30lbs braid is for football tuna and 40 50 lbs tarpon . Horsing fish in on that braid , no wonder all public bass have holes in their face are beat to shit !
Braid floats and has no memory (unlike mono) so it doesn’t tangle in the front hooks as bad. Soft rod and loose drag is the offset. The hooks on most bass topwaters don’t rip a hole in the fish because they would bend out.
