What I did was I measured the length I wanted the necklace to hang at for the first two strings and then doubled it for the weaving string. Worked just fine for me.
How gorgeous and easy! I've been a fan of jewelery making and macrame for a wail now and would love to do this technic. Thank you so much for showing this easy wrap video. Love it!❤
Ah ha! So it's lark's head knots all along the length and then square knots to bring the circle closed around the stone. Then a 3-strand spiral knot (aka Granny's knot) for the necklace length. So simple. Cool! On the 2nd project, it looks like you put the silver beads onto the base cord between the lark's head knots. Right? Thanks for a great tutorial!
How much material do you need to start this and make it? I need to cut some lengths because I have one large ball of hemp that I'm using. I'd like to try this project as soon as I can. Thanks
Hola me encanto tu tutorial muy sencillo y didáctico, he visto varios en la web pero siempre me parecieron muy complicados y difíciles de entender, el tuyo impecable, gracias por compartirlo, saludos y un fuerte abrazo
It's possible to do this with crochet also:All you have to do is crochet a strip ,then wrap this strip around the edges of the stone and secure the ends of the crocheted strip together.
You're so talented and what a gift you have and shared it with everyone. Thank you so so much. The thin cord you used for the beautiful blue stone, was that 1mm or less. Again thank you. 😀
I wish there would have been some explaining of what you are doing while doing it and also some slow motion when you do your first knots so we clearly see which string goes above and under, etc. But still, very useful video. Thanks!
Hola me encantaron tus vídeos son geniales solo que me gustaría si puedes hacer un vídeo donde empieces desde el principio es que no se como pones los hilos al principio del vídeos espero que me puedas responder a mi petición gracias y saludos desde México
Jessica Mayer You can buy them on Etsy from various sellers, amazon, & eBay online if you don't have a local crystal shop or alternative book store, home goods, or even thrift shop in your area.
Wow :D this is perfect fpr stones with regular forms... but I have a question D: I particularly work with quite irregular stones, and it would be complicated to work with Cabochon. Is there any other technique?
You're welcome Joshua Marchantier I have only this videos for other variations: DIY / crossed sennit, chainlet - SIX strands DIY / crossed sennit, chain - FOUR strands I Hope in the future I will show more videos for stone wrapping
elluc1510 wrap a piece of cord around your stone to get the circumference. use that as you're guide. however long it will be is how long the measuring cord was. let me get you another vid of a good channel
brilliant visual using bigger thread and diffrent colours. Thankyou. just what i needed.
I'm glad you found this useful :) Thank you!
Great tutorial, although I would appreciate it if you could tell us how to calculate the necessary length of the cord to be used. Thanks
It depends on the stone used for the necklace making :3
I think five metres. No joke. 5 feet? I buy 16 metres and am told can make 3 necklaces.
I have some cheap cord that won't melt.. Like real cheap. It will be useful for mock macrame for my necklaces.
What I did was I measured the length I wanted the necklace to hang at for the first two strings and then doubled it for the weaving string. Worked just fine for me.
No more than you can handle! 😘

Hola, cuál hilo usas para los trabajos de Bijou?
sehr schön
visual is good but you did not give details on length or type of codes for projects
I agree ..hope she add them on the description
elluc1510 wrap a piece of cord around your stone to get the circumference. use that as you're guide. however long it will be is how long the measuring cord was. let me get you another vid of a good channel
G Lia called parachord
G Lia- I agree. There was no measurements or what thickness is best or even if this only works for non-oddly shaped Crystals.
how long do u cut your strings in prep for this?
TV b
Thanks for using a larger string to show what you are doing.
