To pat myself on the back, I didn't grab a bunch of acid mushrooms when I played the first time, but that's due to playing far too many "I have a limited inventory so I need to plan out what I actually pick up" games in my life before Subnautica.
I think everybody does it just to pick them up
This is easily the longest I've seen anyone play SubNautica without even considering the possibility of crafting an air tank or a repair tool even after they've found all the resources they need.

@Robert Lost overwatch definitely requires you to think. This is follows the same survival horror game formula, no different from stranded, the forest, astroneer and raft. Increasing any type of IQ is crazy 😂

@@daKwolf As a Trekkie I waited ages to craft a knife too. I felt I was intruding on someone else's world, and wanted not to kill anything if I could unless absolutely necessary. First thing I made was the scanner to scan stuff and fishes, and make sure they weren't poisonous before I ate them...
I crafted the knife only out of necessity when I figured out you might need it to cut the vines, table coral and coral tubes to get those resources...
Sees episode one: “oh epic, a 30 minute subnautica video”
Double checks time: *has heart attack*
More of a star wars episode vibe then a tv episode

Same honestly I can’t go more than to my knees in the ocean without having a panic attack
I was very assured I didn’t have a fear of the deep ocean before I played this game, but now I understand the fear better than ever before.

Fun fact, there is no rescue coming. Not in 11 years, not ever. The message that says "rescue will be dispatched in 99999 hours is from the AURORA. The ship that crashed. It's an automated message and since everyone on the Aurora is dead it's sending the maximum time it's programmed for.
This is one of the best games I ever played. It’s pretty long and pretty scary but lots of cool changes of pace. Glad you put it on TH-cam.

I usually dont scream at new players trying this game, but man but the 20min mark im just screaming at flats to make the O2 tank, you even hover over it, with materials in your inventory XD

1:27:28 i wonder if he knows that, that stalker with the floaters on him is the one that hatched from the egg he chucked over the side of the escape pod lol. cuz they don't spawn that close to the pod naturally, they can follow you near to but not end up basically underneath your pod.
also flats isn't that good at subnautica lol, but im sure he'll learn fast. survival games don't seem to be his main thing which is good we get to laugh at him do really dumb stuff lololol. can't wait till he finds the bloodkelp biome especially if he ends up finding the blood kelp trench

I have played through this game many times, and this is my favorite game of all time, my jaw literally dropped when I saw the video title and I can not wait to watch!
Once you get the laser cutter make sure to revisit all the big wreckage pieces, they tend to have doors on them which you can laser cut through.
So happy to watch this playthrough, look forward to seeing more~

Ah yes picking up ALL THE SHROOMS, typical first time player 😅. Dont worry almost every playthrough I've watched (its a lot of them they make nice background noise) starts with picking up all the shrooms
So i made the "beep beep, oxygen" sound effect my notification sound for my phone about 2 years ago and now i cant tell if im getting a text or if flats is about to die 😅
Fun reaper leviathan fact: they use sound to see. If you can hear them, they can see you.

Honestly, waiting for you to try using your knife on things other than peaceful wildlife and stalkers, was mildly excruciating. 🙂 Please open your PDA and read about the stuff you scan. PLEASE! 😆Salt + coral tube sample is a game changer!
Also, I love the emergent gaming of floaters attaching to a stalker. That thing was swimming around your base like that, because it couldn't swim down. The floaters were forcing it towards the surface.
Oh, and people in chat not telling Flats that there is no need for an air pump in the base, are just evil. 😈

The diamonds are mined from a dark grey stone typically on the side of very steep under water mountains, there are other places you can find them, but they are more abundant at mountains and in caves

Finally oh Finally after 1:30:33 flats Finally makes a repair tool even though the repair tool is the VERY FIRST tool you're supposed to make so you can repair your lifepod! But noooo flats makes it and hour and 30 minutes into the game!
