The potential for the character roster is so exciting. Warner Brothers owns so many properties which has me so pumped. Harry Potter, Johnny Bravo and Legolas are all on my wish list.

Been playing the beta for the week. It’s awesome and sets it’s self apart from SSB in many ways. I’m surprised he didn’t mention the different status effects certain moves give you or characters passive abilities. Also no block button, or grabs, and cool down timers on moves and dodges to keep it balanced. The game is definitely worth playing. 🔥
The stages are supposed to be competitive-friendly, which is why they're mostly just different arrangements of platforms. Keeps the chaos between characters, and not the hazards
That's fair, but it'd be nice if there were some more chaotic stages under another game mode or something. They could still have a standard mode with just the basic competitive stages.

Im loving this game so far, latency is near zero online. They take a lot of properties from Injustice with progression and customization. Really like the focus on dodging and aerial and the removal of the blocking/grapple dynamic.
@@praisethesun6078 there's no ledge, it's both faster and movement is much stronger. Compared to smash ultimate, In ultimate you feel like you're pulling your character, in multiversus you feel like you're pushing your character.

More characters have micro mechanics. Superman has a grapple fly thing that you can aim, Harley quinn had a batman teddy bomb that attaches to enemies and you can detonate. Characters feel a little more different from the next. A lot less anxiety on the edges and spiking opponents.
@@praisethesun6078 there are air dodges but no blocks. You slide down the edge but can jump back up. You can fight on the ledges while jumping. The pace is a little more free due to the edge not being a death sentance even if you make a mistake on the offensive end.

This is exciting stuff. Music and voice lines are a HUGE part of a fighting game, after the mechanics of course. So many moving parts and they have done so much correctly.
It seems like the stages are always symmetrical which might be what makes them not seem as interesting. They likely did this for the sake of balance, but maybe the more balanced maps are better kept as map pools for competitive? They need a dynamic stage like a Tasmania stage with no pitfalls but random monsoons that come and go mid-match where the wind can blow all the players one way or another, making smashes in that direction stronger and the opposite way weaker. Or a Wicked Witch's tower stage where it constantly scrolls upwards and flying monkeys can swoop about here and there on occasion?
Honestly as a big time smash fan this game is really soothing for the soul kinda wish there was a block and a grab but over all it’s a great game I’m having lots of fun
I've been having fun with the game, my only complaint is that sometimes the characters feel more on the floaty and slippery side. It's probably just me since I´m too used to Smash lol

7:31 - actually it's up to 5 characters atleast for the next 2 weeks. 4 per rotation (not sure if it stays at 4, changes every 2weeks, so even casual players can test every char out sooner or later without having to use the lab) +everyone gets Wonder Women for finishing the tutorial
Animations and presentation still seem a bit janky. It’s kind of hard to follow along with the action or respond to your opponent’s moves. Readability of attacks is really important in fighting games, and it’s something that Smash does a great job with.
Hopefully that will get added as other then 1v1, Free-for-All against 3 AI controlled opponents and 2v2 with an AI teammate there is hardly any offline single-player content.

It will be like For Honor. Small dedicated playerbase. Let's be honest here, the button mashing kiddies will get bored with this relatively quickly and the only people playing will be middle aged, basement dwelling no lifers who take this kind of stuff 100% serious. Never understood why you'd make a a cartoon styled game that's supposed to bring in the "kiddies" but at the same time tailor to adult people who never leave their houses. No way a kid will test out every single character extensively and spend hours upon hours in the training lab figuring out which characters attack/combos counters who's characters attacks/combos etc, etc. They just wanna pick Taz or Shaggy and throw people off the map. There's a reason why stuff like For Honor dies down so quickly. Nobody except a small group of people want to put in the work. The majority simply wants to play a game and not have it be like a job.
2:40 yeah, the stage could use more Ooo, including background characters, but anyone who likes the show can tell apart Finn and Jake's treehouse; definitely not as bland as the others.

The crossovers in Brawlhalla are just skins you have to buy for already existing legends, and Brawlhalla has been out for around 7 years, which gave them time to have those crossovers. Later in Multiversus’ life span it will have much more characters.

This game is definitely fun if you're playing online competitively, but if you're just a casual like myself who doesn't really care about playing online, there's not a lot the game offers to you. No single player content, no stock battles, no fun items. I'm hoping these are things that Player First Games are working on currently, because, right now, in my opinion, the game is pretty bare bones.
The game is great and fun However, the hit box area needs work. Unlike Super Smash Bro when you hit someone it's accurate vs with this it feels like Brawlhalla where tou can just hit through them and not on them

Can you use the right stick in midair to attack like you can in smash?

Multiverse sounds better than Brawlhalla but except there's alot of crossovers in that like WWE, Street fighter Adventure time Ninja Turtles & others.
The crossovers in Brawlhalla are just skins you have to buy for already existing legends, and Brawlhalla has been out for around 7 years, which gave them time to have those crossovers. Later in Multiversus’ life span it will have much more characters.
