LYNX Blue Line is the main line passenger service for the Charlotte-Mecklenberg county transit network. Beginning operations in 2007, LYNX operated between Interstate 485 "Beltway" and Downtown. In 2018, service extended northward to University of North Carolina at Charlotte campus -- doubling the distance and ridership along the centralized railway providing a closer connection to the town of Concord (whom has an express service connecting to JW Clay Boulevard station). Future expansion calls for an extension of the existing Gold Line streetcar service westward as construction has begun refurbishing the tracks & stations to occupy trains similar to the Blue Line; all of this as a precursor for the expansion into Charlotte-Douglas International Airport some 10 miles nearby.

I absolutely loved this video! I'm a Real Estate Agent here in Charlotte, and I can say that Charlotte truly is on the come up and has so much to offer.

I do NOT like that horn on the S70's. It's so artificial!

I don't like the VF drives on the S70s, either. It sounds so stupid when just starting up from a standstill, and it squeals around like it can't get the wheels to grip the rails (example at 8:29). I think S70s would be a lot cooler if they had a cooler VF drive, like the one on the Alstom Citadis Spirit.
Edit: However that crappy VF drive is only found on the newer S70s, not the ones with the rectangular headlights.

I don't like it either. It's an electric train so I don't understand why they went with a synthesized steam whistle. Is it supposed to be for pedestrians only? You probably couldn't even hear that in a car as quiet as it is.
EDIT: I also don't like those electronic bells that have been replacing the real bells used in crossing signals.
