@@John-uo1qf Yes exactly this! For anyone that doesn't know it's basically the tree catches the snow in its canopy, so if you get too close to the trunk of the tree where less snow has been able to gather, the tree will just dump feet of snow on you. Super dangerous and something that you have to absolutely be aware of if you're skiing/snowboarding off trail and want to stay alive.
I can't imagine the relief for both of them, for one to feel someone is there to help him and stay alive, and for the other to get him on time and not to get there and hearing no response at all... Yes, you can call it according to your beliefs but we are a part of something greater than us.

I live in Salida Colorado, near monarch mountain, when you are skiing or boarding always watch for poles skis or boards that might be sticking out of the snow, you could save a life. Thanks to the brother who helped this young man out! Snow brothers for life baby! Stay safe out there on the slopes people.
Fantastic story with a happy ending… heroes do come in different ways.. but there’s no such thing as what if! It just was for one to save the other and gave the other a new friend!😊
I was thinking karmic connection the entire time and then when he joked and said something like "you know that person that saves your life in battle and you follow them around for the rest of your life?" I thought there it is and "rest of your life" is probably plural - lives! I loved watching their interaction when he was able dig far enough to where the other could breathe. Such a tender moment. No panic, just acceptance of death on one side and focus to save another from death on the other.
It always sketchy when you stop to wait for your friend to catch up to you and it takes a little while. You really start wondering if they are good or if they crashed or just took a wrong turn.
What a beautiful piece. So happy to finally hear the full story from the both of them. I still think about the original video a lot, at somewhat random points in my day, and watching this brought tears to my eyes again. Just an amazing story all around 🙏
As an ALMOST life long skier ☺️falling into a tree well as he did, was always my greatest fear! ⛷😱So happy he had his Guardian Angel 👼 that day!🙏🏻👍 BFFs for Life. 👌👍😁
God had plans in place from the time they both were born that they would each be in that place at that time to be a part of each other’s life story. We all have a plan for our life. Did anyone else feel like they were gasping for breath as he was digging him out?
Never been in snow higher than my ankles and only ever been up mountains in the UK. Never been on a snowboard or skis, only on a skateboard and surfboard. This looks extremely dangerous
As a lifelong skier, this was my favorite video on youtube ever.
There are no coincidences.
Yes there are... basically everything is a coincidence!

Anyone that saw the original video that went viral will never forget it. It's great to get the backstory and the update. Thank you!
Thank goodness his board was bright red too
And the board was moving at the moment when Francis saw it. Or, instead of digging, he might just report a victim found in snow and left. God bless!
Francis deserves a lifetime pass to Mt Baker. This guy literally saved a life.

The rescuer was so professional
Most people who end up in tree wells like this die, cold, alone, and not ready to die, and afraid.
Your statements are trite.
as far as friendship is concerned, there is a forever between these two gentlemen
Still incredibly emotional watching this 2 years later. Stay blessed.

I remember this video. It was amazing. He wasnt meant to die that day.
Been wanting to know how that happened. Beautiful.
Nice journalism, too.
That’s why u should treat everyone u come across with respect u never know if that person will be the one to save ur life
Saw this originally a year ago or so, still one of the craziest videos i've seen. I can't imagine being in either one of their positions
My heart would've been pounding out of my chest. I'm so glad they kept in touch.
They got the chance to be buddies for life 🙏
Absolutely amazing story. So glad these two buds found each other, for life.
Beautiful story. God bless and protect them both.
Good advice to have bright color snow boards on both sides!
Followed a link from Reddit, my soul is happy to see the closure.
I remember watching this just after it happened and this follow up story is still charged with emotion. So grateful it was a happy ending.
A story that is most welcomed and appreciated during these crazy times. ❤😊❤😊
Thank the Lord for guiding the skier to rescue the skateboarder. What a Savior, wow! ❤
Your "Lord" kills most people who end up upside down in a tree well.
What a demonic cult you belong to.
what a crazy origin story for a friendship
Amazing gift from God.❤

Truly Gods work
When God lets some people die on ski slopes, he can't be given credit when he saves them......... or maybe God has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Fantastic delivery of this story! ❤🎉
Thanks to God who put that person to take you out. God was who really saved you.
So many think that we live aimlessly. This was meant yo happen. 🙏
Wow! Beautiful story… and beautifully put together interview and story… glad
We’re each a spiritual tool 🙏😇✨
such a great ending ❤
soooooo rad to see an update on this incredible story! Ian had soemone watch over him and Francis was at the right place at the right time!
Honey that was no act of the universe. That was God and angels and some prayer from someone to save that man! Happy he’s alive to tell it❤

I saw the first part of the video. Glad for the follow up.
Very touching
perfect place at perfect timing.. outbound riding through cluttered trees and paying attention saved that man...
Great piece KOMO News. I don't give props too often but this was great.

Was this a local news production? Well done. Not only is a great story, it’s also a great presentation.

This looks extremely dangerous
Now this is excellent reporting and presentation. But the reality of what happened, the glory belongs solely and utterly only to King Jesus.
All glory to god right there
