Honestly, the multi-layered plotting/storytelling, along with the well-drawn characters, is what makes this the best Marvel television series, in my opinion. The writing is believable, because each of the characters--both heroes and villains--have various motivations, flaws, etc. that the average viewer can relate to, and they are expertly characterized; that is, the writers don't break the character's development unnecessarily, allowing instead for each character to develop naturally, over time and as a consequence of their actions. The "slow burn" of season one inevitably leads to the action-packed, full-on Daredevil of season 2, followed by the shattering in season 3. Many of the other shows lose their "character authenticity" very quickly, and typically veer off into some other "take" on the Marvel universe ... whereas this show is firmly rooted in the here and now, the "human" nature of crime and how it changes a city and its people. Daredevil "feels" more authentic because the city itself is a character in the show.
an interesting bit of dialogue, which you cut out here (and I get it), is in the beginning of the episode. When Karen tries to figure out how the fax machine works, Foggy told her to be nice to the machine, for when the robots take over... followed by a comment about clicking noise when dialing phones and it possibly being machines plotting but that he doesn't speak computer overlords... The season 1 released exactly 3 weeks before the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron...

It always throws me for a loop when people don’t like Foggy. He’s literally one of the best characters in the not/MCU. Daredevil would be only a half decent show without him.
To be fair in Season 1 Foggy's a bit of an ass with his "Matt you shouldn't be Daredevil" lectures and sometimes being greedy and wanting to defend people he knows are guilty for a few extra bucks.

Matt went from his wholeheartedly honest and law abiding and vulnerable best friend, to being a dishonest, law breaking, and battle hardened vigilante. And Foggy already had preconceived ideas about who the Black masked vigilante was, based on false news media coverage. So it was an even more stark contrast to his idea of who Matt was. In his mind, who Matt really is a complete betrayal of who Matt had portrayed himself to be, and their dynamic has never been as he’s seen it. And he jokes about defending criminals, but in every instance, when the opportunities truly presented themselves, he didn’t have it in him to defend anybody he thought to be dishonest or guilty. Foggy is a good person, mostly because of the hypocritical guidance of Matt.
I don't mind Foggy as a whole, but there are scenes of his I skip because of the cringe of the scenes (2nd season where he talks down the "gangbangers" in the hospital).

Madame Goa is so expertly portrayed by Wai Ching Ho. Literal master class. To play what feels like a cute grandma that is so innocent and her be so ruthless... but also care... just wow. Wow wow wow.
The "touch my face" part made me choke, again. Thats three times now Ive almost choked to death while watching these, I think from now on I will stop pulling these up to watch at lunchtime....

Vanessa is the canonic partner to Fisk, remember, in "Into the Spider-verse", it was Vanessa [and their son] that Fisk was ripping open time and space to recover.
I atleast want to see their reaction to David Tennant as Kilgrave. One of those rare villains that's not a physical threat bit certainly a deadly threat that even if you live after encountering him you are destroyed in every other way. I really respect that the Jessica Jones series went to that level.

I absolutely LOVE KAREN (aka Deborah Ann Woll) !!! Her dialogue and delivery is top notch!! Matt (aka Charlie Cox) is more of a physical with how he sells the character. And Foggy brings the comedy but also can deliver a line or so that really punch up the emotions and add weight and drama. But overall my favorite character acting wise is definitely Karen because she just really grounds things and plays the part of the audience in a way. BUT OF COURSE CHARLIE COX AS MATT MURDOCK TRULY MAKING US ALL BELIEVE HE IS BLIND IS INCREDIBLE TO WATCH AS WELL. Edit: How did I almost forget Fisk….He sells that character. He is like an attack dog or a shark….one moment they are captivating and the next they are terrifying in a matter of seconds
I think you would really like Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. It ran 2 seasons. You will be extremely confused for a couple episodes, but it will all make sense. "Everything is connected."
