I think out of all the soap couples apart from Kat and Alfie, these two Max and Tanya are on the same level as them! I think the casting people and producers got it spot on with the four actors and actresses that play them, they bounce off and even each other out perfectly! I don't think any of the other soaps apart from Ken and Deirdre from Coronation Street have any soap couples that can match them. Most of them you watch and think "what was they thinking of putting them two together? They don't work as a couple, as a family unit!" But these six, the four from Eastenders and two from Coronation Street are spot on.
The reason Tanya didn't want the baby was Max kept cheating and she couldn't take anymore. He never seemed satisfied. No doubt he had a good life with Tanya but he kept betraying her. Maybe because of how Jim treated him as a child and he didn't apologise. Tanya had the baby but left Max because he still kept cheating. Is there a woman he won't cheat on?
CHANELL BARBIIE Jim Branning is Max’s farther when max was 16 he was locked in a coffin he was so scared that’s why max hated his dad watch the clips when max first comes to the square watch the clip were him and Jim speak to each other for the first time in 20 years any way it was revealed in 2012 by Max’s older brother Derek that it was him who locked him in the coffin not his dad
When I heard this story from Max, I ended up not liking Jim after this as that is one thing that would really traumatise someone especially at such a young age. Jo Joyner and Jake Wood really were great together. Jo’s best performance was the Xmas day episode when the affair got revealed. Truly heartbreaking.
No he mentioned a coffin when he met Jim again for the first time on Eastenders. Also Jim has always been a bit racist but I can't understand his friendship with Patrick.
This is the episode where I cannot stand Tanya and find her the most exasperating.. because it is here where Tanya is talking to Max as if Max should be more like a woman than a man. He’s not a woman Tanya!!. He’s a bloke! So stop assuming that he should act like a woman… because he can’t be what he’s not.. Tanya expects too much of Max. I don’t understand why
Jim came in the show in 96 as a racist to his daughter Carol's husband. It wasn't in the 2000s he first came in all nice and best friends with Patrick so them saying he was a racist and bad dad wasn't a retcon. It was in keeping with his character from the earlier episodes. Maybe he did change but never apologised to Max for mistreating him
