You know I still like that despite having to follow conduct guidelines the commentators still have a scent of casual familiarity, still chill and not hardlined into super professional espn kind of commentating. It's a detail we should appreciate more these days with the smash commentators. We love you boys
For those who don't know: #1 St. Jude sponsored the event so my extra strictness was due to that. #2 I was trolling Hugo a tiny little bit I'm not as strict as people think when it comes to cursing on the mic.
5:15 I've seen b-air planes, n-air planes, and f-air planes. Never seen an up-tilt plane. That's why I love Smash. No matter how much you play, there's always something new to do or see
True but not true. Same way Athletes don’t freely cuss on the LIVE interviews players (I guess) shouldn’t either. The most important part is the intended audience. Can’t act like players don’t know the difference from talking personally or to a crowd. They not little children lmao
regardless of swearing, I prefer the casual, conversational tone of melee casters. I prefer it to the overly-scripted LoL casts, for example. Melee doesn't NEED to be a highly PG, marketable esport.
Of course I completely understand that smash tournaments need the support of some e-sports organizations but I feel cursing is part of the game man, You take cursing away and you also take like 30% of the fun out
Can someone explain why mango lost 3 stocks in the beginning? I’ve seen other players do that at the start of a match but never understood why they do that?
I really don´t get the general concept of us-american media being so damn sensitive about curse words. But in todays world of overwhelmingly political correctness it is far too late to argue about that I think..
Melee rose to the top without the help of any sponsors or the help of esports. We are not an esports organization. Save it for Sm4sh, piggybacking off of Melee's success
Nick T let's look at the facts here, amongst all popular fighting games, Melee and Smash 4 are the worst when it comes to being spectator-friendly. Why is that, you would ask? Quite simple, these games lack clarity for viewers who lack any knowledge or experience about the game. Lack of clarity when it comes to movement for casuals to follow, having too many things going on in the screen, unclear gameplay goals on a quick glance, those are just some problems with the viewability I can mention off the top of my head. Let's compare it to SF V. Clarity of movement, check. Not too many things going on the screen, check (could use less particles on some characters like Ken, but it's not too bad) . Clear gameplay goals, check *coughpercentagesystemisntintuitivesakuraicough*. What about Tekken? The clarity of movement is slightly less than SF V due to having an extra axis' worth, but it's tons better than Melee and Smash 4 and is just as intuitive. Tekken has even less going on the screen than SF V, and the camera shifts during trades/counter hits help casual viewers understand the gravity of what just happened. Not to mention the slower game pace, which helps the audience process what is actually going on. Well, this is just my opinion as a frequent spectator of all the aforementioned games.
I get that GiMr is trying to tell Hugs that he shouldn't say the F-word. But there is a more mature way to tell someone than screaming "PG-13" at him. Had he said "Hey man I understand you were quoting someone, but we gotta be carefull with the language" it would've been different, but this approach is just comes of as patronizing. Daddy Hugs is a very understanding man.
"armada bleeds!"
*pulls off the nastiest shit ever two seconds later*

The Moon begging to keep his mic after he cussed was the highlight of the video
Left out the part where they thank Fendy for being the one white person holding down the fort, though.
The argument with Moon and Phil kills me every time
Tafo screaming "OH SHIT" always cracks me up
I also like M2K's shrug.

Berlinwood27 it's not an interview, they're playing. Sports players cuss all up and down the court, field, ect

Crew battle/ iron man matches.
Starting a match, winning with two stocks, those two stocks carry over, to the second match.
Sounds like you gotta watch some legendary crew battles.

C-Funk both Melee and Smash 4 will never be truly mainstream like SF or Tekken, even with sponsors
Adiel Pratapa Handoko yeah no

Adiel Pratapa Handoko Hell esports is not gonna be mainstream if the american government dont decide to look past its stigma of gaming.
Nick T well they already give out athlete visas for esports tournaments, so that's something.
What the *FUCK*
5:10
