I was there about 8 years ago, interesting town, it has everything you need and still maintains the architecture that gives that feeling of old Mexico

Tepatitlan It’s not a town,is a small city with over 110,000 people living there

We call big cities that has millions of people a town in the United States, maybe that's just something Americans do.. You will find people (me) who call Los Angeles a town... don't take it in offense.. we don't mean it to belittle the city. :)

@@ZackBackpackingAroundTheWorld its just incorrect. hamlet, town, city, are all defined by population size.

@@cryptobuddha2600 it’s not incorrect. If so. Why do they call it hometown instead of homecity?

Fun fact: that city and the region it’s in, is where most Spanish settlers settled and didn’t mix with natives until after the revolution in 1910

Idk what time of year you guys went but I definitely recommend you guys return to Tepa in April. That's when the festivals happen. Many of the biggest artists come to perform. Also Tepa is a very unique city, it has been around since 1530. And was the location of the bloodiest battle during the cristero war.

You need to go to Yahualica de Gonzalez Gallo, Jalisco just 45 mins from tepatitlan, between September 20 and September 30. You will not be disappointed, plenty of material for you videos and most everything is walking distance.

There is more places to visit. Just need to ask the people that lives in there. I’m from Tepatitlan. Regarding the architecture is getting lost because people want to built new home. I believe some sections in centro your remind the same old architecture and you can build the house inside how you like.
Also they need to clean the streets (pressure watch) and paint to old buildings. Is been neglected by the government and citizens same in the around the Mercado. Tell you friend to be more friendly I’m sure she speaks Spanish.

    • @ZackBackpackingAroundTheWorld

yeah, we will ask people next time where we should go.. and I'm not going to tell any city or town how they should be. I'm just a tourist.. They're going to do what they're going to do.. but I appreciate you caring about the people of Tepatitlan having cleans streets and renovated buildings.
