This is my nostalgia song, it was literally my childhood. My dad would play this all the time along with foo fighters and the living end, but this is the one I specifically remember just stopping and listening to when it came on. Tbh it makes me kinda sad to think about because it reminds me of the house I grew up in before my parents divorced. Now I’m somewhere that doesn’t feel like it’s really my home and the only things I have to remind me of it are these songs.

Comment edit: Thank you all for the love!! He passed 14 years ago, but his death still hurts even as I have come into adulthood. Grief doesn't go away overnight and the mourning process varies from person to person. It's a good thing for songs like this to exist since they bring back memories.

my memory of this song:
I was driving across south carolina to apply for a job in another town. I invited my long time friend to ride with me. He was a childhood friend and he was the type that no matter how much time had passed, we always clicked right back. it had been around 5 or 6 years since he moved and we went to different schools. He put this song on during the drive. it was nearing sunset and it was so good because we were the best of friends as kids and now we have grown up a bit and are enjoying our friendship again. Reminded me of simpler times. love this song.
We grew apart and certain people wound up driving a wedge between us and we havent talked for about two years now. We both share blame and I regret it and we both are too stubborn to reconnect but nothing lasts forever and sometimes you lose friends. its a part of life but with a song like this, you can remember the good times.

@@Kazwire Hi! I don’t know where you are at right now, but here are a couple of things I would tell my younger self and I hope they help a bit:
-so many things you thought were the end of the world didn’t matter much in the end (school, grades, crushes)
-so many things you thought wouldn’t matter that much mattered in unexpected ways (that friend you made that’s still in your life, those books you read/songs you found)
-you have the time to make mistakes, you have so so much time
-it flies fast too, especially when you get out of high school, so cherish the good and the bad
-i think everyone feels like they’re missing out on something but it’s more important to find what you value and like and go from there
Being a teenager is so lonely at times, we love to romanticize those years but man they were rough for me. Still I have nothing but love for my younger self even if I didn’t feel that way at the time. It’ll be okay. I wish you the very best!

This video returns me back to my childhood. 2008/09 times, I’m studying at school, waiting school day is over and after that I’m in a hurry to come home. While my parents are not still at home, I’m turning on ancient TV, turning on my ancient PlayStation 2 and starting to enjoy my lovest FIFA 09. Lovely moments, thanks MGMT for these flashbacks. 🙏

When you are a teen, you want to be an adult, and so forth. Every stage of life has it's perks and drawbacks, I guess. You don't know what you're going to do in two weeks, let alone in two years.

At this time in my life when this came out I was living in an apartment in San Antonio…my neighbor downstairs was a pretty girl named nicki. She was a heroin addict. But she was really chill down to earth ppl. We had some of the most interesting convos I ever had in my life. This was 2009-2010….it is now 2022. I always wondered how she is doing or if she is even still alive. It sucks. Some ppl come into your life and u don’t even know that they are a blessing. She was a good girl. A philosopher. A good mind. A good spirit. I miss her energy.

Got to see these guys open up for Of Montreal at Oberlin college back in October 2007. Never would’ve guessed out of the 4 bands playing these guys would take off like they did. Kids and Time to pretend blew me away. Still some of my favorite music to listen too.
I think the reason i dont cry anymore even when i feel the need to throughout the day is because i don't feel safe enough to do so.
