Congratulations for your video. I'm 41 years old Brazilian man and I watch your videos because I want to keep my grandfather clock running well and with a correct maintenance. I have one doubt: Considere that I bought a new mainspring and it's closed with a metalic wire like you showed in your video. When the mainspring arrives here, I see the new mainspring with a diameter higher than the barrel of my clock. Do you think I bought an incorrect mainspring of my clock? Kind regards.

Sounds like it might be the wrong size.
@@ScottiesClockWorld thank you so much.
@@ThiagoGaban , glad I was able to help you.
Thanks Scottie, trying to play "catch up" on the videos (just got back from vacation). Is Oleic Acid like a vegetable oil? Fish oil?
Oleic acid is a mono-unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid found in various animal and vegetable sources. Thanks Google.
Have you done any balance wheel clocks I have one that won't keep going
Try this one:

Also most vintage alarm clocks run pin pallet movements.
Excellent Scotty,,,,,😊
Thanks Tony.
These don't have to be lubricated?
No, Trifix (made in Germany) mainsprings arrive pre-lubricated.
@@ScottiesClockWorld Thanks.
Why not just unwind the spring and then put it in the barrel?
This is the industry wide safe way to install a new wire bound mainspring.
@@ScottiesClockWorld Love your videos, Thank You
@@kmehryari6068 , thank you.
