“They couldn’t make it thanks to Jaune’s training…” Me: [Imagines Nora beating him with a hammer, Pyrrha giving him tips, Ren holding the first aid kit]
I miss how team rwby acted back in volume 1 but now we have ice Queendom and finally see more of it!! Hahhaa even yang teasing ruby. I also like how some of the characters are interacting more like sun interacting with yang and ruby hahaa
I've always had it as my opinion that I feel that RWBY would have been a lot better if the show stayed in Beacon. The Fall happened WAY too early and the school setting would have been perfect for not just character development, but also world building. Hell, the entire World of Remnant series could have been the lessons in school.
Its probably because they may feel less control over the performance? Having to sync up your mood to pre-made animation (Which in this scene is stand and flap mouth around tbh) In the regular show they have more freedom over the voice as the animators will work around what they sound like anyway
@@coolcrawford I don’t get how you’re enjoying the product with less nuance then actual anime then with actual anime. Yeah, you might not be a fan of anime, and RWBY: IQ probably wasn’t your thing, but honestly I rather have this over that Volume 4 blacksmith Jaune Arc bunny hood scene. Just because the creative team for original RWBY had more creative freedom doesn’t mean it was good freedom.
@@Apronika I wasn't talking about the story or nuance, but rather the voice acting in general. (But tbh original rwby I feel is way better than IQ, IQ was just sorta mid, fun but not great) These VAs are now super good and you can tell that watching the seasons of RWBY made before this dub was created, they can express and have conversations in a great way but here they sound more like a bored person reading off a script, I believe this is due to direction. With the og show they can express it more and the animation can reflect voice performance, where with here its sit down and flap mouth with no expression at all, and so It's probably hard for the VAs to get any expression into their performance, it's a common issue with anime dubbing in general and is why I tend to avoid dubbed anime. To my understanding the anime industry in general has this issue even in Japan, as animation is done before the voice acting though the japanese vas are used to this and are probably better directed
I think the difference is in animation styles. In American animation, characters' mannerisms & movements are defined by the VA, whereas in Japanese animation, character movement is based on the situation that guides the VA. You'll see more body & expressions in cartoons timed to the VA's performance In anime, the feeling of the moment or action influences the VA's performance
@@diandremosley ironic is that the reasion we have 3 dubs of Akira is because the director had it animated in Western order the Voice talent recorded first and then they animated the spoken segments. it makes the localization harder because normally the lips just flap open and closed in Akira they actually almost rotoscoped the JP language lip movements it's basically the one anime where they have HK film disorder

I really love that this anime version of RWBY gives the voice casts another chance to not sound as off as they did in Volume 1 - Volume 5 (they had very good moments but the dialog was sometimes poor) They actually sound like people
Probably not of Ice Queendom but I do hope for more RWBY side-stories like this. Hypothetically though, if they do make a season 2 of Ice Queendom... what would it follow? Ruby doesn't exactly get any trauma or anything for the Nightmare Grimm to work off of until after Volume 3, Blake has already been infected, Weiss has been infected, Jaune has been infected, Ren and Nora have dead parents but I think that their dreamscapes would be about as complex as Jaune's (I.e one layer, go in, punch shit, it's done), Pyrrha is the most plausible one since most of her life has been living as a celebrity in the spotlight, it could give us more insight to Team JNPR dynamics pre-fall but ehh...

"I'm going to learn to do everything all by myself!"
Oooh. Be careful what your goals are, Ruby.
Yknow its crazy how having to dub a Japanese made version of RWBY results in the cast sounding a lot more “anime” in performance.
Its probably because they may feel less control over the performance?

yes, as evidenced by the fact that they sound exactly the same
