Bud, love your coverage of 3rd Reality products & installation help! Love to see how you included the Echo audio alert along with the virtual switch addition. Thanks, as always for your continued efforts in keeping SmartThings a viable Home Automation hub.
Been looking for something like this with ST for a while, based on recent reviews, it's plug and play for ST hub v3. Just ordered one, if it works I'm looking at ordering 4 or 5 more. I don't know how THIRDREALITY flew under my radar. Cool tech! Thanks for the video!
This Zigbee version does require an Edge Driver. It’s easy to install. There are instructions and links on my website. If you have the SmartThings v3 or Aeotec hub there is a Matter version of this multifunction nightlight that I will feature in my next video. It works with out-of-the-box with the “Matter Switch” driver, which is a standard SmartThings driver. If you have the ST v2 hub, it works only as a Matter controller, so you’ll need a third party hub with a Thread Border Router to establish a thread network in order to pair the Matter Night Light💡
@@BudsSmartHome I have the ST v3 hub, would you recommend the zigbee or the matter over wifi version? which works faster, or are they both about the same? Edit: I got the zigbee version today. I've been wanting something like this for a while, and the fact that it's so cheap compared to other solutions.. I needed something for the bathroom for motion to turn on lights at day and night in different settings. I ended up subscribing and liked the video to show my support. I appreciate this video! Thank you sir.
@@krzybynature - Both protocols work well with the v3 hub. The Matter version appears to be a little more responsive in testing. I had a slight motion detection delay with my ZigBee version. Your results may differ. I am releasing a video on the Matter version on Saturday, Dec 30th. Thanks for the Sub and the Like! 😀
Yes, I’m very pleased with this nightlight. The matter version is nice as well. I did a video on it here: Third Reality MATTER Night Light ( Works with Matter Capable Hubs! ) th-cam.com/video/IOI_3sa8RpI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the informative video. I purchased the zigbee version and intalled it and the driver in Smartthings. When I create a routine in Alexa to turn the light on. It turns on and then turns back off. Is there a way to make it stay on.
@@BudsSmartHome I will send the screen shot tonight. Futher testing shows that the smartthing routines work, but the Alexa rotines do not. I have tried several different routines, one a simple as asking it to turn on the light. Thanks for the help.
I purchased the device from your link and went through all the trouble of signing up through your website to get the Edge driver only to learn that the Edge driver channel will not enroll to either of my hubs. I enrolled a couple of other channels to see if it was my hubs. Both channels I tried installed with no problem. There's something wrong with this Edge driver Channel as it will not enroll.
@@donnycasey6613 - I experienced this issue as well subsequent to the first time that I installed the night light driver. I did contact Third Reality (TR) on September 23rd about this issue. A TR representative stated "product managers are working with SmartThings on the WWST (Works With SmartThings) program...There were some driver transmissions issues recently regarding the WWST program. I have followed-up on this matter via email today and hope to get additional clarity about the timeframe for resolution.
I made and account and tried that. The link to the drivers, after I accepted it, I tried to reg hub and it just spins for 1 min then goes back to reg hubs again... @@BudsSmartHome
Also, just one think I wanted to make sure of... These will work with ST as a motion sensor? I mostly want them for the security motion sensors that DON'T use batteries... The design is freaking awesome! @@BudsSmartHome
Sir, is there any way to make this device read a state after period of time. I have problems because sometimes the lights sensor stuck so it feels as high light while it isn't
Ok, I am trying to turn on the light when the motion sensor is detected, and turn off the light if the motion clear for 3 minutes or if the regular light on ( that by alluminance higher than 10. The problem when the device motion is detected while the light is on the alluminance measurement will be high and it is stuck with this number until the motion detected again, but in this case the light doesn't turn of because my condition still false ( the device feels the regular light is on )
I would not introduce illuminance into the routine. The way I would write this routine is I would say if the nightlight is off as a precondition, and motion is detected. Then turn the nightlight on. And then auto turn off after three minutes.

Good to hear from you Dan. I have a Matter version of this night light that I will be reviewing in a future video.

Once again a great job 👏🏽
Thanks Eddie! 😀
Bud, are you still happy with the nightlight after a few months? I see it's now out of stock on Amazon (just the Matter version is available).

Pretty nice light for that price Bud, considering it's a motion sensor too. Great review ! Thank you.
Agreed. It is als an illuminance sensor as well!
Can you have the light be triggered in home assistant?
I can’t say for sure. I do not have HA.
How the matter version of the device
I hope to have video published sometime in December on the matter version of the Third Reality nightlight.
Is there drivers for third reality? My light doesn't have but on and off...?

I’m not sure. I understand what you are trying to accomplish. Could you explain exactly what you want the routine to do?
Ok, I am trying to turn on the light when the motion sensor is detected, and turn off the light if the motion clear for 3 minutes or if the regular light on ( that by alluminance higher than 10. So, that means it is an unusable feature
