Sent Hubert Sumlin to conservatory to learn music from a guy who knew blues to opera. He was illiterate himself, til 40s. Managed his own finances and band. He was no body's fool. He lived well and frugally and died well off. His step daughters used his legacy to run several charities and scholarships for poor children. He was no dandy like his frenemy, Muddy.
Finally someone who finally reacts to The Blues!!! I've been waiting to see who would be the first. Thank you so much, I'd love to see you react to John Lee Hooker he's my all-time favorite!✌❤🎶
Howlin' Wolf was who got me into not only the blues but southern music in general. Without him I would have never understood Skynyrd or Stevie Ray. Thank you for the patronage!
Hubert Sumlin on guitar! The band lays down the perfect groove for this song. On harp, Wolf was not as technically proficient as other players, but he had a unique soulful style that fit his music.
That’s Willie Dixon on bass He wrote so many tunes that were covered by so many people. He also ran Chess Studios for Leonard and Phil cause at first they knew s-it about the blues.
@@Pogo-qo1ob I know I have a couple of their albums. Great stuff. Big Three Boogie. Juice Head Bartender Somebody Yell That Woman. Ain’t Gonna Be Yer Monkey Man no More. All amazing tunes.

YES! SIR! Please check out B.B. King "greatest performance" live from Sing Sing prison.... WAIT!!! Also B.B. King "Humming Bird" (if you have a daughter, you'll cry a little) album version, THEN the same song featuring Deion Warwick!!!. OR anything by (the OG of blues) B.B. King!!! Sides... Albert King/Stevie Ray Vaughn! I'm on the record for saying these are top 10... best that ever did IT (PEROID)...
Smiley Lewis - "one night of sin" (original classic doo-wop version of Elvis's song) The Drifters - "under the boardwalk" (just a classic doo wop song that doesn't seem to get as much love in terms of covers, samples and shoutouts) Vera Hall - trouble so hard (beautiful acapella front porch blues song that Moby actually made a good house/trance version of it called "Natural blues") Gordon Jenkins - "Crescent City Blues" (original 1940's-antique-radio-type-music version of Folsom Prison Blues that Johnny Cash paid homage to) Kingfish - "Before I'm Old" (recent blues music that has the old feel of BB King, Albert King, T-Bone, etc. mixed with modern technology/sound). I can go forever recommending songs for you in every genre lol
little side note: the bass player in Kingfish's band almost always seems like he's on point. If you want a different classic bass player (not the one for Kingfish) who was ALWAYS in the pocket, look up James Jamerson. Such a talented player who ONLY used one finger. He helped shape the Motown sound with his bass
If you really want your mind blown, check out Lalah Hathaway with Snarky Puppy singing "Something" ... she does some things that shocks the band!! She uses vocal multiphonics!! Even if you do not do a video, watch it just to see this.
Check out a great album The London Howlin Wolf sessions w Clapton Winwood Wyman and Watts. Great outtake of HW trying to teach Clapton how to handle a bar hes having trouble with!
Nice reaction but Im always worried when I see someone watching this and not moving. Im watching a reaction video and my knees and head are bobbing all over the place. Not on purpose. You not feeling it?
Try Ryan Upchuch, brother. He has been on the Billboard charts 59 different times for Rap, Rock, and Country. His current album, Creek 2 (a Rock album) is hit number 10 on the Rock charts. For Rap, try his "Beef" remix. For Country, try "Rollin' Stoned"; for Rock, try "Dirty South". Trust me, don't sleep on this dude.

This is beyond solid. Howlin Wolf is one of a kind. When I listen to him I feel every single thing he lays down.
I love the blues! Great genre of music. Watching from Australia 🇦🇺

The movie : cadillac records is a great movie where his character apears in it too.
Really solid????? Howlin Wolf is what every blues singer WISHES they could be! MORE LIKE REAL BLUES! Ain’t none of you ready.
The wolf ! Wow...my favorite..
That’s Willie Dixon on bass He wrote so many tunes that were covered by so many people. He also ran Chess Studios for Leonard and Phil cause at first they knew s-it about the blues.
He also sued & won a lawsuit vs Led Zeppelin.
His band Big Three Trio had some gnarly proto rock songs back in the late 40s

Wolf is a great blues singer and is very underrated
Trivia: Wolf (Chester Burnett) was in the 9th Cavalry...The Buffalo Soldiers.
He was at Ft. Lewis WA. and was never deployed overseas.
Willy Dixon the guy on the bass wrote most of the blues song you ever heard.and nobody every sounded like the Wolf.
