Unless it is a baseball glove I would say the leather is too thin to tattoo

No worries, you want it to be at least 2mm thick so you can get 1mm of needle into it.

@@Mmaulin12 I would say a leather jacket is possible but you would need to be really really careful, have come cardboard behind it and a very short stroke at low voltage, but it would be easy to pierce through.
