with those buttons.
Hey I have a question, I see you using your skills on the ring menu without having to bring up the actual menu to select them. For example on your left dpad menu you have 4 skills and you were able to cycle through them without the ring menu pop up. How did you do it? Thanks and great video.
Thanks bro, I'm switching BDO and DotA to controller this week, because I find the seating position to be a bit too aggressive on my back, it will probably take a few weeks to become good again, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run
dota on roller? i tried that with LoL, how did u get it to work? or did u do as i did and just clicked around with a mouse pointer? i want it to work like in Diablo4 where u steere the character with 1 analog
This does me kno good. How do you even bring up the settings menu in game. I am in the tutorial and it wants me to use mouse and keyboard. I can't uses mouse and keyboard due to nerve damage Only controllers work. So how do you bring up the setting menu in the tutorial.
In the video when you go to the “ring menu”, you choose it from the “preciously used” options (or something like that), where is it found initially? Thanks
-PROBLEM SOLVED- Im a none steam user (i use bdo launcher) and i tried turning it on in the settings of the game as well as putting on the UI. It just doesnt work with 360 controller nor playstation 5 controller.
Bit late on the bandwagon, just got the Asus ROG Ally and am loving it so decided to give bdo a try on it. Seems I’m confusing myself with the setup and layout and also was hoping that skills on controller would be more so a combo of buttons such as A+RT something to that degree cuz if I recall correctly on PC you’d do for example s+f to do a certain skill and I thought that was dope and was hoping the same would be said for controller cuz I always felt fighting games were meant for controllers than just clicking your left mouse button to attack 😅 if I’m wrong and someone could help me figure this out and get a nice setup going I’d love ya to death
Dude you'r intro is awwwffullll. It's like look at the feedback on recording. U break that shit hard. Thumbs down and told TH-cam not to send me your shit

Is the Button display unchangeable from Xbox? I'd prefer to see the PS layout instead

You can change in from Steam controller settings.
actually it is pretty straight forward for how to cast the skills once you enabled the Gamepad UI (otherwise it is different) - For DS4 controller
Triangle - C
Square - E
X - Space
O - F
L1 - Q
LT - SHIFT
R1 - LMB
RT - RMB
