    Thank you Elliott, this was more useful and to the point than 99% of the rest of the material I've found applying for an MFA

    Thank you for your perspective from the other side! As a soon to be graduate I look forward to applying to MFA but am equally nervous. This was very informative.

    Just found this. Planning on applying to MSU in Lansing. Can’t wait to also finally make a visit to Cranbrook. Thanks for the perspective!

    could you explain number #4 "structure your essay for scanning - evaluate your essay for polysyllabic relevance". What do you mean with scanning? or what is polysyllabic relevance? maybe its because these concepts are so alien to me , but i did not completely understand. But I did grasp that first concentrate in creative writing , then tune the essay for a more technical and sophisticated writing?

    Head's up: I haven't gotten a single notification on your channel for two years, now, despite being subscribed and having the "bell" set to "all".

      Da FUQ!!!! Somethings fucked with my channel I literally get like 4 views. Maybe that ]s something

      @@StudioPractice1 oh, look at that! I didn't get a notification that you responded to my comment, either. I only found this response now, because I accidentally clicked on my own icon in a comment I had just left on your latest video (which I had to go looking for, receiving no notifications) and then a "recent comments on this channel" link popped up, which I followed, here.

    I once had a conversation with the head of an MFA program at an art school who told me the story of how he rejected an applicant on friday and she hid in the closet in his office until monday and then he accepted her to the program

    Is it required to have a BFA in art to get in to a MFA usually? I have a bachelor's in liberal arts and am interested in applying to MFA programs as I am also an artist. Thanks!

      Hey. You don’t need to have a BFA in art. But you do need to have a bachelors degree. Could be maths or English or whatever.

    It was pure genius aligning your content on this channel to the relatively recent rise in Samuel Whitcomb Hyde's popularity on this channel (which I personally believe is the result of another Faustian bargain)... But I enjoy decoding your content's numerical significance with Gematria.

    hey, I am a current undergrad marketing student who plans on applying for a master's in fashion marketing/related courses and is unsure of the MA vs the MFA. My dream career is to work in a high marketing position for a luxury brand and unsure whether the MA or MFA would be the best choice for me. Any advice is appreciated!

    • @StudioPractice1
      @StudioPractice1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. If you want to work in marketing the MA is probably best. If you want to do the design or art making the MFA is probably best

    What are they going to offer to compensate for all this effort and money new students bring. Students, you are the customers. This video makes me uneasy.

    Not helpful much for applicant who is foreigner, non native, has degree in other field in time of Covid 19 when you can't attend workshops.
