It stands perfectly on its own and is very enjoyable without the listener knowing anything about undertale - but also pays some very nice homages to the game and character. the synth/pop hybrid is perfect, catchy and fits mettaton to a T and the vocals are perfect too.

Well, the thing about Mettaton is from anime, that is actually part true. Alphys showed him (or her) when he was a ghost anime. And he (or she) liked one of the characters really much, and Alphys probably said that she is going to be a royal scientist and she can make him a new body that looks like him. She made him a rectangle body first, and then named him Mettaton (because he was from metal). Then she showed him to Asgore and he thought that Alphys made a robot with soul. Asgore made her a royal scientist and then, she started to do Mettaton's body "from anime". But hey that's just a theory. P.S. Mettaton is my favourite characer frrom Undertale.
This is honestly one of my all time favorite songs. I discovered it from some short on Instagram and it works so well whether one is a familiar with Undertale or not. It's got synth, pop, goth, techno, and house vibes. It truly is a knock out piece of work.

the character here is a robot entertainmer created by the royal sienticts, alphys, in the song it’s made as like something he’d be singing a s he try’s to fight and kill the human (character you play as) but PLAY THE GAME ITS GRRAT
