I am fat, and you encourage me to eat healthy. I just ate a boiled egg with milk as a midnight snack as soon as I see you cook the egg with cheese and seaweed. I hope I can be healthier and healthier.

I heard you so clearly when you talk about kids not needing cuddles anymore. We hear all the time about a child’s first steps, first words. However, a child’s last “anything “ is bittersweet. My daughter is 29 now! She has her masters graduate degree and is accomplished. I feel proud of her but also proud of myself. Her childhood firsts and lasts are still clear and bright in my mind. I think you have the secret of handling our kids coming up which is something as moms that we search for. The best way, I can say, is to relish in their growth. It’s so beautiful. I love your channel, Miwa. I look forward to every video. Much love to you in Tokyo from Fl. USA and from one mom to another.

Congratulations on your girl's accomplishment! What a milestone. I even cried when my older one graduated just from kindergarten, so I can't imagine how emotional you might be with that! I love the way you enjoy your daughter's growth as you also grow, not like sticking in one place and not letting her go. It is Bittersweet!! Thank you for sharing Eileenie!

My children are all grown up and on their own except for one that still lives at home. I have two dogs that are my second generation of kids and when one doesn’t want to eat his meal I always say, “it’s okay but you won’t get to eat till the morning “ and he will turn around and come to eat 😂. You’re very patient and I hope your boys appreciate you! With my human children I never encountered someone putting off their meal because their sister or brother would probably eat their food 🤣 I love how your serve the meals-in my home it was family style where you served yourself once you were able to.

Hello Miwa! I love your channel and have tried so many of your recipes with great success. My kitchen has so many Japanese staples now and I even bought a bottle of Sake and I love it. My tummy feels so much better these days. I am coming out of an eating disorder and am slowly regaining the required weight. I have found this channel and it is a great benefit as I want to regain my health in a healthy way. I am predominantly vegan too and relish your plant based recipes. I have three adult children that are still my best friends and talk or see each other on a daily basis. They all went crazy in their teenage years challenging me and being grumpy at around the age of 12 - 14. But once they got over this phase they started to "grow up". The milestones never end. Their achievements never end. There is no end just exciting new accomplishments! But they will still always be my babies hahaha.

I usually get up between 5 and 6 am. Fist thing I have to do is feed the cats. I have 3 and they don't let me do anything else first. After that I get a coffee to wake up before Saya gets up around 7 am. I check mail, make bento if I didnt do that the evening before and prepare breakfast. I tried to have a pretty regular chores routine throughout the week so I know when I need to wash, go for groceries etc. ANd in weekend I make my weak meal plan so I know what I need to do for that.
Here it depends to the situation around teh school and distance from your house. My daughter is 8 now but with 2 km through the busy center and lots of home developments/construcion works around her school it is not possible for her to go alone. I was about 7 I think I went by myself.
I know the quarrels. I had 4 already with my daughter and it's only afternoon here now... がんばってね

Hi Miwa-San….thank you for sharing your day with us. Your boys are growing so fast! I remember those busy and tiring days lol. I have 3 kids but they’re all adults now. I used to run around dropping off and picking up from pre-school and elementary school and at one point my kids were in 3 different schools. But those days passed so quickly and now I’m an empty nester. I’m very pleased to see that you take some time daily, when you can fit it in, to take care of yourself. I was guilty of not taking time for myself during those busy years. You are a wonderful role model for us to remember to eat healthy as best we can and to exercise our body and mind. Enjoy this time with your sons. I vividly remember walking hand in hand with my son to kindergarten and thinking to myself the day will come when he won’t want to hold hands. And that day eventually did come and I had mixed feelings of sadness but at the same time realizing he’s growing up. So yes, these times are precious. Kio tsukete 😊🇨🇦

You advice means so much. It makes me think about what I should value the most at this stage of my life. Like this week, my kids will be staying at home because school is closed for a week, but I still have a lot of work to do. In that situation, I tend to be stressed out, but I can be more relaxed and enjoy the time with them since I can work anytime in the future, but this time with kids will never come back. you remind me that way. Arigato!!

It was very nice seeing your family interactions. And keeping a list of to do That’s a recipe for success also. My daughter is 53 my son is 28 there is never an end to parenting. There is no bitter sweet last time it’s just the framework changes They are still the same people. My son crashed his bike the same way and he got some bloody places by skidding on gravel. He’s mentioned that a few times over the years. So likewise for the children there in a bitter sweet ends just moving into a different framework. :-). I Used that kind of bicycle also but his legs are too long!

Your course sounds very practical. When my Summer holidays start I will look into it. Imho, Nutrition and Meal Prep seem the most practical components (well along with budget) to go alongside taste and enjoyment!
You make such good efforts in the meal presentation with the beautiful bowls that the children can enjoy eating from as well as sitting down together and socializing while eating. I think that habit/routine is so important also for families and to maintain those good standards of eating from a set table: I just love the way the food is presented, it makes such a big enhancement to every meal.
In my culture the saying is "the family that prays together stays together": It could be true of eating together helps everyone bond positively too. Sadly both setting a table and saying a small phrase of gratitude, are underestimated today in my nation with respect to the beneficial effects for families they deliver. You say “Itadakimasu” in Japanese? It is a really good concept.

    • @MiwasJapaneseCooking
      @MiwasJapaneseCooking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I totally agree with what you just told me... Saying Itadakimasu together is nothing special to me since I've grown up with it until people in other cultures told me it's a very unique Japanese culture. I've started to value it even more!!
Thank you very much for your kind words and interest in my course!!
I'm looking forward to talking to you more^^

Good Morning Trying to get ready to host a small gathering for my birthday, as to stay safe with the virus and avoid contact. May you have a wonderful summer and enjoy your lovely family. My daughter is 20 and in college; I am disabled, so she helps me with the things I struggle with. I do the shopping, cooking, cleaning that I can and other household things. Teamwork makes the dream work! I am a proud mom and You have taught me so much about food and health and general contentment. I thank you and love my friend in Japan. Here in Canada, I did not let my son walk to school on his own until he turned 9 last year. It's a bit scary for me; there was a young girl who was kidnapped on her way to school recently and they found her in the USA with a 40 year old man in a hotel. This is why... I don't want them to walk alone. :( it must be much safer in Japan.

Lovely meals and you try so hard. Perhaps American mothers differ in their approach, but if my child was acting like that, I'd say, "No problem, go ahead and not eat the dinner I've prepared for you. Let's have a bath, get you into bed and we will start fresh in the morning."

Can I keep the weight private?? 😁 I can't advise anything about weight loss since I'm not professional, but when I put on my weight 15kg after the pregnancy of two boys, It took me 2 years to get back to where I was. Only thing I cared about was eating a well balanced variety of ingredients and chewing well and not being too stressed out if possible. Good luck!

children under 10 have tunnel vision, and can be snatched by adults easily as they're tiny and dont know all the tricks. it's something you should do to have them catch a bus or you walk and pick them up with your dog.
