Crazy fights!! Legendary fighters ... I remember at the time being too disappointed hearing Andy Hug had lost the final against Matsui. He was such a big hero.

In the last fight Andy Hug wins. It was pulled for the Japanese because this tournament was held in Japan. politics

+Angelo Peter I'm hardly a Matsui fan, but they did have him fight all the ext. rounds against Thompson and Hug. This tournament wasn't too bad, a lot cleaner than the 5th at least.

    yeah this was pretty good.
Had a few legit knockouts to the head, and several devastating body blows in these highlights, as well as a couple good, legit leg sweeps.
Couple of these guys need to work on their guard, no damn sense being hit in the head by a full spin kick when it's probably the easiest attack to block or dodge.

    I swear.
This clip just shows something is WRONG with the UFC fighters.
You hit somebody 100% with a real roundhouse kick to the ribs, or a front heel thrust kick to the lower abdomen, and they don't usually continue fighting. Even when they did, you see they are in almost "standing fetal" position with dropping their guard to the ribs and abdomen, and almost helpless afterwards.
Something really wrong in UFC. It's like those guys don't "really" know how to throw karate strike with torque.

Don't forget the steroids, pain killers and other drugs most of them use. I mean, it's not only the one delivering the hit but also the one receiving it. In these matches, the one who receives the hit is not on drugs, that is why they feel the pain instantly, they don't lie to the body (more clever and healthier because if something hurts is because your body is telling you to stop; silencing that only leads to more severe injuries). Professional MMA is scientism/transhumanism in the field of sport combats.
On the other hand, these were normal guys, just human beings, not people destroying their bodies in the long run to fight like machines a few matches.
It makes me sad that most of the people nowadays think about MMA, specially the UFC, as the apex of some Darwinian evolution of martial arts. They don't realize all the dirty stuff which goes underground.
I'm not saying this because I'm a fanboy of Kyokushin, in fact I'm not, but I miss the times when martial arts competitions were fair. No drugs, no steroids, no brutal weight cuts... Just human beings testing the result of their training.
Also, the ethics, principles, respect aesthetics and all the non-materialistic values usually are missing in top MMA competitions. Most of the people are blind to that in these times of "winning is all that matters". They only see force. They don't care about anything else. It's the result of the scientism era in which we live. Pretty sad.
I think it's more accurate to call competitions like UFC MCS, mixed combat sports. If something is ugly, disrespectful and coarse then it's not an art, no matter what the fanboys say. No beauty, no art.
I'm not myself a Kyokushin practicioner. I was practicing for several years semi-contact traditional Japanese kumite and a bit of Kyokushin type of sparring. I can see the beauty and the art here. Specially the kicks are beautiful. I see the traditional martial arts spirit here. In UFC and the like... Not so much.

Have you ever fought MMA in your life? It's a total different thing, you have to know how to wrestle, grapple and avoid both of them, don't think that's easy. About kicks in the head, the distance and the guard in MMA bouts are totally different from Kyokushin, even in nowdays Kyokushin it's harder to see KO's by kicks in the head.
And, man, MMA is open for all, if any of these karateka wants to fight there, all he needs to do is do it.

have you tried fighting during your teenage days. That is MMA arts especially those who have no technical training on karate , grappling or boxing. When teenage fight they swing their punches, then suddenly they were already grappling on the ground but not the way they do in UFC. the one not on his back is swinging his punches then suddenly the other smash a small rock on the face of the other or scratches the other on the face.

  • @diosdadoapias

they punch but not the way real karate do. Like TKD they developed more on their kicks. The difference is kyukushin use punches while TKD do not punch on their tournament.

all the moves they do,how they look is exactly the same as some random guys fighting in the street with no martial arts experiences at all,is this what you get after years of training?Disappointing!.

    • @asamiyashin444
      @asamiyashin444 3 ปีที่แล้ว

If you see a guy in the streets use any of those kicks I doubt that he doesn't have martial arts experience. No way you can perform those without hard training in martial arts.
