    Friend of mine is a Chinook Pilot, and I thought Cool, it's a cargo/transport copter, but the more I learned about it, the more I realized it is a BadAss copter to say the least. Amazing what can be done with it, and Fast too. Thank you so much for the lesson! My buddy is overseas right now in Iraq, but when he gets back we gonna try some missions with it. Hopefully multi-crew by then!

    Great content, thank you!
    I wish we got all of the stability systems and trim systems working, not just some of it, unless I did something wrong, it was not all that nice to fly, alot of chasing the cyclic or rather its positioning but other than that, I love the responsiveness of it and I know ED will knock it out of the park, we'll just have to stay cool, have a few pallets of drinks and wait a bit!
    The Apache was unflyable for 6 - 8 months, it was just disgusting but once they sorted it, it was like a all new helicopter, I could tell when that moment changed instantly from a streamer without him telling me and I instantly bought it. No regrets since. My favorite helicopter is still the Mi8 and Hind, not because of them being old soviet birds so much, as people think, but becaus they simply fly the best in DCS imo. Anyway, awesome content! Love hearing from people with real world experience!

    She seems to be fairly easy to handle, which I like. I don’t know if it is me, but can’t seem to get to hands off flying. She wants to climb or dive if not managed. Might just be the fact that I haven’t added any curves. I’m very interested in the FMC system and hope they model that out more. That is one of the attractions to MSFS, is managing the airliner’s computer for the flight plan, so that is exciting. Great video, I’m thinking about a larger monitor myself. Right now I’m at 34 inches and I’m thinking 45 or 50. I do VR as well, but when learning, nothing beats being able read documentation and have the aircraft up as well.

    I usually fly DCS helicopters with the spring removed from my pedals. I have a dampner too. Is this realistic for the Chinook? I noticed the special options don't have the normal options to ignore pedals while trimming so this doesn't work right after the moment anyway. Not sure what is better though. Thanks for the videos, I expect these will be popular! New format is perfect.

    • @Deezle_Gaming

    Thanks for the great videos! Question for you as a real CH-47 pilot. Some user reviews are saying the module has some wonky physics, spaceship/ufo like with weird handling. But they also are not real pilots. How do you think the flight model holds up in its current EA launch? Are there UFO like tendencies when pushing the envelope? Or is the accuracy and realism pretty good, save for the missing stabilization features coming later? I imagine a dual rotor helicopter will feel and handle different than a single rotor, so I am not sure what to make of some of the early user reports.
    Cheers!

    • @47Driver
      @47Driver  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Flight model definitely needs some work, but this will be fixed later with the full implementation of AFCS and LCTs. I talk about this a bit in my previous video. Still a very fun module so far.

    • @DS52116
      @DS52116 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@47Driver Thanks for the reply! So it is not so much an unrealistic physics issue like some say? In this case, it would simply be a matter of not having the full flight systems implemented? Or is it a both/and?

    • @47Driver
      @47Driver  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DS52116 wouldn't call it unrealistic. The aircraft does things that a tandem rotor would do if not for all the fancy stability systems we have to have on board to safely fly these things. I think they're pretty accurately modeling tandem rotor physics which is a feat on its own. Tandem rotor aerodynamics are by far the most complex thing ED has attempted to model so far.

  • @mweitzel2005
    @mweitzel2005 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think the new aspect ratio cut off the control indicator. Also if you get the chance try using a VR headset, I'd be interested how it compares. What controller are you using for the collective? Inverse Warthog throttle is the thing I've been using but maybe not enough feel on it. Maybe a curve would help.

    • @47Driver
      @47Driver  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure what control indicator you're referencing. The little red square that shows the position of all the flight controls? If so, I don't fly with that enabled so that's why you didn't see it. I use a nice Arduino based collective controller I bought on Etsy for around $160. Works very well.
